"Is this academic fraud? Yes, it is by a normal person's standards. But by the NCAA definition [it is not]."

Anyone who knows any Carolina fans shouldn't be surprised by their self righteous arrogance. It's as if they thought they were so much better than anyone else they believed they could get away with it. Carolina Way.. What a crock of ****.

Had a bunch of Carolina fans in my fraternity in Charleston. Their self righteous hypocrisy of that program and Good Ole Saint Dean knows no bounds. Took so much crap about Cal since he took the job in 09.

Still don't believe anything happens of any consequence to UNC because they're UNC. Hopefully the NCAA will get mad at Carolina and PUNISH LOUISVILLE. PLEASE.

I will give Carolina this- they are true to themselves. They have handled this exactly the way I would have expected them to- in the douchiest, most arrogant way possible. So, props for that.

I mean how many of you all would be upset if we fired Mitch and hired Porky who ran the club/brothel "Porky's" from the movie "Porky's"?

Everyone does it.

I love that reply. So if you get caught cheating on your wife, you just tell her everyone does it and boom, problem goes away.

Oh didn't pay your taxes, f it, nobody does. You're good.

[laughing]

The worst part about the scandals is not winning a title to not only throw their impropriety back in their faces but to twist the knife with winning the right way too.

Best part- and I come from a position of knowledge on this kind of stuff- 5 years into this with all the $$$ spent on lawyers and PR firms, Bubba has obviously been coached a great deal on exactly how to answer these basic questions from the media...

and THAT is the best they could come up with:

- Yeah it was academic fraud but not by the NCAA's exact rules. We're cheating but it's technically not against their rules.

- Everybody does it. In fact, we have done it a lot more than just this episode.

Just shows what a ****** hand UNC has- bullying and circular logic.

Dauster on UK's struggles:

1. This just isn’t a good defensive team right now: That’s the crux of the issue for this team. They’re just aren’t getting enough stops. They’ve allowed an average of 86.2 points the last five games and, in the last four games, they’ve gifted their opponents an average of 54 points in the second half. They were beat up in the post by Tennessee. They were beaten in transition by Florida. Yante Maten of Georgia lit them up. LSU’s Antonio Blakeney scored 31 points, easily the best game he’s played this season.

“They couldn’t guard us for s***,” said a member of one staff that has faced Kentucky recently.

2. This is what freshmen are supposed to be:

Kentucky doesn’t have bad individual defenders as much as they have young defenders, and young defenders make mistakes.

3. … Kentucky is predictable in the half court:

It’s not a secret what they’re trying to do, as their offense is, essentially, one of three things: Fox trying to turn the corner going left, Monk getting run off of screens and hunting jumpshots, or Adebayo getting the ball thrown into him in the post.

The other issue?

There seems to be a lack of fight with this group. Talk to people around the conference and you’ll hear things like “don’t really see a lot of leadership” and “they seem disinterested.” Tennessee is totally outclassed in terms of talent but, as one person that scouted the Tennessee’s win said, “Tennessee just played harder.” In the loss to Florida, they got punched in the mouth and didn’t have an answer, as Florida dominated the glass, picked up every loose ball and lit up Kentucky in transition.

4. This is the danger of expectations:

Duke dealt with this for a month before they made the decision to fully embrace playing small-ball. They’re 3-0 since the change. Kansas had their issues and they made the decision to play zone; it earned them a comeback win in Rupp Arena despite playing short-handed.

My wife's former television. Popped up on my Facebook Memories thing today. I made her toss it when we moved in together. Was a relic from her dorm. Pretty much every female in college from about 2000-08 had this damned TV.

Our offense does strike me as sort of basic, but I'm not sure how you get around that with a team so young. Cal basically has to start over from scratch every year, so you can't really add too many wrinkles.

Simply taking care of the ball, offensive rebounds from Bam and better D (creating transition buckets) would make our offense amazing again.

At least we're finding this **** out now. At least we're not realizing we suck in the halfcourt for the first time in the NCAA.

Good thing is most of the issues are effort related. Doesn't mean they will fix them but talent is not an issue here.

Of all the pussyfooting and poor defensive positioning at times, seeing Gabriel get after it gives me hope on that side of the ball. And he has a decent enough outside shot to spread out the defense where he can clear it up for Bam to do about the only thing Bam can do right now, dunk.

GDit, getting my hopes up again.

As much as defense is about effort, it also has to be learned as well. Our guys have the tools but the team D isn't there at all, which is more alarming than the individual D issues to me.

I think Hardees is better. Wendys you have to choose between burger or chicken sandwich. Hardees you get :

Cheeseburger (1/3 lbs)
Chicken sandwich
Fries
Drink.

To me, the chicken sandwich is a better value over the (4) nuggets.

Mussel and Burger Bar on Sat followed by cocktails in the upstairs bar of Butchertown Grocery. Last time we went they had this duo featuring a brother crushing the sax and playing choice tunes. Looking forward to it.

NOT GOING TO LUNCH ON SATURDAY. Sorry, Brian. Built up equity all week doing to & from daycare runs and taking tmw off to do some pre spring yard work. Took Rupp for a run during lunch and picking up the Lil lassy tonight from daycare so she can go to the gym. There's beef vegetable soup simmering in the crock pot right now for dinner. She's in a great mood right now so I might get a little bold & pull the old I NEED TO RUN TO OSCAR'S HARDWARE FOR WHATEVER OH HEY LOOK CRAFT HOUSE IS NEXT DOOR TO OSCAR'S & POPPED IN FOR A CRAFTY.
