Little late but still somewhat pertinent and hadn't seen it on here yet. Really wish just one reporter had called him on this.

At least the NCAA will get crushed all week with UNC v. Syracuse at the Final Four. Prediction: That Rhoden piece from the NYT is really going to backfire. He's unintentionally going to draw even more attention to all the various ACC related college basketball scandals.

In Cal's tenure here, 2 of our biggest rivals have won a total of 3 times, with the other two going to a team I hate almost as badly - and we handed it to them both times.

So yeah, UNC, Duke, KU all in the FF. Pretty much a lock. Syracuse will probably come out of the Midwest.

Obvi I was wrong about Duke and KU, but Jeebus, how does a freaking joke about DA CUSE come true.

GREAT JOB! GREAT EFFORT NCAA! A team cheats for 12 touching years, and not only do you not take their title away, you let them in the tourney with an unworthy record b/c they were without their coach for 9 games - BECAUSE HE WAS SUSPENDED FOR THE 12 YEARS OF CHEATING. Then those touchsticks somehow make the final four.

To play another team that should have been banned this year, but are employing every stall tactic possible to remain eligible in the last season they will be worth a ****.

So great work, NCAA, you have two schools with over a decade of cheating each meeting in your national semi-final. But, please, hold a grudge and try to screw UK and Calipari at ever turn. I'm honestly pretty close to dropping NCAA basketball as a sport. Its so corrupt, and such ********.

Never understood why UVA was a 1 seed. The committee KILLED UK for having bad losses, but UVA lost to George freaking Washington, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, and FSU. 4 losses to non tourney teams, and 7 losses overall. UK only had 5 losses to non-tourney teams.

That said no excuse for going full retard against the press in the final 8 minutes. Good lord. If Bennett can't make the FF with that bracket, he never will.

So UNC gets the easiest path to the finals in history. Great, grand. Oh, and were playing in a canyon proven to F up 3 point shooting teams? EVEN BETTER.

God, I hate the NCAA.

I'd almost guaran-damn-tee the NCAA does its best to shield both the Cuse & Carolina from most questions pertaining to the allegations. And it will be shameful. The fact that a team will be playing for the National Championship and both of them are blatant cheaters pretty much signals the end as far as I'm concerned regarding the NCAA and it's enforcement office.

It's obvious now that the NCAA doesn't have an "enforcement office".

What they do have is a Gestapo, which guards their friends and neutralizes their enemies.

Any day now the train will pull up to escort Cal to the NCAA Concentration Camp. Hope he doesn't use the showers.

The only reason I really watch college basketball is b/c I was raised a Kentucky fan. B/c the product sucks these days, and has slowly been declining over the past few decades. So many better sports options out there. But I am who I am, so college basketball it is. I seriously wonder why the rest of the country watches though.

UNC is going to win the title. Marcus lube up and get ready.
In five years when Roy has retired and the NC2A finally decides to rule on the academic fraud, that banner will be the first ever to come down [eyeroll]

So we got that going for us, which is nice.

I assume that the rest of the country doesn't... or at least they do in smaller numbers. With TBS having more of the games and attendance/ticket pricing being fairly low, I think it's practically a niche sport at this point.

-Eh, it needs help but it doesn't suck. Just a million different options these days drawing attention away unlike the 80-90's. Purist get it for 4 months and then the world tunes in for 2 weeks.

-What I was saying yesterday is the NCAA fixed the cavernous feel to the Final Fours with the new court-side temporary seating. Shouldn't be a issue for shooters.

-UNC is playing at a high level, much more inspired than 90% of the season. We'll see if that sticks.

-Kentucky's One & Done model. :joy: Wow, he's at least 3 years late on that article isn't he? I do appreciate that most of the media has changed their stance on 1&D these days once they realized it was immoral, hypocritical, and probably racist.

-Myfitnesspal clocked me in at 1600 calories for lunch yesterday. [sick]Felt like garbage the rest of the day. Chicken caesar for dinner.

-That weather though. Next time one of you f*ck boys talk about winter I may hit you with a blunt object.

-Someone mentioned it but UNC/Cuse in the Final Four can't be good for UL. Hehe.

-Maddios>>Blaze

-Keeneland & Derby both coming fast.

Monday Shorts:

- Well, we still have that pesky zone, a Villanova team I really like and Buddy Hield to save us.

- UNC is playing great ball, but my God, what a fortunate road.

- Bothers me seeing how well Brice Johnson has developed and then looking at Poythress and Lee being the same guys they were when they got here. I don't blame our staff, but still.

- I generally find sports fans taking the moral high ground on each other off-putting, BUT not for North Carolina. They deserve everything they get.

- Nice hire, Pitt!

- Scotti's was really good Saturday night. Love the atmosphere there. Been open over 100 years. Pompilio's is still my favorite Italian spot, though.

- One of my buddies had to deliver his baby on the side of 275 yesterday. :joy::flushed:

- My favorite March hobby is going to the Kansas board after they lose and read the annual thread on changing the format of the NCAA Tournament because of how unfair it is. :joy::joy::joy:

- Always enjoy a good Kansas-bashing piece. Here's a good one.

► In the last eight years, the Jayhawks have been a No. 1, No. 2, No. 2, No. 1, No. 2, No. 1, No. 1 and No. 3 seed in the NCAA tournament. And they turned those great regular season résumés into only one Final Four run.

► Kansas' loss to Villanova was Bill Self's ninth NCAA tournament loss as the better seed, tied with Mike Krzyzewski for the most since 2004, Self's first season at Kansas.

There have been as many great games & unreal finishes in this tournament as any. Yeah, some of the teams advancing aren't to my liking, but that's also the beauty of the tournament.

<--- wishes NCAAB and the tournament was 365 days per year. Sports is about to suck *** for 6 months outside of Golf Majors, so I guess congrats to all of you that horrid & unwatchable college basketball is almost over! [eyeroll]

Yeah, the bellyaching and poor-mouthing has gotten to be a little much in here. What sports isn't a "niche" sport these days? NFL and college football. That's about it. I know fewer and fewer true MLB fans every year. The NBA is obviously hot right now because of Curry and the Warriors, but how is it that different than college basketball as far as the regular season not being all that important? Golf is a niche sport. Same with NASCAR and NHL.

I'll ***** b/c my team consistently gets f*cked over by the NCAA, while blatant cheaters like Syracuse, UNC, Louisville, etc...go unpunished. In the late 80s, Kentucky had $500 cash fall out of an Emery envelope (allegedly), and the **** hit the fan and the team got hammered. Ruined 2 years of my HS fandom, and I barely go to see my favorite team play on tv. My team consistently gets the hardest draw in the Tournament, or we get severely underseeded. The hypocrisy gets really effing old.

But yeah, the buzzer beaters are great. **** team U just beat **** team X. Meanwhile my team played its Elite 8 game last week in the effing 2nd Round. Enjoy.

-Looking forward to bringing G up for a Reds game. For all the things they do wrong it seems like they take care of the churrin pretty well. Plus I gotsta sport that sweet Eric Davis T. Hopefully before it gets too hot. Maybe we can get a few of the other GYERO fams to meet us out there.

-WCC, pretty sure MCF and I will be at Keeneland on the 15th. Still working out the details with sitters and stuff. You all staying? Need us to get you clubhouse passes?

I'll tell you what is annoying about CBB in this OAD Era, though- just how lopsided the seasons are. If UK 2015 played in 2011, 2013, 2014 or 2016-> :boom:

Have to wonder if/when one of our good teams will happen in the 'down' year? Along with every other thing involving the tournament, our luck with that has been poor.

Awesome. No, we're taking a bus down so leaving after the last race. Appreciate the clubhouse offer, but I don't know how many will be with us and I don't want to wear a tie.

Our four best teams have come about during the four strongest years across the board ('10, '12, '15 and '17).

One of Alex's best friends is coming into town from Boston that weekend and really wanted to do the southern Keeneland thing. Want to show her a good time. She's never been to this area.

-Anth, the Reds do a pretty cool thing for kids attending their first game(at least, they were as of 2010 or so). They have a stroller check, and will give you a certificate commemorating G's first Reds game. Maybe 1-2 other little things too. Seems like I got all that from Guest Services.

-Speaking of baseball, perused the SI baseball preview issue this week during hoops timeouts, and it was a pretty startling reminder just how out of the loop I've been with baseball since I quit playing fantasy ball a few years back. Recognized maybe half the names from the starting lineups. And of the lineups where I did recognize nearly all the names(Reds, Yankees, etc.), none are considered to be contenders.

-McD's AA game this week. Purely secondary viewing, though I do hope Timbaland is the halftime show, just for old times' sake.

-Best burger in Versailles is at a pool hall. Best breakfast is at a gas station. Figures.

-Miss those old Final Four highlight shows they used to air every March on ESPN, hosted by Bob Ley. Basically their version of NFL Films Productions.

I'm shocked - SHOCKED - that notjustabasketballcoachbutaleaderofmen ***** K actually fessed up to lying about that whole Brooks deal. That kid would've rocketed to the top of my all-time favorite Wildcat list if he would've told K to keep his advice to himself and worry about the trippy ***** he never says a bad word about.

2012.

Got a weak UL and Kansas in the Final Four. UNC lost their starting PG as our only real competition. Ohio State underachieved but yeah nothing like our blown opps the other 3 years when it opened up.

I assume you're talking about dough daddy's? The #1 at McDonald's beats a doughnut. Good lord.

-Nope. The gas station downtown, across from the Christian Church. They do eggs, biscuits, gravy, bacon, etc. Greasy-spoon type stuff, but it's actually pretty good, big servings for cheap. Usually a long line. Not a fan of Doughdaddys.

-Had completely missed that DeAndre Ayton is playing for the World Team in the Nike Summit. Will be cool to watch him square off against Bolden.

I'd rather not have played a blood rival in the Final Four, with them having a chance to end one of our greatest seasons of all time. Maybe that's just me though.

Although, the upside of playing rivals in the tournament is the extraordinary sweetness of winning.
