I like UNC right where they are right now: scandal-ridden, good enough to not be completely forgotten but no threat to do anything, led by a HOF coach who is clearly coasting to retirement and could be there for up to another decade, ruining their holier-than-thou reputation, etc.

Yup. I like where UNC is right now.

IU, too.

Pretty sure no one gets worked up about "their" NBA, WNBA, EPL, Sri Lankan cricker team. That's the difference; picking a team you have no association with to "follow" is a helluva lot different than picking a team that you act like is on par with your UK fandom.

I hate Louisville and it's fans more but if I were handing out death penalties, it's UNC and no one else is close. All the sanctimonious St. Dean Smith and good ol' Roy can be shoved up their and the media's collective asses. Louisville fans perception of their "clean" program is a fantasy only in the shallow recesses of their minds and no one elses.

Just can't overstate how big of a loss Oscar Combs is. His folksy, country bumpkin style and storied history were so important to the overall production. You just can't replace a guy like that.

maybe if UKO posted more there would be an increase in visual reminders UNC almost won the most recent title game

Tennessee.

Regular season college basketball is irrelevant enough without giving one of the big boys the death penalty.

Plus, I hate Tennessee.

I understand the Feds likely wouldn't be interested in this case (although you never know since it's relatively high profile), but I'm almost certain McGee, and probably others, violated the Mann Act. He pretty clearly transported minors across state lines to bang whores. He also used a phone from in-state, out of state, and wired money to a ***** to bang a minor.

Just the sniff of a Federal investigation into UofL would be unreal, and an enormous bowl of boner soup.

  • The Mann Act is violated when a defendant crosses the state line with the requisite intent to engage in criminal sexual activity.
  • Even a single interstate transportation knowingly to commit immoral sexual activity will amount to a violation of the Mann Act.
  • A person can be prosecuted for the offense of causing transportation of a person in interstate commerce for certain proscribed purposes, and the offense of inducing a person to go in interstate commerce for like purposes.
  • The Act made it a felony to transport knowingly any person in interstate commerce or foreign commerce for prostitution, or any other immoral purpose. It also made it a felony to coerce an individual into such immoral acts.
  • When a person by persuasion, inducement, enticement, or coercion transports an individual through a facility in interstate or foreign commerce to engage in prostitution or in any sexual activity it will be an offense under the Act. If the individual transported is below 18 years also, it will constitute an offense.
  • A telephone is categorized as a facility in interstate commerce. Therefore, even an intrastate telephonic conversation with an intention to commit the crime of immoral traffic will constitute an offense.

If McGee gets charged, while Rick Pitino gets to keep his $5 million/year job and the Louisville basketball program merely gets a slap on the wrist, thats absolute ********.

He was a mid 20s baller that hooked some college kids up with easy P. May sound disgusting, but leave the guy alone. The story isn't McGee, it's the entire culture of acceptance surrounding that vile program. There's much bigger fish to fry here.

Umm, the recruits were in high school.

I agree with you. The biggest ******** slap in the face of this entire thing is the media/people/whoever acting like someone else on the staff wasn't involved.

I'd like to know just two things:
  • Why McGee would spend his own money to help UofL land a recruit when he no longer worked there.
  • How McGee even knew he needed to set up a ***** for Blakeney when he wasn't working for UofL anymore, and wasn't even in the same state.

Root for whoever you want, but don't get pissy when no one has any respect for your fandom. We take sports seriously and there's a big difference between a lifelong "born" fan (whether through hometown/homestate or family) and some dude that just decided to be a fan of somebody...which shockingly always ends up being a HUGE bandwagon team. At least Randall decided to be a fan of the unpopular, ****** T-wolves.

I don't have an NBA team. I have the Reds, Bengals and UK football and basketball, just like I have for 37 years.
I totally agree. There is no love like UK, of its born and bred into you. I've told my mother the same. People that come to UK from out of state and love it, I appreciate their fandom. But they have no idea how deep in your blood it runs. I love some Cubs baseball but it's a FAAAAR second on my list.

Somebody disguised as a city worker jack hammered Trump's star on the Hollywood walk of fame.[laughing]

New CNN poll has him leading HRC in Florida today.

Wife's grandmother's visitation was very short, maybe 2-3 hours, and the service the next morning. My aunt's was 8 hours one day and 3 the next morning.

A Catholic funeral always includes a funeral mass after the visitation, burial, then a dinner for the family back at the church.

The Trump star has been vandalized numerous times this year. Really surprised the jackhammer treatment didn't come sooner.

UK Basketball is truly my one and only live and die with the moment team. Nothing will ever change that. No team will ever come close. It's the one team that is in my blood. When I look at my highest of highs and lowest of lows moments as a sports fan, this is what I come up with:

Highs -

1. 1996 National Championship
2. 2012 National Championship
3. 1998 National Championship

Lows -

1. The Loss to Michigan in 1993
2. The Loss to West Virginia in 2010
3. The Loss to Wisconsin in 2015

Any of the above could be switched for the other, but the feelings of joy and pain at those moments was off the charts.

I have 50,000+ posts on a message board dedicated to UK Sports...namely UK Basketball. The LSU win in football was pretty awesome, but not to the level of the above. 1996 will never be topped.

I find it hard to believe that "somebody disguised as a city worker" is leading the CNN poll in Florida.

Well, not that hard to believe, actually now that I think about it.
