Are these coming back?

Hope so. I'd buy 3-4 pair tomorrow.

Hawkins coming back is being totally overlooked as far as our back court goes. He's a guy you can bring off the bench and actually raise the defensive intensity. As good as the two freshmen are, I like the idea of having two bulldog defenders available in our back court. Plus the kid was shooting pretty decent when he was healthy.

I'd nudge Lee out if that's what it took to get Bolden. Let him finish his degree and go the graduate transfer route. It's not the greatest situation ever, but if he walks away with his degree then UK has fulfilled their obligation to him.

If Wynyard is as bad as Jones seems to think, and I'm sure that's coming straight from the staff, then send him out to Mark Pope in Utah or Allen Edwards at Wyoming. He'd be able to play next season I assume since he sat this year. Or maybe at least after Christmas.

Better NBA Career: Anthony Davis or Karl Anthony Towns. Who ya got? I honestly can't believe this is a legit question, but Towns has put up rookie numbers that compare favorably with Shaq & Duncan while Davis has been injury prone. That may end up being the difference. Towns may be more durable and thus have a better career. Davis can't keep turning in 65-70 game seasons if he's going to be THE MAN in the entire league.

Always Read The Plaque:

2016 NCAA CHAMPIONS VILLANOVA WILDCATS, NORTH CAROLINA WAS THE BEST TEAM, BUT THEY DID NOT PLAY WELL, VILLANOVA PLAYED THEIR A GAME & WAS THE BETTER TEAM FOR ONE NIGHT.

This shirt was GOAT but its't not really a shirt you wear 4 years later (plus it's too small for me at this point.)

The defunct A1A Sandbar on Main Street has been sold for $1.2 million to a developer who plans to tear it down and build in its place a five-story mixed-use building.

Developer Jeff Morgan wants to have a business on the ground floor, condominiums on the upper four floors and a two-story, 52-space parking garage.

RIP AIA

Villanova proved it was the best team THIS SEASON (when it mattered) as much as any team has over the past decade, imo.

Just a ridiculous take. Too bad they don't play games on paper, UNC may have won. Instead, the team that steamrolled through the tourney, and beat the 3 best teams of the season in succession, won the title in a game for the ages. Seems pretty straightforward.

...now they are asking on IC if the shot can be reviewed/erased b/c of the clock operator. [laughing]

How many paternity cases originated from the A1A?

Always assumed that it had been rightfully torched to the ground years ago to rid the area of disease.

They beat pretty much every contender in the whole damned tournament. Toughest path since 1997 Arizona IMO. What else do you want? Line up some post tournament exhibition with Michigan State?

Conversely, the best team Carolina beat in the entire tournament was Indiana.

I mean, people act like this Carolina team breezed through the season and were far-and-away the best team. It cracks me up. THEY LOST 7 GAMES! They didn't beat a team seeded better than #5 in the tourney!

Why do any of you even care what a bunch of misguided UNC fans think? If they can't even remotely recognize 20+ years of academic fraud staring them right in the face, how else would you expect them to deal with Monday night? Of course they are going to *****, whine, deflect and look for any scapegoat other than that they got beat by a team playing excellent basketball at the exact right time of the year. IT'S WHAT CAROLINA FANS DO. It's what makes them the most annoying fanbase in college sports.

Now move along and talk about something important like The Masters, BBdK's restaurant of the week or Chad's flip flops. And I'll go back to lurking.

Frankly, I'm having a helluva time mocking them.

Sturgill Simpson on the Joe Rogan podcast yesterday. A GYERO favorite combined with the best podcast going. Probably should check it out.

I mean to be fair we all thought about it after the Wisconsin game...

Just kept it classy and internalized!

Well we were pissed because for the second game in a row, the refs missed blatant shot clock violations that gave critical points to the other team. And could not review it for some ******** reason.

Think we were mainly pissed about the massive choking and clogged toilet offense we ran in the final 5 minutes.

Dingle's SnapChat riding up Magnolia Lane to the Clubhouse looked an awful like Fuzzy behind the wheel, which I'm sure it was.

Smh, that guy.

Grayson Allen announces he's returning to Duke, as expected by basically everyone with a pulse, sports media loses their collective minds about what this means for Duke. Every one of those projected preseason rankings was based upon Allen returning.

Guess that means Kennard won't be able to fully spread his wings, either. Dope *** sophomore 6th man isn't what he hand in mind, I bet. Can Harmon confirm?

Tatum isn't going to want to be the 4 so there will be an odd man out somewhere.

Not surprising Allen was undoubtedly guilted into coming back with ideas of grandeur in his brain, even though K should really have pushed him out the door with it being such a ****** draft. He's a decent prospect, despite UK's guards exposing the **** out of him as a primary ball handler last winter. Oh well, maybe paying his dues he'll be the next Jon Scheyer as turbo video coordinator in 7-10 years.

'His & Hers' should be called 'Black and Blacker'

Let's be honest, Duke is flat out loaded next season, #1 by a good margin heading into the season. Experienced as hell as well (by today's standards).

Jackson
Allen (Jr)
Jones (Sr)
Kennard
Thornton

___

Giles
Jefferson (Sr)
Tatum
Jeter
(Bolden?)

Good lord. Will be several contenders, including us, but not sure how anyone could argue that Duke isn't the team to beat heading into the season, don't be stupid.

They're stacked fo'sho. I suppose you could point to PG being an issue as Jackson is more of a combo (if Thornton leaves) or having a lot of guys who need their shots, but that's a good problem to have for one of the greatest coaches of all-time.

I didn't realize Jackson was the type of player he was until the McDAA week. He's a dynamic player/scorer, not really in the mold of most Duke point guards over the years.

Nice of Matt Jones & Amile Jefferson to come back for their 7th years, btw. Didn't Tubby recruit them?

-I'm perfectly fine with not being some CLEAR #1 team, or even preseason #1 (as little as it really means) -- that **** certainly has it's drawbacks, let someone else deal with that for awhile imo. We're top 5 on anyone's list.

Agree that Duke is the team to beat next year...but no one seems to be talking about their best recruit coming off his second major knee surgery.

I'd be terrified.

Getting it done with stacked teams, particularly ones molding elite recruits with returning vets isn't always easy. Look at 1994 North Carolina, for instance.

I'm with BBdK- will be nice NOT having all the pressure. That hurt our '14 squad.

Worked out fine for us in '12. Us and UNC were 1A and 1B, with most of the national media giving the edge to UNC, IIRC.

My point was that this really doesn't change anything because no one actually expected Allen to make the jump. Every projection regarding Duke had already factored in his return but the media is reacting like this suddenly makes them better than what they had anticipated, which simply is not true. The real story would have been if he had shockingly decided to turn pro. In that scenario we leapfrog them for the number one ranking.

It was Davis = Henson

Get it straight.

We playing the Champions classic again? Michigan St is up in the rotation. That will be a stacked November game.

Eff that ***** Allen.

It just sucks he announces on the day Ulis is bouncing. I don't care who they have Ulis stayed and we are clear #1.
