Saw Girl on the Train last night. Not bad. Has a bit of a Gone Girl type twist NO SPOILERS THOUGH. This gal Haley Bennett that co-stars... man. Has a real Jennifer Lawrence vibe. Like you may not be able to tell them apart. She plays a ****** seductress type well.

Took my gal out for a post movie milk shake on the way home. Building equity mid-week is the key.

Chris Stapleton here at a smaller amphitheater tonight. Should be dope.

Enjoyed the book.

Great call on mid-week equity, I don't play that card near as much as I should.

-DirecTV has quieted down in the rankings.

-About 8 days of growth on my face. Never had a beard so wanted to give it a shot. It's alright; not too big of a fan though tbh. Will probably give it the weekend and then go back to clean shaven. Man with his name on the door here walked by my office yesterday, stopped, looked at my face and said, "Nice F'n razor, Brooks," then walked off. Hates facial hair, apparently.

-Fleet Foxes with a new album in the works. Might be dope? Like their old stuff.

-Had a big thing for Christine Taylor back in the 90's. Still smoke, which is great to see.

-Lass is leaving town Saturday afternoon for work and won't be back until Thursday, so single Dad duties forthcoming. My Mom is offering to watch the little one this Saturday night so I can go out and drink beers, but likely just take a knee. Once I get her down having the living room/TV to myself sounds pretty nice. We'll see. My wife is great and all, but nice to have her out of the house for a few days.

-Got sucked into watching Timeless on NBC the other night. Pretty entertaining, actually. With everything I watch basically being HBO, Showtime, or AMC it was kind of refreshing to enjoy a Network program, but the disparities were glaring in production/acting/storylines. Still, it's an interesting plot and I enjoyed. Recommended if you need some filler TV. Also, Abigail Spencer.

-A 12 year old in school with writing assignments does, Rob.

-Gyero needs more long form. Randoms are the back bone and start the flow for the day. One liners have continued to gain popularity because they get likes.

-Duke is going to be sick. They're flat loaded but as we saw the last few seasons everyone is vulnerable, specifically in march. Not having a true PG is something I'd be worried about. Especially if I was facing a nasty group of guards that is going to be in your face as soon as you pass 1/2 court. If I'm Giles there is no way I play one second this season. Practice, train, go to the combine and get picked mid first round.

-Need to read Girl on a Train but I have about 8 books in the queue.

-October has been fantastic. My preferred weather, actually. Low 80's and in the 60's at night. CAN'T WAIT FOR FALL BACK!!! 4:30 sunset!!!

-Woke up at 7 after first night of sleep this week, said touch it, went back down for another hour. Feel great. Man, I could have slept until noon.

-Think my next purchase is going to be a couple custom sports coats. Been looking for some deals online but I'm pretty sure I'm just going to pony up and have KC make them.

Oh yeah, forgot.

-Kathy Ireland, Topanga and Tiffany-Amber were my first loves.

-Not sure where our old school papers would be. Something I might try and dig up.

-Shave a few times per week and act like a reasonable adult. Beards are awful and disgusting.

-TCP Basketball Yearbook picked up this morning. As a kid, used to wait for that drop almost as anxiously as I waited for Christmas morning. Local drug store owner(and neighbor) would let me know when they'd arrived so that I could buy the first copy.

-Another sign we're getting old.....Glenn Al-Amin has a son that's now one of the top players in the class of 2017. Seems like just yesterday that Glenn was leading UConn to the national title.

-"Cloak and Dagger"....now THAT was a great 80's kid flick. Started watching it with my kid the other day. Probably not a great idea, since a key scene involves the bad guys breaking into the kid's house while he's there alone. Forgot how terrifying something like that can be when you're that age.

-Vince Guaraldi....now THAT guy could make some music. Pretty much daily listening at my desk. /old

I used to get all excited about the Blue Ribbon Basketball Yearbook. Not sure if that even exists anymore.

Always respect the GYERO college basketballs that are already on top of opponents' outlooks for the season. I'm still trying to figure out who the hell is on OUR team, much less Duke, UofL, etc.

If you follow last season and recruiting/all american tour how can you not know what the other teams are going to have? Specifically our rivals.

Haven't purchased Blue Ribbon in forever, but it's still King. Chris Dortch is great.

Was talking with Harmon the other day about it, may need to do that for old time's sake. He had just purchased Lindys and Athlon. [eyeroll] Sporting News ftw if you are going w/ a skinny one.

Picking up those things were definitely a highlight of my youth.

- I don't know where Anth and I went wrong (maybe when Parks&Rec went off the air), but I pretty much disagree with him on everything every post.

- F shaving. It's turrible and I've never liked how I look clean-shaven.

- Plan to see Girl On The Train this weekend. Big Emily Blunt fan. Seems like a cool chick and she's dope.

- My power rankings went...

1. Sporting News
2. Dick Vitale
3. CatPaw Yearbook
4. Street & Smith

I turned my nose up at Lindy's and Athlon as I do today. Blue Ribbon was tough to find in Alexandria, KY.

- Just picked up from the library...

-Slice keep doing your thing. PTI is an insecure little *****. He can reach down and vigorously pump himself.

-Living in east TN is just the worst during football season. I'll hold TN fans up against cuad fans any day of the week for being pure vermin.

-Lass and I want to do Keeneland sometime this fall. First time for us both. Any tips from you regulars? Best day of the week to go?

Team Tiffani Amber for this guy, didn't she get beefers too?

Kristy Swanson was another 90's mega crush.

Blue Heron crushed the Peter Luger porterhouse last night. Not quite Tony's good, but very enjoyable.

Dropped off some stuff for KC just this morning. A legend in his field.

We came to ChAlex the last time, they owe us one. ChAnth is a little more text motivated. Mostly one liners from stupid rom-coms we like.

I don't know, but it pisses me off. It's like each season is self-contained, and immediately after the national championship I do a brain-dump and have to relearn everything 7 months later. If I asked GYERO to list Duke's starting 5 from last season, there would be no shortage of college basketballs who could do it immediately off the tops of their heads. Me? Nah. Grayson Allen. There. That's all I got. UofL's starting 5? Damion Lee. I think. That's all I got. I don't know if I'm just getting old or what, but it didn't used to be this way. Even now I can tell you UMass's starting 5 from 96, or Arkansas's starting 5 from 95. Weird. :flushed:

You have other **** to worry about. It happens to us all, eventually. I have a hard enough time keeping track of the names of the kids my boys play sports with.
