-Remember that 1986 semifinal Saturday morning well. Even as a 12-year-old, I was convinced those refs wouldn't make it out of the arena alive. They used to sell VHS copies of past Sweet 16 games and I checked a few years ago to see if that one was still available, but nope.

-The 1990 Holmes team had Corey(Alphonso was gone by then)....and some Euro named Drazen Katinic that could really play, and a big goofy white kid named Eilers. That team was fun to watch, and could play. Goodness. No match for Fairdale's big three though....I was convinced that Carlos Turner was gonna be a college All-American. Loved his game.

Chicks love the Latin guy. I mean, Rico Suave is a song bragging about being a gigolo and crushing all kinds of tail, and the girls just go crazy for him. Then dude cheats on his wife 500+ times and gets away with it, for basically saying I'm Latin, its just what we do...

Where is the feminazi outrage?

I mean, he basically told his wife he was cheating when he wrote this song. I'm not sure what he has to apologize for.

I don't drink or smoke ain't into dope
Won't try no coke, ask me how I do it, I cope
My only addiction has to do with the female species
I eat 'em raw like sushi

So please don't judge a book by its cover
There's more to being a latin lover
You got to know how to deal with a woman
That won't let go
The price you pay for being a gigolo

There's not a woman that can handle
A man like me
That's why I juggle two or three*
I ain't one to commit, you can omit that bit
You pop the question that's it

So again don't let my lyrics mislead you
I don't love you but I need you
Would you rather have me lie
Take a piece of your pie and say bye
Or be honest and rub your thighs

Well, it's ten o'clock and I'm two hours late
I never said I was a prompt date
But you kept persisting that I meet your parents
Huh, they're going to love my appearance

I'm used to good ol' fashioned
Homestyle Spanish cooking
If i try that I'll be puking
Well it's been a pleasure but we got to go

I'm sure the young guys won't appreciate this, but before the interwebs, music videos were a legit source of fantasy material.

Top 5 music videos featuring desirable females (Pre-2000):

Warrant-Cherry Pie
Motley Crue-Girls Girls Girls
Gerardo-Rico Sauve
Billy Idol-Rock the Cradle of Love
David Lee Roth-California Girls

Girls on Film (Duran Duran and bonus points for the R rated version) and Hot For Teacher (Van Halen) disagrees with your top 5.

Google Girls on film R Rated version. Easily number 1 video of whacking material.

Know a couple 40+ dudes out of long marriages that are/have been raking. I'm sure you're no where near point yet but good luck. Roll with Joey the B when you're ready.

I take a little step away from GYERO for a few weeks, and return to find you people mouth humping JTB nonstop. I'm happy for the guy, but not so sure how I feel about his elevated profile. Seems fairly hasty, imo. We sure about this??

Please let this be true.

Oh it's true, pretty impeccable source.

It's whether it will get swept under the rug with a major payoff or if it'll get real juicy and go public is the question.

Speaking of baseball...gyeros favorite baseball player has played on the twins, Phillies, jays, and Nats in his 6 service years. That's *got* to suck...dude basically lives in a hotel even when he gets to come back 'home'. Pointless to buy a house anywhere but his hometown since he gets traded so much.

Here's a nugget on how the Phillies are as an organization. The apt they had him in came furnished and the largest TV was 32". What a joke. Also...evidently cliff Lee and Jimmy Rollins got in a fight before a game over the locker room music [laughing].

Pretty interesting to see the inner workings of all those guys do off the field. Being on a plane and in hotels every 3 days would drive me insane. Was planning on heading to spring training for a week this year but I've got too much going on and will already have to take off a week in June for my 16u Wood bat tourney in effing Raleigh. Also have wkend tourneys in Colombus and Indianapolis... Slice, is that pretty normal nowadays for that age group? I feel that for the wood bat world series, but for a weekend tourney anything over 2hr drive seems a bit much, IMO. Happy to be moving up in age group, the middle schoolers I had last year had the attention span of squirrels. What an awkward age group.

That '90 Holmes team ended my career when they squeaked by us 128-73 in the district semis. Guess who was stuck trying to guard Eilers most of the game? I was 5'10 165, which was about the equivalent of one of his thighs.

Jack Jennings had already been gone for at least 2 yrs. They eliminated us my Jr. too, and he wasn't on that team either.

But the team that got screwed in the Sweet 16 was older. I think it was around the Dicky Beal era. The player that reached up through the basket and pushed what should've been the winning shot back out either went to UK or UL.

"One of the most memorable state tournament visits in Bulldog history was that of 1978. The tour- ney began with a first round win over Ashland’s Paul Blazer High School by a score of 86-60. A second round victory over Bowling Green, 83-71, sent Holmes to the semi-final match where they easily de- feated Christian County by a score of 75-59. In what has become the most controversial finish in Kentucky high school basketball tournament play, Holmes was defeated in the championship game by Shelby County in overtime by a score of 68-66. A missed goaltending call on Shelby County’s Charles Hurt took away what would have been a winning basket by Holmes’ Doug Scholemer in regulation play. Hurt’s last second shot tied the game and Shelby County’s Norris Beckley connected on crucial free throws in the overtime period to seal Shelby County’s win. A half-page photograph of the obvious missed goaltend- ing call appeared on the front page of newspapers all over the state the following day."

2-3 hour drive is pretty common for an AAU tourney. Actually that's pretty daMN short.

-My last name is pronounced Shooty, so "******" was a pretty common occurrence for my nickname. **** Bag is pretty natural. Probably set myself up for it honestly

Ballar got theur *** kicked by us in everything when we went there. We even beat their gay *** soccer team.

Thats right. Iirc, Buckhorn drew that Jennings team first year they started the rotation to Freedom Hall. Kid was still a mule, though.

-That Fairdale squad stayed in the Galt House when we stayed there. Turner and a few teammates happened to ride up with me and the fam on the elevator. My mother, whipped around and said..you sure would look good in Blue. His reply was "I'd love to go to UK and get all that money."

Piece of ****.

Didn't he murder his girlfriend or her family after he went to S Carolina? Can't remember.

-1978 I was 5...and we still lived in Hazard.

Is your dad's name Ed? If so, (a) damn, I'm old; and (b) I am friends with some buddies of his. They went to Eastern too, in the 80s.

Just got a chance to check out that video on the 10 squad. Mercy. When they started talking about WVU you could see the hurt in their eyes even after 6 years. Dudes were devastated as much as the fanbase.

They are mercs who don't care about your program.

********.

I'd rather talk about my internet friends than watch Leo snort blow off a strippers butthole with my mom again...between that and Bad Santa I'll probably never get to pick the Christmas movie ever again.

Off it, up it...all really awkward sitting next to mom.

Wouldn't have cared at all had it been just my dad. We probably would have laughed, maybe even hi-fived.

Saw it on opening day, had no luck catching spoiler or heads up....the previews didn't look that bad.
