But it's also fair to say that it's the one part about the Cal era that sucks from the standpoint of being a UK fan. Borderline guys from other schools tend to return, whereas our borderline guys tend to go. That's how Cal markets the program, and it's a big part of how he recruits so well, but it also makes his job harder. Grayson Allen is a sophomore who was projected to go late first round, and he returns. Tyler Ulis is a sophomore who was projected to go late first round, and he leaves.
Again, it's better for the kids (at least the ones who don't make bad decisions, Marquis Teague), but it's worse for us. #Selfish
Definitely sucks, but we've enjoyed the fruits of this philosophy. Been a helluva 7-year run. Would be disingenuous of Cal to tout it and then pull a Roy Williams on the kids when it came down to decision time.
