SKJ might be playing in the Derby Festival game assuming he hasn't missed too much school yet

Brad Calipari will also be playing in the Derby Festival game - I think rosters will be released Monday

If he actually manages to make real progress with the teachers' retirement and employee pension programs then the rest of this is background noise. It's a calculated risk, but he can run on that and win re-election. Just because the handful of hacks at the CJ & LHL enjoy having a little snark circle jerk at his expense doesn't mean the general public feels the same way. Look at last year. He won easily, but you would have thought he had absolutely no chance if you were following the race in the media.

Possibly but he's also cutting a lot of assistance programs and a lot of the folks that voted for him don't realize those are the same programs they are on. He clearly ran on a promise of slashing a lot of the assistance programs and cutting waste from govt besides parading out Kim Davis. He won the popular vote in the poorest counties and the surveys after the election showed that many of those folks did understand that his intent is to cut the very programs they are on. I was amazed at how many were thrilled he was "going to get rid of ObamaCare" and then talked about how much they loved Kynect. He starts touching their checks and they may turn on him.

Ok, I'm done with politics in GYERO.

Sitting here watching Cal on Dan Patrick's show...lol. Entertaining, but these two egos having a conversation is almost too much.

Does bring me back to listening to Cal at Memphis when on Rome/Patrick/etc, and just DREAMING about what that guy would do here...never thought it would be possible. LOL. Such a dream marriage.

- F4 thoughts? I just have a hard time seeing anyone but Carolina bringing it home. I'm praying that zone throws them into a complete funk. I think Oklahoma or, more likely, Villanova could beat them, but not confident.

Optimist:

Syracuse has some big guards that could give Carolina trouble.
Hield could go off and beat anyone by himself.
Villanova may just be the better, more complete team.

- So, Vandy's getting Bryce Drew- right?

- @PTI (pti) thoughts on the new Real World?

Talked about Poop, Ice Cream, changing lives/creating generational wealth, and the NBA Draft. :eyes:

Did bust out a new (to me) stat though, said 51% of his players here have gotten drafted or played in the NBA. [laughing] That's pretty silly, and one of the better things he could run with as far as repeatable Cal-isms. That's just incredible.

-I put a pretty heavy bet on UNC (-105) to win the title last weekend after the ND game. One of those win/win type bets, although not really. Will certainly be rooting for them to lose as hard as ever -- if they don't, well I get a nice $$$ bonus for my misery. Favorite type of bet to make.

-Villanova has the best shot to beat them, imo. They have about 8 guards/wings who can do damage, they never stop rotating in capable players. Would be so happy for Jay. :flushed: Of course, if Buddy & friends go off they could win as well, but they also look pretty awful when that doesn't happen...

-The King Rice chatter cooling with Vandy? Seemed to be really picking up steam earlier in the week.

where do they even hold the Derby Festival anymore? Freedom Hall? Is that the only basketball game that place even holds in the last few years?

Why would he send his son to that thing when a few years ago one of the organizers took some shots at him blaming Cal for steering UK recruits away from the game.

Cool chance for his son to play in an All Star game, and him basically saying "whoever I want to play in this game will...only when it benefits me/UK though, so deal with it & enjoy this year b/c it may never happen again"

Typical Cal.

Man, I used to WORSHIP the Derby Classic though, probably attended every year from age 5-15. Stay at the Executive West, and just run around the halls/lobby getting autographs from players & coaches, even busting into players rooms with Killa a few years, which seems creepy in hindsight but whatever.

It was a pretty big deal once upon a time, 2nd only to the McD's game iirc. I guess the Capitol Classic was up there, but if you go back and look at the rosters in the early 90s, some pretty awesome players.

Sure he did, you think the Gonzaga barnstorming tour is going to be lucrative? I can remember when Chris Harrison and Andre Riddick drew 3500 into our little high school gym back in the day at 5 bucks a pop. Brassow showed up drunk off his *** and a good time was had by all as Andre proceeded to attempt to put his nuts on everyone's forehead throughout the game. I don't begrudge the kid at all, there are plenty of BJWs that will stand in line for an hour, throw him a 20, and mistakenly say that he could have really helped this years team. He'd be smart to bring Polson along as well.

No different than all you liberal idiots that sing about how great obamacare is, and then scream when the Gov wants to end kynect for financial reasons and GO BACK to obamacare.

Just how good will Booker end up being? A Klay Thompson-level Top 15-20 player in the league? Is he that good?

Not EVERY time.

Okay, pretty much every time, especially if I'm over 3 different bullets...just seems cleaner that way.

You have the wrong person, bub. I'm about as down the middle as anyone can be and I am very fiscally conservative, so I wasn't one that argued for it. I've lived where they have universal healthcare and it was not a good experience. Try again.

As far as Bevins, Kynect and Obamacare, I do think it's a waste of money this state does not have to dissolve Kynect, i.e. not financially prudent. That has nothing to do with how I feel about either program.

I mean, you joke and all, but that would be a cool press conference.

Was following up on Chad's post talking about who he thought had the best chance of the F4 teams, and why.

Great post, Brooks!

Got any more questions about how to cook Chicken? Need some Hot Dog tips?

Just hope you guys keep nailing it, per usual. I recall before the tourney even started you all speculated that anyone could win it, sure enough here we are Final Four weekend and it appears one of the 64 team field is going to do just that.

En fuego, you two. If UNC, Nova, or Oklahoma win it Monday night, I'll somehow be amazed again.

Well, I am #1 out of 95 in the bracket contest, so there's that. Your resident :basketball:, at your service. Hit me up earlier next year, and you'll be way better for it.

Of course, I won't win b/c of the weight placed on picking the winner, which I couldn't in good conscience have picked UNC -- much tougher to do well pre FF though, which is where I excel -- as my GAMBOL proves. #cueitup

Kentucky's Medicaid program is facing a $125 million deficit this year and a $611 million deficit over the next two years as it struggles to keep up with a flood of new enrollees and the end of 100 percent federal funding for its expanded eligibility requirements.

Kentucky Health and Family Services Cabinet Secretary Vickie Yates Brown Glisson told House budget writers on Wednesday she worries about the sustainability of the program that provides health insurance for more than a quarter of Kentucky's population.

Annual Sales Conference was Tuesday -- Guest Speaker was 4 time Super Bowl Champion Rocky Bleier.

Of course, pretty much EVERY sales speech/presentation has the same general message, but his overall story is pretty remarkable. Didn't know all that much about him prior.

Got drafted into the Army after his rookie season, only to take a few rifle shots to the leg...followed by a grenade while looking for cover. Comes back to the NFL after a miraculous recovery, gets waived twice, then finally makes the team and is thrown into the lineup beside Franco Harris as a result of several injuries to 3-4 guys ahead of him...wins 4 Super Bowls and retires as the Steeler's 4th All time leading rusher. Cool dude. He pretty much destroyed Bradshaw the entire time.

Sounds like someone you old guys would have worshipped.
