The fact that I was relying on a UL women's loss to give me some type of comfort is proof that i'm a bit too wound up right now. Anxiously awaiting socially awkward UL Sheriff's reaction to that loss is a bit unhealthy, even for me.

That was one takeway I got this weekend from my interaction with UL fans. They care about all their sports. Now it is baseball season.

3 Fingers.

I know we've been spoiled. First to admit it. Doesn't change the fact that we've lost to inferior teams each year in excruciating fashion.

I'm just personally not going to overhype my expectations before the season starts.

We've lost to the champions twice, a 1-seed, a 2-seed and now Indiana- our worst NCAA loss.

You all, of all people, not understanding why TBS, and eventually TNT, will occasionally have the F4 has me scratching my head. I suppose we could go back to games only on CBS and their deal with DirecTV.

Indeed, but the chances of me attending a baby shower during a UK Tournament game are 0%. Wouldn't matter who's shower it was, and the *closer* they were to me in life, the more I assume they'd understand -- not that I'd give a **** either way.

They must not *get it* that much if they had a shower during the middle of the Saturday of opening weekend of the NCAAT. What am I missing here?

I was about to say the same thing, UCL. When was the last time we lost an NCAA Tournament game while playing well?

It's not just the losing, it's the bed-shitting. 1 for 9 from three by a guy who'd shot damn near 50% over the second half of the season? Really? And then yesterday Buddy Hield puts up 29 in the second half of his game, because that's what All-Americans do.

Not a banner day for Cal, either.

Everything sucks. Thank God for Katina Powell.

That flop was awful, but if you stat driving in like a maniac with your head down from that far out, you're gonna get called for it in 2016. Should you? No. But you will.

My biggest takeway from the last couple of years in the tourney is- it's pretty touching hard to win a national title.

UNC academic scandal, Syracuse being a bubble team because their HC was suspended this year, Louisville's three fingers and a moan issues- the ACC seems like more of an outlaw conference than SEC football these days, and I'm sure the media will pick up on that leading up to the sweet 16.

Nothing like watching a UK NCAA tournament game with 5 UofL fans on your phone, going through **** County Georgia after you've been in a minivan for 12 hours already. After the loss I just silently seethed in the front seat for about 3 hours. Fortunately, none of them really said anything. They knew better.

Even when we win, this always sucks because we have a long 5 months until college sports comes back.

Oh well. Have a Keeneland trip, Atlanta trip and San Francisco trip all on the horizon. And warm weather.

"Maybe that guy needs to find another place to hang out." to which he replied, "or maybe you do." So they left. I guess its good to have some friends who are hard into college sports and *get it*. To the point where if someone else doesnt understand, they can take a hike.

"Like"

-Against better judgement, and close to blackout, decided to go with some folks to a joint called "Mommas" in Nicholasville which I'd never been to or will ever return. Only thing I remember was it seemed to primarily be a biker bar, Gordon Crowe's band was playing, and at some point, pulled a Houdini, called a cab and got picked up at the BP on Cat Nip...$50 dollars later, was at the crib. Will also go out on a limb and say walking down 27 piss drunk is not a good idea.

-Really need to start making some better choices, guys, and that starts with not watching anymore of this tourney.

-At least Dunbar winning State salvaged the week-end.

/sigh.

I was actually rooting for XU last night because a) Wisconsin and b) UNC but a small, barely perceptible part of me thinks it'd be funny if Wisconsin finally won a title the year Bo Ryan quit due to sidepiece issues.

It wasnt for his kid. They hosted one for a a friend of our wives that lives out west and had this planned a while ago bc it was the only time they could get in town. It was the perfect storm worst case scenario.

I had the free pass from my wife- and I think she actually didnt want me there for obvious reasons. But with us moving back, a lot of her friends have helped us out a lot lately so i thought i owed it to them to show up- and I felt like as long as I was in my own little solitary place come game time that I would be fine. I never really felt like we'd lose either. I even picked IU in my little bracket to try and assure an easy win and cover. Assumed we'd win and I would be in a great mood- my wife would be happy with my behavior, the whole nine yards. Complete backfire.

I was thinking yesterday- what the hell was I- were we- all doing in the late 00s when we not only were losing in the 2nd round but also had Tubby/BCG as our coach and a bleak outlook? How did I get through that?

At least with Cal, we always have optimism. Here comes Fox, Monk and a huge dose of frontcourt badassery.

The #1 reason the charge sucks, even more than the flopping, is that the defender is actually completely surrenduring his ability to defend. You're rewarding someone quitting on the play.

A charge should be called when a defensive player has position, and is run over. Instead, it's called when the defensive player is too incapable of playing defense, so he gives up entirely and falls over. Just pathetic.

If discussing who is airing the F4 two days after a loss hurts your feelings then you probably need to take some time off. Especially when the game isn't mentioned.

Has just been a miserable week(end):

My grandmother who hasn't been doing well for a while is back in the hospital with a plethora of issues. Just breaks my heart to see her so scared and helpless knowing there's not a GD thing I can do.

My grandfather on the other side just learned in addition to his macular degeneration in his left eye, now he has it in his right eye, and they found cancer in two spots on his face that is starting to spread so he is going blind and has two surgeries to hopefully take the cancer from his face towards the end of the month. These are the only two I've got left...

Just lost it after the game Saturday....total child like hissy fit. Hit the sliding closet doors so hard it broke both of them off the track

The raftard in me is still hoping Ulis is so pissed about not getting a ring that he comes back.

Done with the tourney...just can't watch/care anymore. Totally ruins sports when we lose early.

MAYBE WE CAN STILL MAKE IT TO THE FINAL FOUR AND MATTHEW MITCHELL CAN HELP COACH COW IN THE TOURNEY NEXT YR AND WITH SOME DANCE MOVES LOLOL. It's nice and all that the women are doing well, but eff women's bball right now.

I deleted my Twitter with about 5 minutes to go in the game. I had a whole bunch of **** in the barrel for that Crimson quarry guy and his buddy that was tweeting about Lexington all day. Couldn't stand to see the gloating from them and the rest of the Internet so you guys can get some satisfaction from the loss.

My biggest hope for next year is that Brad calipari shocks us all and is a lights out 3p shooter and he becomes the most hated player in the history of God. Can you imagine if coach k had a son play for him and the dude was ice water from deep? Omg people would riot. Really hope this happens

Tried Joelle's hot chicken out yesterday. Not bad. Went with the tenders on hot, might try the fire in da hole next time.

GEL was fun last night. Group therapy in a way.

What the NCAA Tournament Committee should do is Seed the teams and then draw the matchups out of a hat. And then place teams in their locations by geography after the matchups have been determined, giving preference the Top 4 Seeds only. Seems pretty easy to do, and would take a lot of the BS favorable matchups out of the equation.

I kept thinking this too. I absolutely know its not a rational approach and he's going to enter the draft with his stock at a pretty high level-- but man I keep thinking maybe there's a way...

Ursch, the slow white players are beating the guy to the spot. That's real defense.

Didn't matter, I think deep down we all knew but we had convinced ourselves that we had a chance(at least I did/do every year regardless of how ****** we are).

Kind of like by the start of every football season most everyone is pumped and convinced this is the year we make the step forward...

Still can't get over that UNI game. Down 12 w/ 44 seconds to go? o_O

Crazy that they were involved in 2 of the best finishes in NCAAT history in back to back games, and on both sides. Buzzer beaters are obviously the norm, but when was the last legit HALF COURT buzzer beater to win?

Felt terrible for those kids to have their magic ruined like that, but damn.

-Silver Lining for this tournament ------> Up $2400+ since conference tournaments started. Balance sitting at a cool $1960. Shew. :fire: #GAMBOL

-I'm also winning the GYERO/Bryant Bracket, if anyone is scoring at home.

-Our team wasn't winning ****. We may have had a nice run in us, but our draw ended those dreams for me. Cats by 90.

Might be all in on Buddy Hield and OU from this point forward. Just a depressing assemblage of teams to pick from re who to root for.

Oklahoma, Villanova, Maryland, A&M, Miami, Virginia. Lots of teams left I don't mind.

I knows the 1s are unscathed so far, but now is when they have to beat some teams.

UNC is gonna crush IU. Wish I'd gotten in at -4, it's already up to -6 and will rise another point or two imo.
