I think a lot of that is not knowing what the hell to do against junk D.
Also March is a half court game and we aren't built for it.

-This is worse than the the UT loss.

-We can't play "force it to Bam" offense. The dude is a beast, but there is a reason why like no offenses in the world are centered around an offensive center.

The strategy kills off the ball movement since Bam is always in the paint. That leaves less room for cut opportunities. Also, the post shot isn't efficient by itself.

Bam is a finisher! Get him in pick and roll, don't camp him on the block. Set him up for easy shots. Giving him the ball and telling him to get a shot 10 feet from the rim is not his strength.

-Further on Bam, the offensive rebound should be a weapon. He has been none existent on the glass for all season. Given his physical tools, there is no excuse for such a lack of production.

-Turnovers from our backcourt+Bam are alarming. A good percentage of them lead right into easy baskets for the opponent, further compounding the issue. It has been an issue in each of the last 3 games and in the in the MSU game.

-Wenyan disappeared into the night. After what seemed to be an evolution, he reverted to being rather worthless in the last two games.

-Curious if Mulder would have been an asset this game. It would have allowed us to stretch the floor with another shooter and even play 4 guards to counter KU's 4 guard look. If he only gets a handful of minutes, it's probably irrelevant.

-Defensively, we still don't understand the best way to play. Cal's style always puts a ton of pressure on individual defending. We pressure off the ball, but don't really try to get turnovers. We put guys on islands since help defense is far away. This leads to a conundrum without a rim protector. We sell out to stop the 3, but don't have an ability to deter and alter shots around the rim. And then to make it worse, we don't force many turnovers. If we forced turnovers, we could mitigate damage from shots around the rim. Increasing pressure seems more reasonable compared to switching to a packline style.

Bingo. We were rolling along until we kept trying to force it to him. That's what started the string of turnovers during that first half clusterfk. We took our own best offensive player out of the game by making him an entry passer after he started out 5-5 with 12 points before people had barely settled into their seats.

Is straight feed. No screen. Feel like he is better off the slip screen and feed by Fox.

But Carl's message since Tuesday night was to feed him. Stuck in the 90's feed the post offense.

Not sure this team is capable of playing anything other than pack-line defense. Even though the pack-line generally opens up more 3pt shots, I'm not sure that would be the case with this team. We get so GD lost in our own defense that we give up plenty of wide-open shots.

John Calipari: "We got out-toughed and we didn't guard the way we needed to guard, which is all curable."

BCG?

Guess I'm the only one disappointed but otherwise kinda numb to this game? The better team won.

I realize this is GYERO and you guys think we will win every game by 25 and win the title every year, but that's not really how it works. We're a fun & young team who's not smart or tough at the moment -- I don't expect us to win games vs. veteran teams of equal caliber, although I know we CAN if we're on one of our heaters.

Again, this year is wide open and I'm not "giving up" on this team -- but we're going to lose a few (several) more, so buckle up. In reality, we've lost to every good team we've played other than UNC, which took a once-in-a-lifetime performance.

Many of you all won't admit it but I know for me that 2015 Wisconsin game has jaded me. Not sure how long it will take me to get over it. This game had a similar feel.

No. Nope. Don't even. If there was a clearly better PG behind Fox that Cal refused to play then I would agree but there is no Tyler Ulis and Cal not playing someone that may be better isn't the issue.

- Still can't hit FTs
- Still can't play a full game of defense
- Monk is a gun in crucial situations trying to make a 10 point shot
- Bam is not being utilized well in the offense
- Bam/Aussie/other big can't rebound 10 per game

Obviously more going on but it's not anything like that Wisky game.

Goddam, get over your homer *** self never, ever thinking Cal can do anything wrong. He has TONS of flaws and they are very evident this year.

I trust in Calipari to get his young teams where they need to be when it matters. I believe he's earned that trust.

But yeah, I've been a dick on here tonight and preachy and I apologize for that. I don't know any more than anyone else here. My bad.

These guys pretty much know who they'll have to beat in March now. Can't wait for the UCLA, UL, KU and UNC F4. Will be a hoot.

This team is a solid B or B+. We can be good at times but this is just not going to be anything special. Kind of sucks because there are some very special players but we aren't anything that is going anywhere.

Quit watching with about 5:00 to go, no reason to subject myself to that. However, Keith Morrison on Dateline is one creepy dood

Everyone points to 2014 but what about 2013? Which one will it be? I really don't like the way this one is trending.
