Aren't you all mostly worried about it being really hot and really cold? What other variables do you need to look at?

Since doing my job, I'm on the NWS multiple times a day monitoring potential storms.

The weather groupies on Twitter crack me up

I mean if I had options I'd take advantage but in a pinch there's nothing wrong with a foot of mediocre sandwich.

I got in an argument with a sandwich artist one time at Subway because he wouldn't toast my Tuna sub. He said it was because of the radiation...I couldn't help but laugh.

Yes, radiation is not a valid reason for denying a toasting of the tuna. It was so stupid I had to laugh.

I can eat a foot of sub from Sunway and not feel as awful as I do if I eat a drive thru meal. That probably says more about the drive thru though tbh.

Plus if I eat out near work I generally like to be able to see my food being made as a matter of personal safety.

Subway is the opposite of McDonald's. Everyone hates that **** but they feel like they need to tell everyone that they are "just gonna get some subway" so people will think they take fitness serious.
I figure a footling steak and meatball sub from Subway, wash it down with some Mich Ultra and I'm ready for some Crossfit Tough 5Ker or whatever you kids are up to.

To be honest, the jimmy john app and delivery are a game changer for me. Why the hell would I get off my fat *** and go to subway.

I tell you what is BS is that the Jimmy John's over on Maple Leaf will not deliver across the interstate. It's "too far". Dude, I live 1.5 miles from Meijer, it's not too far. They are leaving about 1000 houses out of their delivery area by doing this.

So a GYEROer is contemplating going to f***ing Antartica to run a marathon... willingly and paying for it?!?!

To each their own, but man. I do not get that. (Unless that was a joke, and then I did not get that either.)

At some point, someone here is going to talk about saving up to go to North Korea to do a Tough Mudder, but for real.

I'm totally down for spending a few weeks in Paris, eating fancy ham and cheese sandwiches (maybe even some snails drowned alive in garlic butter), swilling wine, and speaking pidgen French to ladies with questionable armpit grooming habits and possibly even more questionable sexual appetites. That seems like a pretty solid vacation. An adventure, really.

But renting a jalopy and tooling around Anchorage or flying to the coldest f***ing place in the world to run in f***ing circles for 4 hours? Might be time to re-evaluate, in my humble opinion. Maybe I just don't get it.

It makes for a pretty good, "Oh yeah, well I..." story when somebody brings up an arduous marathon at a party, imo. Somewhat worth it.

Somewhat worth it.

Is it?

"I did something miserable in a weird location!" is not quite the same as "I was first in my class at BUD/S."

And, I mean, if you are doing anything other than staring off into space if someone starts telling you a story about a marathon at a party, that's on you.

Eh, I think it's a pretty cool story. I'd love to see Antartica. I'm always fascinated by it on tv. lb123 loves running and it puts him in pretty elite company to do that one, so if he wants to spend his hard earned GYERO LLC money on marathons on ice, good for him.

What cities are GYEROmen living in where a Jimmy John's isn't at least as prevalent as Subway? Get real and grow up ffs

New Orleans for me, where Jimmy Johns is a joke. I'm embarrassed to tell anyone around town I actually eat there. Have made the mistake of delivering this to clients for a group meeting. Does NOT go over well.

But to answer more clearly, per my expense account, I've recently dropped into Subway in:

Ville Platte
Lobdell
Opelousas
Krotz Springs
Livonia
Breaux Bridge
Laplace
Gonzales
New Iberia
Grosse Tete
Kenner
Gramercy

Should have checked Yelp, but didn't have time to make it over to Jimmy Johns. My bad.

I mean, do whatever makes you happy. Different strokes and all...Antarctica, really not interested in. Cant say I'm terribly impressed, with Pti running ultras and such. Maybe go run a marathon in Iraq or Afghanistan, that would be ballsy.

Jersey mike's is good, not really terribly better than JJ though...so long as they have cherry peppers it's all good.

Americans with a solid episode.

Jimmy Johns and its mayo&lettuce sandwiches are ridiculously overrated. At least, use Jersey Mikes as your primo-example, you big galoot.
Stop being mean. You can actually order your sandwich with as much or little mayo/lettuce as you want now.

Also, there are maybe 5 Jersey Mike's in Kentucky outside of the greater Cincinnati area. THE WORLD DOESNT REVOLVE AROUND YOU!

Subway has sucked for ages. People bought into the miracle when dude lost all that weight eating it 2 times a day for a year. ( now excluding terrible jokes about where the 2 times a day are coming from )

The real question is, was Penn Station ever a thing? Seems like it was. Never was a big fan so I ate it as often as Blimpie and Quiznos, which have disappeared from Somerset.
