73... That was 20 years ago and Boston HATED Pitino. Plus, that was right at Jordan's last year or post Jordan and the style of play in The League sucked back then. Too much ISO, hack/hack/hack.

Louisville could actually have a professional basketball team and still have great restaurants. Pretty sure these major league cities that have professional franchises have solid dining scenses.

Plus, having a NBA team in Louisville wold also attract fans and businesses in Lexington, Cincy and Nashville to spend money on tickets and come to games. On average a NBA ticket is less than attending a UK or UL game. Certain franchises also do a great job coming up with reasonable ticket packages... Month to month, weekend only.

Whether this backwards *** city realizes it or not cities are judged by the big boys if you have a major league professional sports franchise. Businesses and attractive candidates out of college would find Louisville more appealing if it had one. Hate to say it, college basketball is a niche sport. Love it but that's the reality.

If LeBron came into town to play The Colonels it would be an event. Not to mention catching AD, KAT, Cousins, Wall, on and on and on.

That's ok. Good ole Mayberry has the Bel Bev Devoe grown and sexy reunion concert coming to YUM this April! When can we get the Lumineers back in town? Disney on Ice?

Give me the Kentucky Colonels with the same color scheme and I'd be a huge NBA honk.

Shew...

Have wet dreams about this Arena Authority Commitee audit. Like, the state government saying...

SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP, GLASSCOCK, CARMICHAEL, & OTHER FRIENDS OF PITINO. YOU ARE NO LONGER TELLING US WHATS GOOD FOR THIS CITY. THIS LEASE IS NO LONGER VALID. GOT IT? WE ARE OPENLY LOOKING TO BRING A NBA FRANCHISE HERE.
Because if there's one institution that's known for fast action and rooting out corrupt practices, it's the Kentucky state government.

When we do get an NBA team I hope you northern Kentucky dbags realize that you will NOT be naturalized into gyero approved fanhood. You're F'n out.

Enjoy the Cayuvs.
False. When we all eventually pony up for a multi-million dollar stadium upgrade funded by our tax dollars, we'll actually have more skin in the game than our beloved Reds and Bengals, who we merely "enjoy" while those poor saps across the river pay for the stadia instead of schools.

Looking forward to crippling debt and a 37 win season, Wildcat and Team Name TBD friend!

I do a lot of relocation consulting for big business and I guess we keep on forgetting to put "professional sports franchise" in the model. Thanks, I'll get that model updated and in front of my clients ASAP!"

The Louisville NBA discussion is hilarious because both sides are peak Louisville.

Pro side: If we get a team we will be relevant and people will think Louisville is a world class city, not a provincial river town with not much more to offer than 30 other similar sized cities.

Con side: We can't have an NBA team because it will hurt our second rate university and the personal clout of local two-bit developers

Richie's take was that of a lazy man. BUILD AN NBA FRANCHISE AND ALL THE FORTUNE 100 COMPANIES WILL FLOCK TO THE RIVER CITY!!1!1

Umm... No, Bonzo. Never said Louisville would all of a sudden become the Mecca for all Fortune 500 companies to flock to. It would how ever have a direct and indirect positive influence on this town much more than just basketball.

The arena is already there and it's going bankrupt.

I watched that live the other night because Im a degenerate gambler, I watch pretty much all of the WSOP because Im a closet big game card playing junkie that likes to hit the poker room at the casina and the occassional big money game at a nearby country club, and that Kousoff dude deserved to be punched in the face. He did that **** the entire tournament and every single day got into it with everyone at the table. Ive never seen anyone run their mouth like that, not even BBDK could keep up with that dudes mouth.

That guy is a gigantic douche, but I cringed at the guy yelling "abuse" and "check your privilege" over and over. I mean, that was actually much more embarrassing than Kousoff being an *******.

Would've enjoyed it much more if he'd kept this mouth shut, and then punched Kousoff in the face instead of shaking his hand when he was knocked out.

I don't see Nashville being a player in the Louisville NBA team attraction. If they aren't rolling down to a Grizzlies game, they aren't coming to Squirt City.

If we get an NBA team, and its named The Louisville _____ instead of The Kentucky _____, I'm 100% out. I'm not rooting for a basketball team named Louisville. Just isn't happening. Don't care if it makes me petty or whatever, I'm F'ing out.
Kentucky Colonels would be an absolute no-brainer. I'd be shocked if it was anything else tbh. Also, it's not going to happen.

I thought we were a bigger lock for him than just about anyone for a long time, dunno. Maybe he's seen all he needs to see and is over the process, or maybe he's overrated and scared b/c Kentucky isn't for everyone.

Update: TJ Walker says Kentucky has a shot along w/ a few other schools, and he may come here or choose one of the other schools.

The thing I love about Coach Cal is that he keeps it 100 with you. Kentucky isn’t for everybody, but he’s seen the way I play with a chip on my shoulder and he told me that Kentucky is for me.

Enjoy the Cayuvs.

If the team is named "Kentucky," they represent all Kentuckians. If it's "Louisville," F'm. Hope they lose every game.

Moot point, anyway. Your **** town is run by UofL's AD and he won't allow it.

-Athenian Grill just delivers. Can't get much healthier lunch option than greek salad with chicken on top.

-Kentucky Colonels. :scream:

-Puppies to Rich and the new Dads. The new pediatric recommendation for the little crying poop sacks to sleep in the SAME ROOM as Mom & Dad for the entire first year is not going to be fun. Really glad we missed that sucker by a year. Feel pretty blessed, like the world is paying me back for being the first class back in the 90's that got shafted with drivers license moving from 16 and one month to 16 and 6 months. Been waiting for that payback.
