kinda in disbelief Trump won.

Pretty much. I expected a grinding, Alabama-football like victory where the margin looked close but the result was never in doubt.

Oh well, I guess I will get back to paying taxes and whatnot.

I mean, WTF just happened.

The facebook has been gold. Pretty sure the world has ended to some. Thought I would be gloating a lot more this morning, think I'm in shock.

Kind of interesting the things people blasted him about-pledge to support the party nominee, pledge to honor the election results-well where are they now?

Now it's time to turn the page.

I voted for Trump but now I have this weird uneasy feeling about it. I voted for him thinking there was no chance in hell he was going to win so it was almost like a joke vote but now that he actually won I have this weird feeling of dread like I did something I shouldn't have. I hope to god he doesn't embarrass the US like I'm kind of afraid he will. Also people are going to make this election sound like some super mastermind genius campaign run by Trump and his team blah blah blah. Fact of the matter is that Hillary Clinton had to be one of the most unlikeable candidates of all time, she was the true definition of dirty politician and more of the same. Couldn't script a better "opportunistic career politician". This was basically a vote to blow up the system.

*Voted Trump and I am absolutely not ashamed of it. However, I am ashamed I am not ashamed voting for him but that's due to the giant turd he was running against. So for that, eat **** Hillary.

*Now the election is over, we can focus on more important things. Like a 6th win, basketball season, and eating steak in multiple cities over the next month or so.

Wait, did I miss something?

Honestly the presidential election followed the KY governor's race almost to a t. Republicans nominate a relative political newcomer who shows signs of being a little odd during the campaign, polls consistently have him losing, but his opponent is a candidate hand picked by the Democratic Party who inspires zero enthusiasm in the general electorate. Turns out the general electorate is pissed and vote in the "change" guy over the party's milk and toast.

Sucks that I'm about to lose a lot of good friends.

I don't know how to respect your decision. I don't know how to look you in the eye. I don't know how to be ok with your acceptance of how this person openly treats women and others not like him. I shouldn't have to be. I won't ever be. That's what we've done for entirely too long. And if any system is going to be overthrown it's going to be that one. #thisonesformom#mygirlswillrise#strongertogether

The real loser here is those people banking on selling Hillary Clinton Collector Silver Dollars to commemorate this historic election. Puppies scent.

According to facebook anyone who voted Trump has to explain to their lesbianbigayblackwomenasianmuslim friends why they don't matter to you.

These are the people who really piss me off because they just don't get it. These Trump people by and large aren't horrible human beings. I grew up with these people. They're not racist or sexist or bigots. They're people who are tired of hearing everyone else bitching and wondering- what about us? White privilege? These people are as down on their luck as any. They're scared they're being left behind so pardon them for not being too concerned about every other group and their feelings. I think a lot of this Trumpism is backlash to PC run amok. I think they're off but I get it. I understand where they're coming from and don't condemm them as terrible people.

I'm a lifelong Dem, and, as I've stated have always liked Hillary. Trump scares me- lets hope his bark is worse than his bite. But liberal elitism is getting very annoying and the media and all these snarky pricks are getting to be as bad to me as the typical far rightwinger.

2.5 hours of sleep tho.:weary:
Same. I'm going to try to snort coffee grounds so I can stay up this morning.

Also, I feel sick due to all the coffee I've consumed over the last 12 hours. One moment I'm ready to fall asleep, the next I'm gearing up to do a 60 yard sprint to my desk.

Oh and, honest to God, @B.B.d.K. me posting that IG of Lil Flip wasn't a political post. Popped up on my playlist during a run and couldn't get it out of my head. Didn't know what the hell you were talking about for a minute.

So financial balls, how bad is the market really right now?

Well right now the stock market is at an all time high, unemployment is low, manufacturing is up, interest rates are at historic lows, real estate is surging, and gas prices are affordable.

I'm just glad, regardless of who was elected, that someone is here to fix this disaster we're in.

I've seen a couple of Facebook posts from my mom's friends...the hardcore Democrats must have the same feeling this morning that Coach K and Roy Williams have the morning after they've lost to Mark Gottfried.

Max's point was the best RE: the Kentucky gubernatorial election. I'm Republican and I didn't like Matt Bevin, just like I didn't like Trump, just like I didn't really like George W. Bush. And the Democrats couldn't come up with candidates good enough to beat THOSE guys? Suck less then.

* College basketballs: How important do you think it is to have ace recruiting assistants when the head coach is the best to ever do it? Got a buddy who feels like it's THE reason why Duke's recruiting has surged lately and John Robic sucks and Tony Barbee sucks and Duke's going to hit all our targets and whatever. I still feel like the truly insane 2015 class aside, Cal has largely gotten whoever he has wanted, regardless of who's on his staff. I mean what's to hate about John Robic?

No biggie Chadder, thought you were being slick. :sunglasses:

I seriously have not stayed up that late, maybe ever, without illegal assistance. Considered just pulling the all-nighter for a minute...then I woke up. Thankfully, I only had a few beers and didn't drink after midnight -- still feel about like a mid 20's Highlands run, shutting down @mosphere, hitting Labamba's, and watching the sun come up bullshitting on a couch.

That's awesome for people in Eastern Kentucky, rural Ohio/Michigan/Wisconsin...I'm sure they check their stock portfolio every morning.

Next talking point will be getting rid of the Electoral College. They'll say it doesn't reflect the 'will of the people'. That's how the president is picked, so that's how campaigns are built. She's running up the score in states he didn't bother to spend a dime in or visit once. If the president were picked by popular vote, campaigns would be built much differently. The goal is to win the election. They give you a set of rules. You play by those rules to achieve the goal. You can't just say in a vacuum that she would have won if it were not for the Electoral College.

He would have beat her no matter the rules. If you are being honest you can see his people put him exactly where he needed to be. They got a bigoted, male chauvinist that makes fun of disabled folks elected. I don't know if my family should be terrified or impressed.

My sons are twelve and I can't shake the feeling that he will get them in a war that his grandsons will never fight in.
