That reminds me of a time I had all of my buddies over to play basketball. Afterwards, we spilled into the house where one friend opened the fridge noticing Sunny D which excited all of us as we were thirsty and loved that refreshing drink. They all complimented my mom for being so cool and thoughtful having the fruity concoction on hand. One of my friends even remarked that Sunny D has solar energy.
I had a similar experience, only got clowned HARD when my friends saw that my mom had bought some purple stuff. lol I deserved it though, what a clown.

Speaking of which, my favorite All-Time commercials has to be Tubby Smith's "Hongry" Rafferty's commercial.

Gambol is great. Cracks me up to hear PTI(pti) judge and talk down about how stupid it is.

If you're responsible, it's great fun. I'm about even sports wise over the last 5 years, and if I wasn't...it would still be worth it. Down about 1K on Casino gambling over the same time period, and that's a bargain. The only time I bet irresponsibly is when I'm up big, which I shouldn't do but whatever.

If you look at it as investing in "fun", which it is, I don't see the issue. Ursch pays $500+++ every other weekend all expenses included to go run around a public space, b/c that's something he enjoys -- what's the difference? That money is gone as soon as you pay the entry fee and book your hotel.

In Anth's case, $500 per year to have fun and interesting sports to watch any time you want where you are invested in the outcome...not to mention the thrill when you win and/or collect? #worship

Or taking out $100 (or whatever is comfortable for you to lose) to flush at the Horse Track? Worth it.

Winning is just the icing.

Had a friend with a superhot young step-mom and a pool. She was always bouncing around in a swimsuit and making snacks for us, which were not particularly great, but the view was amazing. Always enjoyed letting him know how lucky he was.

Shew.

Always found Hal Mumme to be a pretty tremendous pitch man, too. I really wish it would've worked out with him.

Umm, the difference is that you can drink while you gamble, that gambling isn't physically painful, and also that gambling doesn't involve running all over God's creation with chafed nipples and a bunch of gaunt nerds.

But hey, cool t-shirts, runners.

^ we had those big Orange Gott Jugs of that delivered for Field Day back in Grade/Middle school, was the jam.

Pretty sure it wasn't actually Hi-C back then, but could be wrong.

* Poor BBdK. Guy has no concept of what I actually do on weekends. I occasionally spend a lot on a destination race, indeed. But most of my ultras cost $50-$100, and I camp out more than half the time. My total expense for the entire weekend, including travel/food/gas/spending money/race fee/etc is often less than 200 bucks.

* <-- has never, ever been against casual sports gambling. That's silliness.

I've never owned a black suit (and wouldn't to begin with, but I digress), but put a tux on, sport. It's a good opportunity to not look like a rube, which it sounds like the rest of your party will have covered pretty well.

Oh. I stand corrected.

Poor BBdK. Only $200 b/c camping. #roasted :flushed:

Guess I need to work on my concept of what PTI(pti) does in his spare time; but pretty sure I have it down.

-Here we go w/ 70s/80s movie boob nostalgia for the 872nd time. '73 just called it a short day at work and is getting riled up right about now!!!! Can't wait.

I planned on it but the guys I'm going with will be in suits or sport coats.

What the hell is wrong with a clean black suit for a wedding or a funeral? It'll probably have some texture anyway. I'm in the market for a navy suit as well but I'm going to put some time in that one.

My wife mentioned once that one of her friends didn't have a gag reflex. After you hear that, you can never look at that person the same way again.

So what kind of discussion were you having that caused your wife to mention that Hen X didn't have a gag reflex? Doesn't seem like something that just comes up during dinner.

I'll grant that it isn't a huge faux pas, but I think they're tacky, particularly in this situation.

Black tie optional means tux. Come on, Chevy Chaser.

Bought a tux a few months ago. Not much more than renting the standard required wedding get-up and not gross.

I had to go to two back to back black tie ONLY weddings last year. After spending 300 dollars to rent these two tuxes for these ridiculously upscale weddings I was pretty GD annoyed. However, the plus side to it is I looked unbelievably amazing (might have even looked decent if I had a beard with those things) and it was really fun getting absolutely hammered and smoking cigars while wearing a tux. Its nice to class it up every now and then imo.

And if you're lucky enough to be single at one of those things, shew. Not too hard to get laid if you're wearing a tux.

I'm not wearing it a business meeting, man. Black suits have a place. Especially since I'm a pallbearer about twice a year.
