* Dunk. Kick legs out. Spin off rim. Block shots. Shoot sub-40% from the FT line. Worship. Favorite player ever. Thanks for pushing the BKH alarm.

* CMD's idea was cool. Who's bailing Tony Harris out of prison for it?

* Hope there's some jabroni in New Jersey who got "DUKE UNDEFEATED 40-0 NATIONAL CHAMPS" tattooed on his leg. Have fun bearing that cross with no point guard.

* As a lifelong Chicago baseball fan, I am happy to say that the White Sox won it last and this is the 99th year of the White Sox having won it last. That's little brother as all get out, yes. It is also true. And I can't wait for it to still be true a month for now.

* Have you ever been to hell? Have you ever designated driven a group of unruly drunk co-workers home from a wedding while they sing "Crash Into Me" by Dave Matthews Band at the top of their lungs? The answers to these questions are identical.

* Question for the college basketballs out there: Is this the worst potential SEC year you can remember? Because it is for me. Kentucky will be just fine. As a matter of fact, they better hurry up and beat us. But I've looked at what every other team in the league has coming back and they all seem either a year away (Auburn) or just outright awful (most of them).

* I consult the funniest group of people I know for some creative advice I need on two fronts.

1: Centre is going to try to put on a College Gameday show on Nov. 12 for our last home game. The opponent is Berry. They're in Georgia, they're nicknamed the Vikings, they're pretty good at football and I would love some sign ideas. The best ones I've got thus far are "OBLIGATORY HARAMBE REFERENCE" and "BERRY COLLEGE MORE LIKE BARELY COLLEGE LOL". This isn't really my thing.

2: My first basketball color commentary webcast is on Nov. 15 (at 7 PM, damn you, Division III scheduling and not putting Kentucky/Michigan State on 2nd in the Champions Classic!). I'm open to trying out catchphrases. Just to give you an idea of what I'm working with, in 6 years on the job working with the Centre basketball team, I've seen 6 losses and 8 dunks.

* Anybody else have to miss work because you can't get to your office after they shut down the elevator in your building to lay down new carpet due to somebody peeing on the old carpet? Just me? K.

* The Minnesota Vikings are better than I deserve them to be. Shew. There's the football take.

* Randomly awesome fast food item: The Arby's salted caramel chocolate chip cookie. You'd never see that coming.

* Slice: You're doing what I wanted to do at that age and never really did, so I waited until I turned 30 to enter the broadcast journalism field. You keep doing your thing, bud.

* At the end of the day, if you have great guards and a competent frontcourt, you can win it all. With that in mind, I like my team. Let's go win the national championship.

Rack'm.

Off the bench:

Jules Camera
Saul Smith

Gay, no. Coke, yes. Junior year he was f*cking one of UK's Girls of the SEC, and if you remember his slump that year, draw the lines there--literally. ******* she was smoke though. GPdre knows who I'm talking about. When he went to Orlando, she moved with him.

Bogans picked her up at our tailgate once. Invited them to stay, but he wouldn't get out of his truck, so she grabbed a couple beers and burgers and there they went. My mom, bless her heart, yelling "Don't you get that boy in trouble.." Had to be there to appreciate it..

From 2014:

It's all newer town homes that place lower socio economic people next to people who can pay outright...basically black n white folk living side by side...

Folks have to meet certain criteria like no felonies, only certain amount of people can live in the unit, etc.

But of course white folk paying upwards of hundreds of thousands while blacks/minorities win it in a lotto.

##Little bit of Mob news..former Pittsburgh Underboss, turned Government witness, Chucky Porter, as died. He flipped way back in 1990, and as I mentioned awhile back, the Feds say the Steel City has one made guy left, and Porter's testimony is the main reason for it. After his testimony put half the Family in Club Fed, New York basically shelved what was left, and they weren't allowed to Make any new members. Family never recovered.

I know, I know..A high ranking made man with the last name of Porter. WTF?

He was Italian on his mother's side, and that was enough for Pittsburgh Boss Mike Genovese--no relation to Vito-- to bend the rules and make him.

Another damn good longform post.

Thursday Randos:

- A tad hungover at work for the first time in 7-8 years. One of my girl's suppliers from work was in town from NYC and wanted to take us out, so we hit up Sotto for some pasta, octopus, etc., as well as bourbon and wine. Had a really good time. Sotto probably has the best atmosphere of any restaurant in Cincinnati. I just love the feel and ambiance. The food was good, but nothing extraordinary. The octopus was probably the best thing I had.

She's in the sampling industry and works with P&G. The dude who took us out is really impressive- he's Australian and moved to NYC four years ago to bring his business here. It's just amazing how much data is out there on all of us and how easily brands can target you specifically based on habits and traits.

- Duke's going to be so damn explosive on offense. I know they don't have a PG but they'll still move the ball pretty well. The big concern is on D. Jackson, Allen and Kennard cannot guard the ball, and if Giles isn't back, they lack a rim protector as well. May not matter, though, because they'll be able to score on anyone.

- The two things that stand out to me about UK the more and more I see of them and read about them:

1. We are so long, fast and athletic that our defensive potential is through the roof.

2. Bam is a lot better than he's given credit for. I guess he's sort of overshadowed by Giles, but this kid isn't just Jason Parker. He's got some skill, too, and he's a legit 6'10". I think he can be Julius Randle and more.

- Hate to say it, but I really think Louisville is going to be good this year. 2-seed good.

- [laughing] @SAECATFAN. My big thing was a newsletter I sent around in high school mocking UC and all their player arrests and embarrassments. Needless to say, I wasn't grabbing much ***** back then.

- I know it's not the style in rap anymore, but surprises me no one ever sampled Elvis's "In The Ghetto." Would be the perfect hoodrat hook.

- Once again, check out "Atlanta"- it's tremendous.

- Have always loved how college football teams don't have bye weeks. No, they're IDLE.

- Take it back to the mid-90s...WHO are you going with? Tiffani-Amber Thiessen OR Alyssa Milano?

I like "Atlanta," but I find myself having to rewind a lot because I often can't understand what anyone besides Earn is saying. Kinda (racially) concerning? Although, to be fair, I needed subtitles to get through the British "Office."

DirecTV guy fell through our ceiling last night and did some electrical damage as a special bonus, pretty awesome thing to happen on Day 1.

...guy showed up at 8:40 to "install" the service (which the previous owners already had, dish already in place and everything). Left at 3:30. 7 hours.

Admitted it was his first day on the job, and that he & his fiancé lived out of his Car. Told us he'd have a "buddy" come out and fix it in 2 weeks when he got his check, and to please not file a Damage Claim. Umm, False.

What a great company!! Imagine we'll be compensated sometime in '17 or '18 after reading about this process with them online.

I guess DirecTV techs learn not to fall through the touching ceiling sometime after their first day.

If you play your cards right, you might be able to get a few extra months of free HBO.

Please elaborate - did Duke just lose a PG or did they just not have an elite PG to begin with?

They don't have one, since Thornton transferred. They'll be running 2Gs like Allen and Jackson out there. Wouldn't surprise me if Kennard got some run, too.

What I like is that UK appears to be fielding the kind of squad that has traditionally given Duke major troubles in the past. We saw some of that last year in the game where they could not keep our guards in front of them and even our terrible front court did well.

Matt Jones is one of the best on the ball defenders in the country, and Jackson is a freak athlete. Pretty sure Duke will be fine if they can get over K's ****** team building.

-I hate Jayson Tatum as much as any Dukie in a long time already.

What kind of weird 12 year old boy writes memoirs to himself? At 12 I always had a bat or ball in my hand, or was finger banging chicks behind the Mrs pacman machine at the local skating rink. What a weirdo.

When we moved into our new house the Directv dude came out moving day in the late morning and didn't leave until like 9:30pm saying he didn't have what he needed to finish the job and would be back tomorrow morning. Yeah he didn't show up and they sent some other guy who seemed way more competent out who was like wtf was this guy doing?

Why is that going to be their problem? He's their best (college) player, and one of the best in CBB. His return was huge for them; don't care how ugly or dirty he is.

A bigger potential problem will be Tatum trying to get his 20 shots and disrupting the team chemistry Allen, Kennard, Jones, Jefferson already share. (And Giles' health)

I don't think he's saying Allen isn't a great player -- I think he's saying there are more talented incoming guys on the team that may breed resentment with him being primarily the feature guy.

As someone less than 24 hours away from "Home Alone: The Middle Aged Years", and who's only possible obligation might be yard work at a house he currently doesn't even live in, this guy is pulling for severe rain storms all weekend long.

The core of their team are proven veterans, I just see the resentment going the other way (towards Tatum) being more likely than Allen, the team leader, who's won a National Title and coming off an AA Season and a consensus preseason 1st Teamer.

Also probably underselling Coach K a bit. He knows whose team it is, and so will the rest of the guys.

I mean, have you watched Tatum? He's the biggest ball hog I've seen come through since Victor Page.
