The tax return thing isn't even about whether or not Trump paid taxes. It's about poking him over his alleged wealth and insinuating that he is not really as rich as he says. It puts him on tilt and gets him off message. Now he's out there explaining how brilliant he is and how great of a businessman he is. He spent most of the rest of the debate the other night talking about his business acumen and defending his companies while letting a golden opportunity to crush her on cyber security pass by. If he's on message, he makes up ground. If he gets off message on stupid **** like his tax return or some pageant queen from 20 years ago, he falls back. And he is very easily moved off message.
It really was impressive. She came at him early, put him on his heels, and completely dominated that first debate. He jumped at the bait... One of the biggest single issues that many people have with him is his temperament, which he did no favors ranting at Miss Piggy at 3am.
The thing about PTSD he said yesterday, I think was taken a bit out of context. When I heard it, it sounded like he was trying to relate...but yeah, I can see how some people took it the other way.
If he could just stay on message, get the hell off twitter, and try to act presidential... he should beat her. But now, he pretty much needs wikileaks to take her out.
