Happy Birthday, Chad!

I post in here maybe 3 times a week and have had very rare, if any, interaction with you, but I genuinely hope that you have the happiest of days as you enter the thirty-whatever year of your life. Cheers!!

Birthdays are the best, folks! Death is only getting closer, so just go live lol.

I made a fly-by, continuation post satirizing facebook birthday wishes. Just kind of agreeing with the earlier conversation. What exactly are you trying to do here?

Go post in the papa johns thread or some other unfunny lame ****. Thanks.

In 2002, my girlfriend (whose parents lived on a lake next to LSU's campus in Baton Rouge, mind you) and I ran from the upper deck of Commonwealth to rush the field after Kentucky beat LSU... only to find people numbly walking like zombies out of the bowl telling us that we had lost on a miracle last second play.

Screw your internet angst, junior.
I was in attendance. I wanted to go ahead and storm the field with my brother and dad, but pops thought it would probably be smart for the last play to finish. I cried in the bleachers after the hail mary. UK Football!

That was one of my first real UK football memories, besides us losing to Ohio at home.

My UK football fandom reached a peak in November of 2012 after sitting through the Vanderbilt debacle with maybe 3k people left as time expired.

Went to the UK-IU game in Bloomington in December '01 that was the makeup after being moved for 9/11...we lost, of course.

I don't think that's top-able.

I don't even count you, you're just protecting yourself emotionally. I know deep down in a place SAE won't let himself go publicly...he's looking at that offensive firepower and secondary and talking himself into 7, possibly 8 wins.

If that were true, it would rely entirely upon Barker. If that were true.

Tell you what though, folks. Be difficult for me to not ride down I-64 east with K flags up on a fall Saturday morning resembling today.

~Point to the place on Commonwealth Stadium where UK football hurt you.

~Someone told me last week that Jim Gray put $6 million of his own money into the 21C project in Lexington to keep it from going under. Guess he didn't want another hole.

~Weather the next few days is going to be pretty much perfect. Deck staining weather. :(

~More losses in 2016-17 - UK Football or UK Basketball? I'll go with the football Cats with 8 losses.

I'll be at the games, excited for tailgates, I've renewed my tickets...I'm just not expecting anything. Like nothing.

Off to the Country Club. Gorgeous day.

This is fun recalling all the great UK nutt kicks over the years.

My first UK football game was November 9, 2002. I was a freshman in high school and got offered a ticket to go with my best bud to watch the Kentucky Wildcats take on the LSU tigers. I was sitting there with an end zone seat as Taylor Begley kicked the pig skin 29 yards right through the uprights! I remember one of our players even called our last time out with 15 seconds left just to make sure he had plenty of time to get the ball through the yellow sticks. Luckily it was a short high and 11 seconds later I was brought back to the reality of what UK football is. At least I learned early.

I find it a tad morbid that so many sportswriters rush to write these glowing, loquacious tributes to sports figures they otherwise wouldn't have covered on a day to day basis. Don't get me wrong, Summitt was worthy of every bit of praise written/said about her yesterday. It's just odd that some of these guys have never covered women's basketball in their career. Same thing with Ali.

Little scrum after the game made up for it...some.

<--First game: October 23rd, 1982, versus Georgia. We lost--of course--but me and pops sat in my Uncle's seats which were first row, twenty yard line behind the visitors bench. I do remember either George Adams or Choo-Choo Lee busting loose for a long touchdown run, but for the most part, sat awe-struck watching Herschel Walker run all over us.

Need to throw this one in the dvd player soon..it's the UGA's broadcast team, but still..[smoke]

Why? For sports figures as big as Ali and Summit, ALL sports fans know about them and what they meant to the world of sports. I don't think any of us watched more than 10 Lady Vols games in our life, but we all know what a wonderful coach, person and pioneer she was.

Is it too soon to feign rage at the implication that I've watched "less than 10 Lady Vols games?"

Less than ten layups via unwanted highlights on Sportcenter more likely.

Jeezle-Pete's.

- First UK football game- 1986 (I think) against the Akron Zips. Dad and I both got the same UK t-shirt, with me inheriting his when I was old enough to wear it. Was my all-time favorite UK shirt- one of those soft 80s tees that have made a comeback. Lost track of it sometime between high school and heading off to UK and have been looking for it ever since. Bet mom took it to Goodwill.

- Not that I'm surprised because I thought it was a stupid idea from the get-go, but I am not enjoying having a damn golden retriever puppy in my condo. I hate women sometimes.

- Nice of June to give us a couple good days after an entire month of ****.

- I'm sure you summerheads are loving the salt life right now, but I cannot wait for September.
