I have no idea how to do anything related to basketball right now. Totally spent and sour on the whole damn thing. <----- A little "sorry for myself" hyperbole, but honestly I wouldn't know how to fix the Cats or if they even need "fixing." Haven't even thought about them from an analytical standpoint actually. I watch them as a fan.

The one thing that worried me back in October is the lack of bulk on Monk and Fox. I think stronger guards give us trouble because those two don't absorb contact on the defensive end very well. They give too much ground and the next thing you know, their man has taken 2 dribbles and gone right to the rack. Briscoe having to guard the other team's 3 does us no favors either imo. Gives up a lot of size.

Geez Strokin... 2-15? Hang in there, man.

I will say that "6-3 elbows on the rim athlete" is a heckuva description.

We're bad at defense because:
(1) We start 4 freshmen who never had to play defense in high school
(2) We are switching everything (against most teams) which puts guys in mismatches
(3) The way fouls were called in the first few SEC games has Fox, Briscoe, etc. thinking too much and playing on their heels

As mentioned by many, there's also no real rim protector like we have had in the past to take pressure off the guards. But from a physical and athletic ability standpoint, there is no reason this team shouldn't be at least competent on defense, and considering the amount of points they put up, that's really all they need to beat most teams. They have time to figure it out, hopefully they do.

Most UL fans seem to be under the impression that there is no danger of vacating wins or banners coming down because the NCAA hasn't said those are possibilities. Not sure where that logic is coming from, but we are dealing with an extremely stupid collection of people.
COUNTER POINT: we are also dealing with the NCAA

Stayed at Cincy 21C last weekend -- lol. I honestly can't think of a bigger 'paying for pretension' situation around here than that.

Hotel is fine. NYC-Small rooms, clean, but the art situation & overall feel of the place is like Kmart compared to the Louisville one. Honestly, the place feels like a dump. Bar is also cramped and ******.

Valet is your only option, as well. Cost us around $300 all in for the night after a few bar drinks ([eyeroll]), and that's with an unheard of $199 room rate that I booked on some special months ago attempting to have a nice day/night away w/ the lass. Guessing Anth averages around $500 per night on his stays given his suite tendencies and not seeking out non-refundable specials months in advance.

I mean, that's a joke.

What is 100% not in doubt, however, is that multiple key players on that title team received impermissible benefits by UL's own admission.

It seems to me the best counter with a team of quick, slender guys would be pressure defense...full court, 3-quarter, and half court traps.

But Cal refuses to put that arrow in his quiver.

Amen

It's indefensible. But he throws that half *** 3/4 press, half *** traps to "speed up the other team".

Whatever. Idc till we get beat in march by some team with half the talent we have.

A few weeks ago the family, lass, Lil Lass and I had dinner at Rumor's. Behind us eating an agreeable meal accompanied with a cold domesto was Paul Rogers.

Thought to myself..There's a throwback. Maybe the best in the biz now without much major fanfare. Rogers grew up a UK fan and graduated from UK's telecommunications program.

Cracks me up how often Rich goes all the way out to Middletown to go To Rumors.

<--- did not know Rodgers was a UK fan & grad. Agree he's as good as it gets, and Don Fischer is right there with him.

Sunday night family dinner, Wodie. Close to my parents' home. Best wings in town, dynamo beer battered onion rings , ice cold Miller Lite pitchers and oldies always playing on the jukebox. For a Sunday night comfortable meal it hits the spot.

I saw him get inducted to the Kentucky hall of fame. It was the same night my baseball coach was put in. He spoke highly of UK, told great stories about Cawood, and then said something about Louisville and I kind of zoned out.

I'm sure Chief is referring to the comment Lemmond made on the show this morning, alluding to the fact that Mikey is "sick". I'd guess the weed, IMO.

Or start at maybe Washington and Magazine Street (there's a Starbucks there), and slowly bar/coffee shop/vintage store/local junk store/ice cream junts/etc hop your way westward up Magazine. Lots of cool places to hop in.

The Bulldog is the most popular bar (I think its on the corner of Pleasant). Patio is great. It's sunny and 70ish degrees here. [thumb2][thumb2]

Feel ya Strokin, I had a little 12 year old on my 10-12 year old ABA bball team who was Wilgus with a ponytail...but she showed out (I would like to think because of my free flowing offensive scheme) and got snatched up by our local AAU coach, quit my team to play travel ball.

We got beat last Sat by 30, it was like going to UT after Noel went down.

The struggle is real!

Any UofL fan making a prediction is making as much of a guess as I am. It's the NCAA, you don't know anything, up is down, red is blue, dogs are cats, etc. Logic really has no place there so getting off scot-free or losing everything is all in play here. The only thing the NCAA has been fairly consistent about who their favorites are and who aren't. Louisville fans are living in a bubble if they think they're one of the good guys. This sports program with a school has so blatantly given the NCAA and the media the finger with Syphergate, Clint Hurtt, Petrino re-hire, bringing every talented criminal cut loose by other programs into football, OD deaths in dorms, and now this, if I was a UofL fan I'd be expecting the absolute worse and praying that it's not that bad.

As I've said before, if the NCAA doesn't come down extremely hard on UofL, their enforcement days are over.

If they did this in the early 90s the death penalty would be on the table.

My opinion is Hami has been murkin fools in practice and our guards are on notice. This has especially effected mr Briscoe who has been a tight butthole recently and had every layup blocked.

When cal came out to the press and told us day 1, first time in the gym, in steet clothes, Hami embarrassed one of our bigs I just knew we would see him eventually, and he would be the defensive piece we needed.

If that doesn't happen I'll be talking about it non stop after West Virginia knocks us out in the elite 8 or whatever. C-sucker should have never mentioned Hami like that if he wasn't gonna get him ready to play ball.

Random:

during Sunday's NFL games I saw a commercial that may me do a double take. There is, I kid you not, a prescription drug for OPIOID INDUCED CONSTIPATION.

You can't make this up. For touch sake. That industry has no f'ing shame.

It's hilarious. Plus it's like some cowboy lmaoooo.

Our country is opioid induced constipation, basically.
