Or start at maybe Washington and Magazine Street (there's a Starbucks there), and slowly bar/coffee shop/vintage store/local junk store/ice cream junts/etc hop your way westward up Magazine. Lots of cool places to hop in.

The Bulldog is the most popular bar (I think its on the corner of Pleasant). Patio is great. It's sunny and 70ish degrees here. [thumb2][thumb2]
Why was my first thought that these are the blackest places in New Orleans one pasty cracker could go?

Then again, Starbucks kind of throws that theory out the window.

Any thoughts on this, Chief?

I don't know what Joey will end up doing today, but it's a 100% lock it will be something really weird.

Oh, and when he posts about it on Monday, it will take 7 paragraphs to explain. And none of us will read it. Any of it.

I think if Magazine Street was dangerous we would have heard exactly why on day 1 like we have every other street that has been labeled dangerous in the past 15+ years.

Random:

during Sunday's NFL games I saw a commercial that may me do a double take. There is, I kid you not, a prescription drug for OPIOID INDUCED CONSTIPATION.

You can't make this up. For touch sake. That industry has no f'ing shame.

As someone who's been on opioids for 3 weeks, I can assure you the struggle is real & that drug is necessary & a godsend for many who are required to take more than I (for legitimate reasons) & for an extended period.

Stool softeners and Dulcolax have done very little in helping me, it's been pretty miserable.

-On a positive note ---> I chipped around a little behind the house yesterday, and even ended up walking 2 holes. Couldn't do anything but punch it down the fairway & chip onto the green (no full swings, and couldn't putt b/c I can't bend over to get the ball out of the hole just yet) -- but it felt great to be out and about in the real world. :)

My wife's company sell it (wife doesnt sell that drug but holler if you have gout). And those reps probably make a good 6 figure salary for their 4 hour work day efforts.

Can't wait until Saturday.

Plan is to get to Lexington around 2. Go have some lunch downtown, walk around a bit, then sit down an hour or so and pre-game. I'll have the little Bernie but I'll still be able to have a couple of pre-game frosties.

Generally, conflict makes for good GYERO, but I'm legitimately concerned for Chad. He's just so angry now. Chin up, man...these next 8 years will just fly by.

Little Bernie gets the Kansas game, eh? That's pretty generous.

-Just found out I'll be in attendance as well. :eyes:

I haven't been to a whole lot of marquee games at Rupp Arena under Cal...can't think of any Top 5 matchups (both teams) on the level of this one that I've attended at home, maybe ever -- pretty pumped.

I had a burger & potato at Port of Call and now I'm just ambling around. The wedding's in the big cathedral and our old college crew is all staying adjacent to it.

Bonus: My seven-month pregnant wife was totally cool with leaving her alone with our toddler for four days! "Dada pack. Dada airplane fly."

I saw Charlton's work in a USA Today article the other day, lol. Pretty sure he is (or was) a nation-wide resource at this point...

What's his alternate account? Can't find him on the Twitter.

Welp, now that you've taken in the most venerable burger joint in town, I guess it's time to go ***** around Bourbon Street during 3-fer-1 happy hour. Best wishes, friend.

<----raises hand for gout. Been laid up for two days.....probably the 4th time I've had it and the only thing worse that I can remember is that picture from 2300. Open to suggestions. Doc recommends allopurinol and I've read some not so flattering things.

IMO its a complete and total ***** move. I hope Cal uses it against him on the trail.

Asked how long the penalties would last, a source close to the program said: "Until they start living up to the standards of the Duke program."

I doubt some of Duke's current crop give a **** about not being able to wear their Blue Devil sweat pants. Ain't exactly a roster of Battier's and Wojo's.

I mean ****, no way the other people on campus recognize the players anymore without their Duke issued hoodie.

So, Louisville is adamant that Pitino couldn't have known about the prostitutes/strippers.

When parents sent their high schoolers to Louisville to spend the night, could they not reasonably expect the head coach to keep an eye on them?

Is it not the fault of the coach, the basketball program or the university that one of their employees was trying to entice teenagers with sex?

It wasn't just a rogue assistant, multiple members of the team took part as well.

If this isn't a case of failing to monitor the program, what the hell is? It didn't just happen once. It happened all of the damn time.

And who was giving McGee the money to pay for these acts?
