Rob, be careful hanging up Christmas decorations, big guy.

Chief, I've got it under control. Kindly keep any other suggestions to yourself.

Uh oh. Polar Express just ended. Gotta go.

Again, if you watch Jefferson work down low...he's one of the best bigs in the country, NBA be damned. Dude is just schooling those fools down there like a vet should. His minutes aren't going anywhere, even if Giles turns into Superman and is 100% tomorrow, along with Bolden.

Would kill for a guy like him...who is what Lee should have become, but just never did (although we could sure as **** use Lee this year, for sure).

Jefferson does yeoman's work on the boards & hovers around the baseline picking his spots knowing the exact time to flash for the dump off. Dude knows his role to a tee.

Well, Tatum looks pretty good.:flushed:

Gators impressed me a little, despite they fact they're gonna lose by 15. Good team.

As much as I love Briscoe, I would trade him for Kennard in a heartbeat. Everything Briscoe gives us can be provided collectively by Monk, Fox, Hawkins, and Mulder. Kennard gives us everything we need. And he grew up a UK fan. Could you imagine him draining 3s in Rupp? What a beautiful sight that would have been!

Still love Briscoe though.

Kennard would be getting about as much clock as Mulder on our team. His defense is weak. Actually was a good choice for him going to Duke tbh, Cal hates players like him.

I didn't stay up and watch the second half of Florida/Duke because I assumed Florida had dug too big of a hole, but it looks like they acquitted themselves well. A ten point loss on a neutral court feels about right for a top ten team over a top 25 team.

I know I am biased, but I don't see how Duke is going to become this juggernaut that is head and shoulders above the field. I think they're right there with a handful of other teams. They certainly do not suck. They're a top ten team and maybe a top five team. They just aren't a "hand them the trophy" type of team.

Grayson Allen may be the most overrated Duke player of all time. He's treated like he's a legit NPOY front runner. Allen is a good college player, but he's not even the best guard on his own team. Kennard gives them everything he does and does it better.

Interested to see how the Cats bounce back tonight. They need to come out and bury this team from the jump. Bet Bam gets at least 15 FGA tonight. When we struggle, Cal beats them over the head to throw it into the post.

If Mulder gets significant minutes tonight will it piss you off or encourage you that Mulder will play more? I'm guessing a lot of people will react with disdain if he checks in and knocks down a handful of jumpers. I bet we see as much of SKJ as Mulder. Lot of talk about "big lineups" from Cal this week.

44 is a ripe old age for a Crocodile Hunter.

I'd still put Duke #1 or 2 with UCLA but they're going to have trouble all year stopping the bounce. Their guards just aren't made to defend quicker players. That said, their firepower may make that a moot point.

Yeah, their floor is probably Elite Eight. Not a bad place to be by any means. I think they have a higher floor than us, but maybe a lower ceiling. I still think we have the highest ceiling in college basketball.

This whole "UCLA'S BEST TEAM IN 20 YEARS!!!" argument on KSR and other radio shows this week is so very NOW.

The 2006 team lost in the NCAA Championship Game to Florida. Collison, Mbah a Moute, and Afflalo still play in the NBA. Hollins played in the NBA for 10 seasons. Farmar had a nice stint in the NBA. Lots of role players on the roster who played overseas.

That team started Howland's 3 year Final Four run. Westbrook came aboard in 2007 for 2 seasons. Love joined in 2008. The starting lineup in 2008 included Westbrook, Collison, Love, and Mbah a Moute. Shipp was a very nice player. The 2008 team finished with 35 wins, and lost to Calipari's great Memphis team in the Final Four.

But this year's team is clearly the best since the title!

Could be- UCLA is a modern team and look to have a pretty good mix of vets and elite young takent. Remains to be seen if they get there. I'm sure they have a few duds in them.

Subthought- for as forward and progressive as Cal is/considers himself, he has ignored today's most fashionable version of basketball- shooters at every position.

Duke's guards will have trouble containing quick and fast guards. This will cause them some defensive pains as it will force their front court to help and get out of position.

They will end up being an offensive juggernaut though as Tatum gets his feel.

Will say Allen really seems to struggle finishing against athletic teams.

Agree. Duke & K can never seem to get the right teambuilding or contain athletic penetrating guards, except when they win the title every 3 years.

Do you not agree?

Keep in mind- along with those titles, they've been past the S16 only one other time since 2004. You can be a ***** about it all you want, but there is logic to the take.

If Cal doesn't let Mulder play through mistakes so we can have a sniper out there for a few minutes here and there... :chairshot:

He also needs to let SKJ play through growing pains bc that kid's ceiling is infinitely higher than Humphries and it's not even close. Can someone please tell me one thing Humprhries does well? He's slow, has bad hands and his lateral quickness is atrocious.

No.

I'm not done with Humphries by any stretch. Richie made a similar post about Harrelson for about 87 consecutive days in 2011, that's a fact.

I actually think he needs more minutes so he can continue to develop & adjust to the college game speed. We are weak AF down low, we're gonna need some help at some point.

Got some major bullets to dodge this year with the blue bloods winning a title. With as much as Cal has talked about catching UCLA, we could have Duke right up our ***.

We need another title soon. We're about to hit the only one national title in the last 20 years window. Not exactly the stuff of dominance. Thanks, O'Tubby!

Harrellson could stroke it and was a much better athlete than most realize. He actually was a quick leaper.

Not done with Humphries but based on demonstrated performance in limited action SKJ is better than Humphries. That simple.

Cal just gets stubborn with his rotation and you're either in or you're out. He was forced to play Willis last year after Skal proved to be not nearly as good as anyone projected and he was also forced to play Harrellson in 2011 due to lack of depth.

Whatever. Think we'll be fine btw SKJ, Willis and Humphries. The Mulder issue though I'm not letting go. He's a better BASKETBALL PLAYER than Hawkins. Love Hawkins but he's an athlete playing basketball. Mulder is a fng hooper and can't stand watching teams pack it in daring us to shoot with an athletic sniper sitting there collecting dust next to Junior Pulliam and the rest of the walk ons.
