I'm just dumbfounded at how unproductive these things always are. It's ridiculous.

Directions:

- Press mute button,

- Buy table football set for $5.*

- Profit.

*Presumes you have a colleague

^ False...there's significant added value in the following sequence:

  1. Pre-telephone conference call to discuss the agenda for the upcoming telephone conference call;
  2. Distribution of agenda <2min prior to telephone conference call for all attendees;
  3. Dial-in to telephone conference call to be greeted by ****** loop elevator music;
  4. Host of conference call dials-in about 3-5min late, makes joke about making a run to get coffee because it's been a "long day" (nobody is impressed);
  5. Extend an already too-long telephone conference call by 15-30min to discuss "action items;"
  6. Arrange a post telephone conference to debrief the telephone conference;
  7. Distribute notes from telephone conference for review;
  8. Arrange another post telephone conference call to discuss briefing to senior management; and
  9. Schedule telephone conference with senior management;
  10. Repeat steps 1-9 again.

The best part of a conference call is the amount of emails and little things I get done while on it. The worst part is the ******* that brings something very specific to them like a situation with a customer that applies to no one else and wastes 20 mins before the other person suggests they should handle it afterwards.

What do you call a meeting that takes an hour, everyone expresses how they would like to change a policy, and then in the end, nothing changes and you just keep doing things the way you were?

UCL, you are making me really dread the upcoming sales meeting tomorrow morning. The agenda came out today and has 9 things on it, ending with open discussion. I want to suggest to management to take "open discussion" off the weekly agenda because you can only imagine what happens when 10 hens are given the floor to complain at will.

At least yours is a conference call and not in person.

What kind of self important, uptight, pretentious ******* gets his 'wich toasted at Subway??

For crying out loud, the line is barely moving as is. Just load up the toppings, put your head down and move along.

My life is conference calls. In addition to all the stuff listed above, my other complaints/annoyances:

*Ice breakers
*When the organizer spends 5 to 10 minutes telling us it will be a short meeting, and will try to get us off the call early
*Inside jokes between two or three people on a call with 10 or more people
*The term "call outs". When someone makes a comment or suggestion, someone in management always compliments them on the great "call out"
*The term "takeaways". Which for those of you not in conference call hell, are follow-up questions to resolve after the call
*The person in Central Time that will schedule a call for 10:30 to 12:00 Central Time. Touch you, effer

I am in a medical sales field and we will have a district every 2 month sales meeting tomorrow that will last some 3.5 hours. 60-90 minutes of this meeting will be devoted to role-playing some different sales scenarios. So I've got that to look forward to. The best was the kick-off meeting for this year when our regional president announced "You're fired" to everyone in the room and followed up with "Now you're going to be given a second chance, tell me why I shouldn't fire you and think about what behavior and/or issue you have that you need to stop or change so you don't get fired in the future". Very inspirational stuff. Made me very excited to start 2016.

I would have resumes out within 45 minutes of the conclusion of that meeting.

At. Best.

-Who eats Subway this day and age? Awful.

-Sounds like SGI is perfect for PTI. Maybe they should wax. I've seen him take down worse.

I'll go with "general overall tone" for the worst.
