What is BBN going to do when Sasha Kaleel Jones or whatever kneels during the national anthem? Because I'm pretty sure that's going to happen and it's going to be a disaster.

He probably won't be the only one. It will be interesting to see how Billy Joe Wildcat handles it (hint: not well).

If you disrespect our national anthem, you should be hog tied, hung upside down on the courthouse lawn, tarred and feathered, mocked, ridiculed, pelted with rotten broken eggs, have your scholarship revoked, kicked out of school, harassed by the police, fired from your job, have your tires slashed, get the code red treatment from your teammates, physically and verbally assaulted, your girlfriend should dump you, parents disown you, have your dog poisoned, drivers license taken away, lose your voting privileges, have a felony on your record, surrender your miranda rights, and be deported.

Merica. Eff yeah.

People protesting the anthem probably think someone is talking about a Waterpark in Nebraska when someone mentions Omaha Beach.

I'm surprised it's went this long without backlash considering how outspoken he is about it on his Twitter.

I like to stand during the national anthem. I don't care what others do, though. :100points:

Related: Folks can probably relax with the oversaturation of My Old Kentucky Home as well if we're being honest. I don't need a ceremonial playing at a wedding reception. I don't need fast versions, slow versions, hipster versions, etc.

I need it twice a year. Derby and Senior Night. Preferably by a full marching band. That's it.

Sweet Jebus...

Flying to Denver with a group this weekend for the great American beer festival and assorted guy trip shenanigans.

Then next weekend wife is flying to Texas to visit friends and I'm staying home. Currently being asked "would you care if my parents kept the kids that weekend I'm gone since it's their fall break and they haven't seen them in awhile?"

TWO WEEKENDS?!?! :grimace::grimace::grimace:

Kneeling during the national anthem reminds me of when basketball players started wearing sleeves a few years ago. One guy does it, then a bunch of other dudes follow suit.

Sheep.

Not a huge fan of the kneeling. I don't really think it's even an effective symbol. It denegrates everything the anthem stands for, rather than just drawing attention to their specific cause. Maybe instead of holding their hands over their hearts they could hold their hands up, in a don't shoot motion. Would be more effective IMO at pointing out their outrage at police issues.

In a general sense, I don't have much of a problem with peaceful protests, even if I don't necessarily agree with what they're doing. This is still America, is it not?

*Notable exception is groups that try and provoke people into a violent response, like westboro.

Like everything else, South Park has it figured out.

The national anthem should randomly rotate between 5 different, but catchy, 45 second tunes. Then no one would kneel but you'd have some people cheering if it was your favorite one or other people booing if it was one of the ones you didn't like. It would be a great way to get the crowd warmed up for the ballgame.

Well, looks like I have a new most hated Wildcat at the top of my list if he does this. SKJ just passed Skal and Saul.

Evidently we need public service announcements on how not to get shot by the police.

I mean, damn. Even if the cops are harassing you or whatever, comply with their instructions, record the encounter if at all possible, and live to have your lawyer sue them or send the video viral.

Getting agitated, fighting with them, or making sudden movements are not a good way to handle the situation.

Not everyone grew up on Turkeyfoot, bud. That's kind of the whole point of this.

That is my point as well.

People raised to fear and hate the Police will likely continue similar behaviors. Yeah there are some bad cops out there, but for the most part if people showed them some respect and did what the Cops told them to do, many of these shootings would not have happened.

Not respecting someone should result in their summary execution.
