:joy: at the idea that Louisville will do anything but fall down at Jurich's feet and beg for forgiveness.

Classic move on his part though, the old "Oh, you're mad? WELL, I'M MORE MAD" stance. Shrewd, especially coming from a man.

At some point, you would hope that they'll get tired of the Brad Wesley act and hire a cooler to pull out his throat or something. Until then - COW TOWN.

I assume Jurich has this guy singing in a caged off area of his home.

The Powerrr (TM) move would be for Mitch to issue a release today saying "Hey guys, we're really happy with Rupp and look forward to continuing our fruitful relationship with Lexington... unlike some rubes (makes pointing motion to the west)" but then secure the landlord rights to The Hole and build a new UK College of Landing on Mars there or something pretty bad ***.

Little known fact, Wesley's smokeshow girlfriend from Roadhouse is also the same hot naked chick in the shower that stabs the FBI agent during the house raid in Point Break.

Speak into the microphone squid brain.

Maybe this has been mentioned before, and if so, sorry for the redundancy, but The Food Lab cookbook is fantastic. I ordered the thing on a whim, because I follow J. Kenji Lopez-Alt for all things sous vide. It's part cookbook and part cooking science textbook. Really cool resource for anyone who cooks for a hobby.

Amazon has it for almost half price...

- Louisville? More like Lousyville. :joy:

- Anyway, why did UK wait a month-and-a-half to schedule another game after UCLA? Oh, it's only been 3 days...

- No Kentucky game to interrupt Santacon this year and in turn, cause me to make even more of fool of myself in public.

- Stevie on "Thats What Christmas Means To Me"- :fire: baby making music.

Wrong. Dr. Capiluto knows UK has all of the leverage with downtown Lexington and that's essentially why he told Brent Rice to go get pumped with his ultimatum.

That being said UK is not going to build an on campus arena.

Barnhart has even said recently that they look forward to being a partner with downtown Lexington. UK wants and will probably get a favorable deal but they are not going to fleece the city of Lexington and bend over taxpayers. That's not how UK operates and they don't want to operate that way.

“If they don’t want us in there just tell us — we’ll leave.”

When I first read that I instantly assumed it was in reference to the rest of the ACC wanting UL to go back to the Big East.

Letting UofL build their own on campus arena and having the Yum Center become fully available for major events, and openly campaigning for an NBA team, would actually be the first "big city" thing this provincial river town did in a long *** time. I'm all for it.

Never understood luxury suites for any sport, if you know, you enjoy watching the game. If I was that loaded, I'm sitting 1st row halfcourt, 50 yard line, or behind home plate. No amount of Ikea seating and ****** appetizers can beat a good view. Suites are for people with too much money that just wanna say they were there.

Think you're wrong on both of those. They'll be playing in a new arena in <10 years. What was said a few weeks means nothing and was likely just a thanks for the new scoreboard and to keep Rupp happy until after the lease. Honestly feel like there's a real possibility of an on campus arena.

For the SEC Tournament, the boss generally gets us lower level suites near mid court. Fantastic view plus free booze and good food.

Sometimes, I'll have to go entertain folks in another lesser suite for a little while and I'd rather be in normal, better seats. But you can't beat a suite that has a great view. Especially one you don't have to pay for.

Plus, you don't have to wait in line or pee next to the poors.

They're awful for watching the game. Especially basketball.

Not with the complete re-vamping of the Civic Center and all of the shops vacating by the end of next year. A total overhaul to attract more convention business is being tied in w/ more Rupp upgrades in a few years.

Still doesn't beat being right beside the benches and seeing and hearing all the goings-on. Live basketball at the floor level might be one of the of the most entertaining tickets you can get. Watching some 6'10" dude glide around effortlessly is amazing, and hearing the players/coaches dialogue is an added bonus.

Agreed. So long as it's two teams you don't really care about, or in my case, baseball anything.

When you roll with Wildcat Willy, you get the best of both worlds.* Ask ol' wcc about the Music City Bowl where we beat Clemson.

Spent the first half in a suite on the 50, spent the 2nd half in the 2nd row on the 40.

*Unless you go to Rupp. Then you sit up in the section where someone died. Unless Anth has extras that day. I love Anth.

Anth...

Dr. Capiluto is a savvy businessman and shrewd as as all get out. He can play that card if need be but in an ideal world UK wants to be downtown. He understands the importance of Rupp in terms of history yet also understands the need for luxury seating revenue plus providing that option for fans.

He also gets and values the relationship btw UK &the city of Lexington.

He really didn't like the city trying to add on all of this extraneous crap piggybacking off of UK basketball and then Brent Rice trying to give the President of University an ultimatum.

They also understand how much more money they can make with an on campus arena and they'll use that card to get the best deal in Rupp they can. Cal is already barking about, "now it's our time." Like I said, we'll know more after they renew the lease and I would anticipate they're either in a new Rupp, a completely renovated Rupp OR an on campus in 10 years.

I don't blame UL for negotiating that deal. Hell of a pull for them. I blame dumb corrupt government goons for bending over and taking it then raising these questions 5 years after it's built and in bankruptcy. Unfortunately but thankfully it put the kibosh on the proposed disaster of a Rupp deal or Lexington would be in the same boat.
