Did you guys know that Brad's mom is also coach's wife, and when Brad gets in the game coach gets good sex.
Small price to pay to have Cal for at least 4 more years, so whatever...but it is stupid that GivenNotEarned gets in before the other walkons.

Probably right but Humphries has not been much better with a much larger sample size.

False, and it's not close right now.

Izak has struggled for sure, but can at least body someone, block a shot, and stays in decent position to rebound...compared to SKJ. He's got talent, but has no business in the game right now, brings absolutely zero. (which is why he doesn't play)

I making fun of the announcers (who didn't harp on it as much tonight), but your point is right.

Not really. He's better than them, and 90% of Cal's walkons since he's been here his NE rich friends' scrub kids who were most certainly "given" their spot.
Better than Malone/Long. I don't think you have a clue how good David and Pulliam are given their 20 second mop up duty versus GNE's 4 minute stints. They were legitimate basketball players in HS.

It's really a silly gripe, I just know my old man would be like "your *** will go in with the rest of the scrubs...if not later." Of course, he also would have scheduled lazer removal surgery the day I showed up with a chest tat.

But, like I said, whatever.

Ironically, Brad is the type of player (no D, but shooter) that seem to irk Cal the most.

Humphries can body someone? Ha. His lateral quickness is awful. He may be ahead of SKJ but the dude is extremely foul prone bc he can't move his feet well enough to stay in front of his man without fouling. He also has had a tendency since the Michigan St game to get the ball stripped 2/3 times he touches it. Watching him try to go for a loose or free ball is like slow motion and he won't get it bc he's not quick or fast enough against decent to good athletes to get it in time. I get we have to play him bc we don't have any other low post options but he is more project than most realize.

I don't know enough about David to make a judgment one way or the other, but I saw Dillon Pulliam at Transylvania before he came to Kentucky. Shew boy.

No problem with Brad getting the minutes between those two guys.

Of course he is, he's 18. Should be a true frosh.

I think Humphries is fine. He's a situational big at this point. If he could eventually find that little midrange shot it would change everyone's perception of him.

He's much more prepared to take on a "grind it out" ugly SEC road game where Bam gets 2 early cheap ones than SKJ. I like SKJ but he'll make his impact next year, imo.

Still think we were too causal on offense tonight. Get we things can get sloppy when you're up 31 but I really didn't like how Briscoe or Monk started to play in the 2nd half.

I know one thing, this team won't be dropping a game to a "bad" team in a dark gym on a cold February night.

We score waaaay too easy.

Really like an ugly 24 pt win over a pretty solid squad (79th in KP before game).

Nique was a Derby Festival alum as well. King Rex. Dwayne Morton. Damon Bailey. Delk. McCarty. Shep. Montross. Magloire. DA. Brad Calipari.

All things considered...pretty good stuff tonight. Good to see them storm out of the gates and blitz a confident mid-major. Really dig the way our dudes start games thus far. The exception rather than the rule in the tenure of Cal.

I'm not sure the 1-3-1 is going to be an effective defensive tool against these guys and clearly neither did they.

Bam's getting there. I don't know if he's going to have one of these gigantic stat line games that Julius Randle got on the regular, but he's getting there.

Peters is legit. Why did that guy not at least test the waters in such a weak 2016 draft? Dude's a player. Horizon League has been a pretty solid mid-major league even after losing Butler. Valpo, Green Bay and Oakland are all pretty tough traditionally.

Monk needs to learn how to probe & attack the basket a little.

He's good for 1 pull-up a game, and the rest are breakaway dunks or 3s. He's not even scratching the surface of what he can really do.

At least he converted a couple fast break layups. He's out there getting better every game.

-love mulder. Willis was pressing early trying to shoot everything rather than in his rhythm.

-Don't get the hate for Humphries. He's your backup center. Gets beat but makes hustle plays.

-Glad John remembered how to coach, game plan and build a team. Shew... that was close.

-After the game today, Willis is up to 16.4 points per 40 and scoring 1.44 points per shot. We need to run offense to get him looks.

-Since making his first 21 free throws, Fox has shot 53% from the line in subsequent games. The only shooter worse than him during that stretch is SKJ.

-Adebayo is shaping up to be an offensive weapon. Teams struggle to defend him without fouling so the line is where he has done most of his damage so far. Once a role is carved out and defined, I expect him to improve that FG%. He could make an argument as the best player on the team if that TS% climbs into the mid-60's.

-Not a good shooting game for Mulder, but he loaded the stat sheet up with everything else. Another good showing on Sunday could prime him for run against UNC.

Mulder with 7 rebounds. His first play in the game he runs to save a missed shot from going out of bounds and throws it to Bam who gets fouled on the way up.

Total hustle play.
