Both grandparent sets had poodles for some reason. One side, total drunks (well grandpa and 2nd wife)and named theirs after booze, brandy, sherry, cognac, etc. The other set had a the baddest poodle of all time, Brick. That's a strong name right there.

Both grandmas kicking and one is still holding strong at 93 and goes to the gym 4x a week. No excuses, bro.

It's a great space if you're doing some kind of party or big group get together. The 3 guys that own it are all in their mid-30s, early 40s and just like beer. The few times I've been, the crowds have been hit or miss.

They have a great upstairs patio for parties a such. Pretty awesome space.

For @anthonys735

They're calling it a terrible accident. Franklin County deputies say one man is dead after he shot himself while showing off his new gun. The shooting happened Sunday night on Pea Ridge Road in Franklin County. Deputies were called out to the home for a shooting.

"He was trying to show his girlfriend's father that he had bought a new gun, also he had been drinking and as a result he went to pull the slide back, had a magazine in it, a semi automatic weapon, so when he did it put a round in it. The gun wound up discharging," said Sheriff Pat Melton

-Yup, booze and guns have no business being mixed. Show off your new toy when you're sober.

-So Grandpa never really said a ton about his time in the military, mainly just that he got there at the end, sold cigarettes, monitored a train after the war, loved the women in French Rivera, and they wouldn't let him go visit relatives in Sicily b/c there were too many communist. Turns out the dude has couple of bronze stars and was pretty heavily involved with the end of the Battle of the Bulge and subsequent battles afterwards to take the remaining German strongholds. We have several letters detailing why he got the medals, his Purple Heart telegram, etc. Family is doing more research and submitting a request for his records. Also found a ton of really really old pictures from NYC and Sicily, wish they had some description or names on them. If you have a grandparent nearing that age get that type of info out of them before time is up. Everyone was pretty amazed at what we found and yet bummed we couldn't figure out who everyone was.

Regardless, hell of a man. Loved his family. One of the few remaining family members I was really close with and my last grandparent. Taps being played graveside is pretty amazing.

-Bristol Bar & Grill quit trying. Mercy, that was the worst meal I've eaten at a restaurant in a long time and the downtown location is a really nice space. We're talking Applebee's level effort. I guess that explains being able to accommodate 40 people on 24 hours notice for a Saturday night.

-Those planning a funeral, 8 hour visitations are toooooo long. I know you loved them but like most things, less is more.

-86. Average historical temps for August. Don't know what to tell you. I think we had like (4) 90 degree days all last summer and yet this year it's turned into the Amazon around here. Much like my later Winter hate, I get it. However, I'd still take it everyday over Jan/Feb. Hopefully the real nasty stuff is out of here after Tomorrow or Wednesday.

-ready for life to settle down and nothing on the plate until September.

My grandfather is currently rounding 3rd and heading for home. Last grandparent. 90 years old. Was still chasing P (even online) recently. Really his only redeemable quality. He's an ***, and my aunt had to trick him into signing over his (very small) life insurance policy because nobody was willing to pay for his funeral. Haven't seen him in about 20 years.

@anthonys735 that sounds like a bunch of stuff we found after paw paw died. We knew about the medals that he earned. A Purple Heart, 2 Silver Stars, Two Bronze Stars among many others. But, it was really cool to find the letters written from the U.S. Army informing my grandmother he had been wounded along with letters home.

It was also quite interesting to discover that up until his death he had a subscription to Playboy, a bunch of porn videos, some empty bottles of Viagra, and what we could only assume was a cock ring. Old man was pulling more wool than I was. Greatest Generation Ever!!!

That's really cool Anthony about your g-pa. I know mine would never talk about any of the actual fighting. Just wouldn't. Would only talk about the stuff they did when they weren't fighting. And fire ants. Man, he hated him some fire ants.

You see we got the power to turn back time,
So let’s try John Kasich and Martin O’Malley this time
And while we’re at it, let’s give McCain a re-do
So that Sarah Palin can stay hunting caribou.
Hey! That’s the power to turn back time!

LOL, Anth pulling a PTI(pti). You're getting closer, bub. Add a degree or two and lots of humidity and you're almost there!

Good news is it'll be back in the low 80's for a couple days this weekend, so you'll get a chance to act like the last two weeks never happened.

You'd think a college weatherball would understand that the Actual Temp # doesn't typically tell the story, especially in a place like Kentucky. Google Heat Index.

I'll revisit my Cwealth Example to help you understand it.

Announced attendance = 70K!!!! SELLOUT.
Actual attendance = 48K

Eli Barron Announced (recorded) Temperature = 87

ACTUAL Temperature (heat index) =

So, your little numbers you throw out are completely irrelevant.:100points:

No ****- how stupid do you have to be to tout temperature numbers? It's gross, disgusting and the only sports on to distract me are the 30th best team in the league.

Summer's over. Let's move onto fall.

At least we have a golf major every other week, which is really weird btw. Not sure how I feel about this compacted schedule, what's the reason for that this year?

Living 700 miles south of Lexington/Louisville, then coming back last week, I can absolutely, unequivocally state --> you and your humidity whining can get f'ing pumped. I ran with my mom on Saturday morning, and it was legitimately cool at 6/7am. Of course, that didn't stop everyone from bitching about the heat. [pfftt]

- Oh, New Orleans is hotter and grosser? Well, no ****, Prefontaine.

- The only thing good about late summer is seeing sweet fall beckoning on the horizon.

- Old Navy, surprisingly, makes decent (and cheap) workout gear for those of us who don't feel like spending $80 on a pair of shorts.

- @SAECATFAN how was the bachelor party?

- Interested in how these recruiting dominoes will fall. Young is a must. After that, we have multiple possibilities everywhere.

Not trying to change your opinion of summer, I'm just telling you it's wrong, and you're idiots. That's all.... oh and you two can get firmly but gently pumped... simultaneously.

Yeah, the past week has sucked with the humidity. At least it's not dark at 4:30p, 39 degrees and rain/snowing.
