Theo Epstein has the opportunity to have exorcised not one but TWO of the most renowned, longest-standing curses in not just baseball, but in all of sports.

Pretty decent legacy for a 43-year old*.

*More respectable than Rick Pitino's.

Intrawebs, not sure where they're sold in store.

Picked a new set of leather "sneakers." They're gorgeous.

Wow maybe I'll just google leather sneakers then. Thanks!
Or just drive to Nashville I guess and try some on. Most places have really friendly return policies these days. So if you order something and don't like it you can print out a label and send it back. Personally I just peruse the discount websites for a while until something pops up that I like for a good price.

If you want something in hand try Von Maur or J&M I guess.

I'm a advocate for bringing in the occasional breakfast snacks for colleagues. A few bucks here and there to seemingly keep the folks happy. Switched it up this morning and brought in a bunch of those cinnamon bites from taco bell. Which arent at all breakfast. But my goodness the masses swarmed all over them. Legitimate anger when they were gone.

Have to go to some early gameday receptions tomorrow and them i'm sheet rocking the rest of the day. Been a well known plan of action for some time in my household.
Wife asks yesterday: "You want to go to the beach tomorrow- we're flying down on (family members) plane but we'll be back by lunch on Sunday." And then when i reply that I obviously cant go- she fires back with the "well you'll get more done if I stay out of your way i'll just see if (insert bestie) can fly down and back with us."

Full disclosure i'm not really too thrilled about flying in a Cessna. A bit smaller than I like my aircraft. I've been around her family nearly a decade and have always found a reason to avoid flying and "i'll just drive down later and meet you all"

Gameday set up going on- makes campus a cluster. There were A&M fans just walking aimlessly around campus at 7:45 this morning. There is something a little odd about that fan base. Just a bit different.

Think my dad has talked himself into going up to Wrigley on Sunday if there is a game that night. He's doing Keeneland/UK game saturday, then potentially driving to Chicago Sunday. Retirement, man.

* Cubs are absolutely steamrolling right now. As much as I clown on their idiotic fans (nationwide, not actual Chicagoans), I would love to see them win the World Series. Maddon and Epstein are fantastic. Their team is loaded with awesome, young talent. Aroldis Chapman. And, most importantly, watching a World Series take place in one of the most venerable stadiums in the country = :baseball:. We all win, imo.

False. Go Tribe.

GGP, bandwagoners.

Women have taken the boot craze that's been so popular and brought the length all the way to the knee, or even above It looks ridiculous. Some women wear like the horse type boots that those dope *** women in those tight pants wear when they ride around on their horsey, and then some just wear what appears to be the standard black knee high hooker boot, and some wear that standard cowboy boot with the sundress but now they go all the way to the knee. It's a weird look that cannot be pulled off as easily as those normal, calf length boots.

- Monkey Shoulder for a good every day Scotch.

when you want to get on a step ladder and grab some top shelf goodness.

- Listening to DC sports radio last night and the difference in how they discuss the Pitino kerfuffle is night and day the local shows here. Refreshing, actually.

Takes them > 10 minutes to adjudicate the case from stem to stern and all agree that with the way he micromanages his teams, no chance in hell he didn't know about 11 sex acts. And if he didn't, there's your lack of institutional control. Done and done.

We're knee deep in the **** here and folks are either accused of bias or homerism. Defenders bring in what Cal / Boeheim / Roy / et al have done in the past. Hearing outsiders discuss it with no dog in the fight is a lot easier to digest. They don't care about UofL or Pitino, they just call a spade a spade.

Max and others linked national writers yesterday and they all came to the same conclusion. It's only the local media that buys Floyd St's crap.

- Also why college athletics should just do away with the amateur label. For football and basketball at least. There isn't a fool left who believes the teams in those sports are clean.

- I could jump out of a C-130 and land safely with only the use of the dress shirt I saw the good doctor sporting recently on Facebook. Best to sit out the clothing discussions, PhD.

- Snagged a pair of Ariat boots 6 tears ago on the morning of our roadie to Neyland and the infamous Joker punt. Comfortable as all getout. But...

...that's before I re-calibrated my Gam3day wardrobe to account for potentially running into clients. Will overhaul immediately.

- I don't use an ink pen often, but when I do, it's Bettoni or nothing.

- 5 songs to add to the COAL WHISTLE rotation:

* Kickstart My Heart
* More Human than Human
* Running with the Devil
* Iron Man
* Body Count

So now we have the Craft center for basketball and football.

Wish I had $4.7 million sitting around for a rainy day... Thanks a lot Obama.

He needs to get it on a podcast.
You can watch the episodes and/or clips on heykentucky.com. It's basically a TV podcast.

'Tragic life of Robert Peace' is an excellent book. One of my favorites of the last few years. Especially if you're our age.
Do we have this book? I would like to read it. Though it just made me tear up thinking about it when I read the description.

Came across those, Anth. Where would a chubby/balding 30-something year old man with over 22,000 posts on a UK messageboard grip a pair?
I would say Von Maur has Frye's if you are wanting them in time for tomorrow. Or online. My blue boots are Frye's and I love them. I have them shined up and repaired as needed each summer and they get me through football and basketball season.

Full disclosure i'm not really too thrilled about flying in a Cessna. A bit smaller than I like my aircraft. I've been around her family nearly a decade and have always found a reason to avoid flying and "i'll just drive down later and meet you all".
I just want some private aviation in my life. Can I go to the beach with your wife? I do think I would be scared on a Cessna though.

-Jersey Girl actually made it to Lexington. Blue/White game and Tony's.

-Glad Anth decided not to try to make it to the 4Q of the football game. My estimations on a 365 guest wedding was that dinner wouldn't be over until at least 9p.m. and we would look like asses leaving early just the same as if we had RSVP'd "no". The groom has TV's set up, so we can watch it. I'm hoping for a win and then maybe get the fan base pumped up for UGA.

-My list of errands for today is a little out of control and unattainable, especially with the crap I need to get done for work.

-Green smoothie as my go to breakfast. Banana, spinach, avocado, cacao powder, chia seeds, almond milk and coconut water.
