1st and goal, and a touchdown might seal the win....and the play-calling was questionable. Then Stoops jumps in and yells at Gran to throw the *%! ball, and they throw a fade route on 3rd down. The fade can work in the NFL, but not when you're UK with a backup QB throwing. So they get the field goal and leave enough time for Georgia to march downfield.

Should Stoops have intervened like that? Should Gran have told him to p!ss off? Or was Gran going to make that call anyway?

Missed opportunities in this game. Had it in their grasp (literally), and dropped it.

If you're going to abandon the Wildcat, which I honestly didn't have a problem with because Benny appeared to be running out of steam a little and UGA was focusing in on it, at least make it a run-pass option instead of some BS fade route that had absolutely no chance in hell of being successful .

Yep. The fade route is not a good play call for most college teams, especially those with a backup QB who isn't an accurate thrower and who hasn't thrown the ball in no-telling-how-many-plays. It requires so much touch and precision.

Stoops used up some serious coach-goodwill today. Fan base showed up and CWS was absolutely electric.

This one's on Eddie Gran...uump out to a 21-13 lead early in the 3Q and just threw out 95% of the playbook. Defense, for the most part, played pretty lights out. Some bend-but-don't-break, but overall, got stops after the offense kept gifting UGA prime field position.

F*cking Badet....[sick]

Run the fade on 1st down, if you want. Don't hamstring your QB on 3rd and goal with an all-or-nothing play. Just a ******, ****** play call....

Questionable game management, bottom line!

1- If we are going to settle for the FG(I'll explain later) then we should have been running the clock down to 5 on the wildcat drive instead of 18.........12 plays in a row. Almost 2 extra minutes we could have killed.

2- Bring the QB back in on 1st and goal. The wildcat worked and was awesome to see Benny run, truck and jump for 1st downs but on an extremely short field 1st and goal from the 9 allowed them to over stack the box. To keep running the wildcat was overly conservative and a play for the tie instead of the lead.

Also, and this is just a minimal thing, if you are going to wildcat over and over you may want to try the WR reverse now and again to misdirect the defense.

3- The GD defense on that last drive was embarrassing! Did we really think they would do much to make Eason win? 8 yd hitch 4 plays in a row. They didn't trust his *** at all and our defense play calling was off.

Then to get in the post game and say stupid **** like "I just felt we were off and our communication was off and if we just made a solid tackle".........

Look you earned a lot of respect and leeway the past few weeks do not be stupid here. Come out and blame yourself for that loss and be accountable for your f'n team you non leading POS.

I want to like Stoops and I want to not question him, but for Fs sake learn when and when not to play to the crowd, players, and most of all when to just STFU.

Mississippi State beating the touching #4 team in the nation today. What would we give for that?

How many times do we have to give everything for a home game just to be disappointed again? It feels like we may never get that *big* win. Everything was lined up.

Belles rooftop is dope tho.

I honestly don't know how to feel about that one. Lots of conflicting fan feelings right now. I want to be proud of them and believe this staff has turned a corner, but on the other hand, HELLO 6-6!!! You only get so many chainces at a terrible schedule in the SEC. Poop.

Central Time 'bout to get dark af today (at five).

The environment was incredible last night. Fans showed up and were hyped up. Felt like the 2006-2008 seasons there for a bit.

And the music. Wow. Best upgrade ever. I know they've been doing it for awhile, but now the timing is right on everything. 3rd Downs...Coal Whistle is DOPE btw. After touchdowns...the Grove St. Party dancing is awesome. Props to the music coordinator (DJ). [thumb2]

Yup. On the one hand, we are (almost magically) a helluva lot better as a team and a program than we looked after the Southern Miss and Florida debacles. On the other, the story of Mark Stoops so far is that we can get thisclose to turning things around but not quite.

My hope is that with a month of bowl practices, some continuity with Gran in charge of the offense next year and Stoops settling in with some head coaching experience, a roster that will entirely be Stoops guys and will finally have some experience, and (I guess) the return of Barker that next year could be the year we make some noise.

We are objectively better than we were at the beginning of the year. Hopefully that continues.

The difference in the game was the 2 WR turnovers. Kept the Defense on the field for most of the 2nd Half. And the Defense was completely gassed. Can't leave the Defense out there for almost 15 minutes in the 3Q without consequences at the end of the game.

It's a shame. B/c the SEC East doesn't come ripe for the taking but once in a decade. Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, etc. won't all be down for long.

I would love to see Boom and Benny run the zone/inside read together. Those two would really pound the hell out of a tired defense and keep them guessing.

Had a blast yesterday, everything was perfect until that final UGa drive. Best crowd I've been a part of since 07.

Still trying to figure out how our best WR gets hit in stride with two steps on the DB and nothing but end zone in front of him and it gets picked...I mean, just a regular drop and we probably win that game.

Our punting really hurts us in these tight games.

Like the wildcat, love Snell, but the more tape that goes out to other teams of this offense the more we need SJ tans the receivers to step up and make plays.

I'm not conceding UT or UL.

You're wrong, Hank. This team is absolutely atrocious. Gran can't coach worth a lick. All prior conference wins don't matter. They pussyfooted all night long last night and there was zero effort.

IT SUCKS that a few plays here and there didn't go our way and we bumbled an awesome opportunity in the best atmosphere from start to finish I've ever seen at Commonwealth. That being said it's hysterical that people in this day age are OMG WE ARE THE BEST & EVERYTHING IS AWESOME OR THIS IS THE WORST DAY IN UK FOOTBALL HISTORY. THIS TEAM IS GARBAGE. MY LIFE SUCKS.

Good grief. Can people process perspective anymore or do we live in a world of extremes.

Our defense played their *** off last night. I don't understand the soft coverage in the last drive but they were cooked. Anyone who says there was a lack of effort is a moron. Plain & simple.

Offensively, if one dude nails his block or a UGA player bites then Benny scores and then OMG GRAN IS A GENUIS. Thought the 2 straight wildcat plays with Benny was poor play calling but Gran has been really good this year.

I thought they should have thrown in some of those wildcat formation wrinkles on that final drive, especially in the red zone. Benny was gassed and that Badet sweep looked good earlier in the game.

Going from the second half of the SMU game and Florida game to where we are now is completely unexpected and been one hell of a turnaround. Yes it's awful we lost on a last second drive to Georgia to go into first place in the SEC east but for me to even type that is pretty remarkable considering where we were at the beginning of the season. There is a lot to be optimistic about going forward unless you're a cynical douchebag. We don't even have a effing quarterback. Would be pretty awesome if we can pull off something with either UT or UL, which I'm not ready to rule out.

Agree with Rich

-Marcus McClinton is an amazing upgrade over JL. Can't be overstated. Almost immediately became my favorite former player after last night

-Kaylee Hartung is unreal up close in person. Camera does her no justice

-something I saw that bothered me a lot about Westry. He pulled himself out during the last drive when GA was still passing. Didn't *seem* hurt or tired either. Looked like the staff tried ignoring him but he kept running off the field anyway and Harmon jumped on real quick. Disturbing, but unmistakable, it happened 5 feet in front of me.

-***** about Gran all you want but dropped passes (Badet, Baker, Juice, Conrad) + juice fumbling and Badet's complete crapping of the bed made it infinitely worse than it really was for the offense.

-highly frustrating loss jerked from the jaws of victory but it wasn't a step back.

-the East is garbage... but we've been the bottom barrel for years. It's nice to be looking down at USC, Vandy, and Mizzou while being eye to eye with the Georgias/Mississippi states of the conference

From this mornings LHL.

Kentucky now has turned the ball over 22 times this season, resulting in 86 points for opponents.

We are 124/128 in TO margin in the the FBS. :joy:

Richie, the players themselves said they lacked intensity last night. I don't think a damn person who watched would question their effort, but the players themselves? In that environment? What the hell?

Feel like Stoops would do himself a big favor if he didn't talk. Ever. Clearly he has a football brain, but every time he speaks he seems like a gd idiot.

Obviously coaches put the players in a position to win, but the last 4 minutes of the game was just insanely frustrating. And I think we all knew it was coming, too.

Excellent atmosphere last night! Couldn't ask for better. The crowd was ready to explode on numerous occasions.

The Badet play was the killer. Everything else aside, we win if he catches it. Period!

I saw Geno Atkins waiting in the restroom line. Can't believe that guy is one of the top d-linemen in the NFL. He's big but not massive. I wouldn't mess with him though.

Hit up Ya Ya Gumbo prior to the game. It was my 2nd visit and has been thunder both times. How long has that place been open?

I don't care what anyone says, we were better than Georgia. That game was ours. Unfortunately we're the Plaxico Burress of college football. We continually shoot ourselves.
