Still trying to figure out what's wrong with PPat or Chuck Hayes being on an all-time favorite wildcat team...

The criteria shifts for everyone but I would say you have these types of players who endear themselves to fans:

1. Culture changers: Mash and Wall. Both made it okay and cool to come to UK again. Greats.
2. Tough guys: Magloire, Liggins, Cousins. Guys we love but everyone else hates, that's why we love them more.
3. The Rocks: PPat, Ulis, Hayes. Dependable, selfless, high IQ players that squeezed what they could out of their talent, deferred when necessary, stepped up when needed.
4. Hometown Heros: Ky boys and adopted Ky boys (S. Woods, J. Sheppard)
5. Whoever you loved the most when you were a 12ish year old fan...the apex. I hope all of you were lucky enough to get a player like Mash. No, wait a minute...there was never, has never, and will never be anyone greater than the Monster Mash.
