-No, I do not like Louisville right now, this second -- particularly with a lineup of McMahon, Henderson, Levitch, Mitchell, and King. Do still think at full strength they are one of the handful of contenders.

Went hard on UVA ML last night (-230), lock of the year. They are 39-2 in the ACC the last 5 years at home...that's incredible, given the level of competition they face in conference. Sure as hell wouldn't want Bennett here, but damn he's good.


-Conference in Lexington yesterday at Commonwealth. Afterwards, Anthony Thornton took a few of us over to the new facility, and had 'house mom' Sally give us a private tour. Realize I'm the last of my GYERO Elite to see that place, but good lord it's unreal. o_O

-Btw, I hate meetings more than anyone here. I'm the best meeting hater of all time, in fact. Things make me nearly suicidal, I swear -- special thanks to Chad yesterday for keeping me somewhat distracted.

-Cats by 25, eh? LSU is horrible, but that's a lot of damn points for this team to cover. Still waiting on our TT to pop up, probably roll with that.

Meetings are a great way to get caught up on email, texting, Tinder swiping, doodling, writing down to-do lists, napping, reading KSR, playing Angry Birds, GYERO, super secret email chains, shopping on Amazon, researching pron sites, perusing Cot's Contracts, etc.

Not sure what's to hate.

Now this is something I could be convinced to protest for. I'm talking cardboard signs, stopping traffic, getting pepper sprayed...the works. We need to end this year around, travel ball ****. The reasonable parents need to take back sports from the crazy parents.

Some of these people need to get a gd hobby. Go play a round of golf, join a bowling league...stop carting your 10 year old around the damn country to play in-door soccer in February. Give them a little space to, you know, be a kid.

Everything is extreme anymore, just like politics, either we have deadbeat parents who don't put any effort into raising kids they really didn't need or want or you have the one-upper parents who are going to push their kids to the point of having major emotional disorders when they are adults.

The rational, reasonable, sane people need to take to the streets and take back our country. I'll join you right after work, and basketball practice, and dinner, and the twins bath, and bedtime. Second thought, let me check my schedule.

By comparison, my teams have won 2 titles in the past 19 years.

And from 1998 to 2012, they won zero.

Life is the worst, man.

The sad reality is, especially in a large metro area, is that if you aren't performing or practicing your sport year round then you are falling behind. Unless you are one of the rare ones. Even more sad is the need to focus on 1-2 sports at a young age.

Yeah it's a shame that's the only way to achieve anything in life is through proficiency in youth sports.

A frustrated LSU coach Dale Brown tossed his plaid sportcoat onto the Kentucky emblem at midcourt, Feb. 2, 1976, at Memorial Coliseum. The game was marred by four technical fouls, 53 fouls, 63 free-throw attempts, a six-minute stoppage in play that resulted in a five-point play, and Brown being escorted from the game officials’ locker room by a university police officer. The Tigers started the game hot and had a 34-21 lead after Kenny Higgs’ five-point play. Kentucky’s Larry Johnson fouled Higgs hard on a made basket and was assessed a technical. UK coach Joe B. Hall was given a technical after saying the call was “horse manure,” or words to that effect. “They (the officials) don’t realize that’s not a dirty word in the Bluegrass,” Hall joked after the game. After the delay, UK started a comeback, one that Brown thought was helped by the officials, culminating with his double technicals in the second half. “Joe Hall won the game and he should be complimented,” Brown later said. “He intimidated the officials.” Immediately after the game, Brown followed the officials to their small dressing room under the Coliseum. The coach didn’t bother to close the door as he said, “Reggie (Copeland), you let them call you an S.O.B. (an epithet emphatically denied by Hall) and you didn’t have the guts to throw him out! You let an assistant coach bat the ball halfway across the floor!” A campus police officer then entered the room to escort Brown out. “Get your arm off me, fella,” Brown said. “These guys (the campus police) are as bush league as they are (the officials)!” Brown later went to the UK locker room to shake Hall’s hand. “I could match every complaint he had,” Hall said. “After the game he was complaining generally about the officials, and I was generally agreeing with him.”

Kid is probably one of those NE Duke fans too or better yet a Ucoon fan.

Taking UK out of the equation going strictly pro in my 38 years I've seen ONE championship for my teams. I guess I could count the Mavs since I lived there for the better part of a decade and went to numerous games but it ain't the same. Sports are cruel.

I remember a Billy Reed column in the C-J in (IIRC during the blizzard of January 1978) where he quoted Dale Brown after losing to UK, saying to either Reed or other reporters in the room "why don't you go [masturbate]."

That's how it was printed in the paper and as a 12 year old lad, I didn't quite understand it. I remember asking my dad about it and him garbling some uncomfortable, nonsense answer.

It was years later when I realized that Dale really must have said "Why don't you go F yourself".

My 7 year old just finished his indoor baseball season. Been going since march of last year. He now has about 2 weeks off until spring evaluations, then probably a 2 week break until spring baseball starts. He would probably play 7 days a week 365. No interest in playing anything else. It's crazy. Looking forward to this ~ month or so off tho.

Lassy's twin sister and her fiancé are coming in from Chicago this weekend so they can try on brides made dresses. Their going to some henpost at 11:00 on Sat mng to try on dresses and then WE'RE ALL SUPPOSED TO GO TO LUNCH TOGETHER. BRIAN DOESN'T EVEN LIKE COLLEGE BASKETBALL, MUCH LESS UK.

Fng false, toots. I'm taking Brian under my wing for the afternoon and we'll be watching the Cats and enjoying domestos at some bar whether he likes it or not. And, for good measure, I've already had a nice but firm convo on the side to not ruin it for me by suggesting we go to lunch with the hens.

Speaking of nostalgia, I've considered getting the NES classic or whatever it's called. Haven't played a video gamming system other than the WII since college. Have no interest in learning how to operate a 16 button controller or dropping $1000 on some system my 3 year olds will probably stuff a pop tart into.

But, I think it might be fun to take a trip down memory lane with the NES, my 11 year old would probably get a kick out of Zelda.

Any of ya'll have it?
