Like I say, we should have all just tried to be college basketball and football coaches. Be filthy rich.

I mean, Pastner is a f'n certified moron/*******. Made no more sacrifices getting started than the next guy in their respective industry. Millionaire.

Who has the better quality of life, football or basketball coach?

I'd have to go basketball.

Seems like basketball coaches tend to stay at assistant coaching jobs longer than their football counterparts. Football coaches move yearly, especially early on.

But it still comes to getting the right gig, and working for the right coach. Jay Wright hooked up with Rollie Massimino, and worked is way up the ranks to eventually land the head gig at Villanova. Calipari coached early on with Larry Brown. Pitino coached early on with Boeheim. Donovan with Pitino. The early to mid 90s coaching staff at Green Bay was ridiculous...assistant coaches were Steve Mariucci, Jon Gruden, Andy Reid, Dick Jauron, Sherm Lewis, Ray Rhodes, etc.

Was supposed to go and meet up with an old college buddy who is the jockey agent for Mike Smith. But I forgot what happens to the weather when I'm on Spring Break. Not about to face it. This was the only thing I was really looking forward to all week. I'm now going to a 4 year old's birthday party instead (no offense, cat chaser). Everyone feel sorry for me!

- Apparently, Jonathan Issacs is tearing it up. Yet another kid who will waste his college year at Florida State. I don't get it.

- The choices these college athletics "hiring firms" make are hilarious. Damn near every one of them.

^ he apparently tried to enter the Draft? Not sure what reasons he had that he thought he could be eligible.

FSU is always a curious choice, but XRM, Bacon, Issacs is a helluva lead/wing/big trio. Of course, they will still have the exact same finish/season they always have. #Leonard

Fox was praised all weekend at McDs then came out tight and was obviously pressing. Hopefully he'll calm down this week.

Gabriel getting lots of love. Shew that Bam/WG combo is going to be fun. Shouldn't have any rebounding issues.

I think I am going to start a search firm. ****, Georgia Tech could have just drawn names out of a hat and come away better than Pastner.
I'm in. I'm pretty sure all of the disgruntled GYERO Laws would do AT least as good a job and be willing to undercut the competition.

"Oh, hey big time AD. For only $250,000 we'll tell you to hire Al Skinner. Congrats, you just saved $200,000 in coach search money! Put us on retainer for your next search after you fire Skinner and get a free frogurt!"

With La. Tech being in Ruston, LA- i'd imagine this 22 yr old girl getting knocked up drew more of a "She's too old to have kids" reaction, rather than "Oh man a basketball coach nailing his player thats kinda weird"

Serious question- how annoying is all the "religiousness" of living down there in Alabama? Would wear me the F out.

You could see Fox's talent- just looked like it needed to be harnessed. Dude is loooong, super-fast and bouncy as hell for a PG.

Yeah, people keep saying Bolden would come right in and start but I don't think so. Whether we go 3 guards OR bigger (Willis), Gabriel and Bam will be our starting 4/5, as they should be.

This team should be a killer on the offensive glass, protect the rim and be pretty versatile on D.

Glad you guys are finally excited about Gabriel.

Makes me sad that Matthews doesn't even really exist, still think he'll be a pretty big-time guy at some point, at least in his role.

Izak/Wynyard keep getting mentioned as "do or die" as far as putting in work this summer unless they want to get completely lost in the shuffle -- to me, the guy most at risk of that is Matthews. Guys like him blossom ALL THE TIME across the country as Soph/Juniors. He's got a rep as a worker, guess we'll see.

Should be ample opportunity, Monk is really the only 'wing' we have, and even that is stretching it a little. Willis/Gabriel I suppose, but still not sold on either of them getting bulk minutes as a 3.

It's really not much different than living in Louisville, where a lot of what we were involved in was church/school related. There are self righteous religions types everywhere you go. Charlotte seemed a lot more "focused" on where you went to church every sunday.

Matthews and Briscoe need to lock themselves into Craft and shoot jumpers all summer. I don't hate Matthews' form. Dude just didn't have any confidence.

Forgot about Briscoe lol.

He coming back or what? Obviously everyone would prefer he return (I think), but I actually think it would be a REALLY big blow if he doesn't.

Jesus Christ LexCath. Was waiting to meet with a potential client at Starbucks and googled it after max said something this am. Holy ish....

How did they not expel that kid? I've spent some time training/coaching some kids who went to lexcath. Always yes sir, no sir, just a group of well mannered respectful kids. It's a shame that a select few who choose to make stupid choices ruin it for everyone else. I'm disgusted with the administration...how do you only make the kid apologize? They kick him out and none of this gets leaked IMO. I've not met many higher ups there but the AD always seemed like a stand up guy. Just a horrible situation....multiple lives will be forever changed and I hope the kid who got bullied in that way gets a big settlement.

Yup, even if his jumper stays broken, he's a huge piece to return. A 2nd year do-everything (except shoot lol) bulldog guard would be a really nice piece to have with this incoming group.

t it seems like football assistants get paid more. but they do rotate to different jobs every couple of years, and spend most of the time recruiting rather than actual coaching.

sounds like football recruiting is so sleezy & cutthroat & goes on 24/7/365 whereas bball recruiting is just certain times on the calendar with much less flipping/thievery. Can't imagine what the media would think of Calipari if he approached bball recruiting the way Urban & Saban operate, a kid committing somewhere other than your school means you jump on them twice as hard.

Heard some scuttlebutt that there is a rumor floating around out there that M Lee was in the River City speaking to NCAA and LMPD about "favors" he rec'd while on his recruiting visit to Louisville First.

Lol learn lexington...

It's fn Catholic. What you think would happen? Pick up today's Herald Leader for a good laugh. This is the same town/university that raised a stink about historical art/statues depicting slave-owners, fyi. We'll see if they're out picketing at Catholic today...

Nothing "leaked" no one knew about it, including the school, until the kids mother read the messages and decided the press charges. Maybe I'm in the minority but I don't really think it's the schools job to babysit kids when they're out of school, why should they be held responsible for something said in a text message or over social media?

They should come out against it and educate the students further to help prevent stuff like that, but that's about all they can do.

I also assume this will hit the Good Morning America news circuit, then it might be out of their hands. Idk, lex is pretty insulated and they've handled it well so far. Just hilarious to compare the outrage over the art and then this real life 2016 blatant racism slaps you in the face and people are afraid to speak because it's very real, it's very white, and very small town lexington.

IMO the mom is making this a big media storm to get out from under the $4K debt in unpaid tuition they owe LexCath to get his transcripts. and will probably be successful sooner rather than later.
