* Reflecting back on the game yesterday...South Carolina is never going to beat us. They just can't SCORE THE BASKETBALL well enough. You have to have really good quick hitter stuff in the halfcourt set offense, bigs who can stretch the floor and hit jump shots and then also hit a high number and percentage of threes to beat us. I actually think South Carolina with Thornwell is a pretty good squad and as long as they don't suffer that Kentucky hangover this week, shouldn't lose too many more times this year. But they'll go 0-100 against Kentucky in 2016-17, and so will anybody else who struggles that much offensively.
And I feel the same way about teams who depend largely on getting points off of turnovers. Please put West Virginia in our bracket. Go ahead. They will die.
* People on TV acting like last night was Duke's come to Jesus moment...no. Miami made the kinds of mistakes that were so terrible that it's hard to give the defense credit for them. The cheers in Cameron when Bolden made positive plays remind me of towards the end of last season in Rupp when Skal went 2 trips down the floor without falling down. And to see Harry Giles clunking around out there with the heavy football braces on his knees makes me sad. They've taken bags of money from that kid and lit them on fire. Whoever was the first person in this thread to do a full heel turn on Jay Bilas...good job by you, you visionary.
* Arizona with Allonzo Trier back:

They beat UCLA at their own game. I haven't seen Arizona score like that since the Derrick Williams team. That was frightening. Markkanen is one of those players you dread seeing on your side of the bracket and they might have the most athletic set of guards in the country.
* Enough of politics but I need to say this because it will make me feel better to get it out: My beef with the Democrats stems from when they had control of the House, Senate and Presidency, they implemented a policy that caused my insurance provider to cease to exist and basically forced me to get money from the government for insurance. It was a point of personal pride for me that I paid for my own insurance out of pocket despite not making a ton of money or having a ton in the bank. I'm a functional cripple with a job and I don't need or want a handout. And that policy took that feeling from me. It's like yeah, I'm handicapped, but we're all wired differently, and that's where I disagree the most with the modern crazy left. Individuals > Groups and those kinds of things
At the end of the day, if somebody wants to take issue with ^that^, that's cool. It's just disagreement. We can do that without hating each other. Don't get fully pumped, but do pump the brakes.
* RE: Cal working the refs prior to South Carolina...I'm glad he did it. Jump shooting Vanderbilt shooting 32 FTs in a game shouldn't happen. The absolutely atrocious whistle against both teams on Tuesday in Starkville shouldn't happen. And considering that Kansas is looming and last year at Kansas was one of the most lopsided officiated big games of the last 15 years, if the seed gets planted...
