Honestly, if we had a new arena or renovated Rupp with boxes it would vastly improve the atmosphere.

People ***** about the "blue hair big donors" but much of the non-cheering crowd consist of corporate block seating, much of which is given away to passive "fans" or even non-fans just there because it's an event, networking opportunity.

If those people were regulated to corporate boxes, I think that alone would improve the arena atmosphere ten fold, whether it be made of students or just fans that like their cayts.

This time next week, I'll be in Ft. Lauderdale for Spring Break [banana]:cool2:

Selfishly praying for the Friday/Sunday NCAA draw. I'll be driving back all day Saturday, and I don't think the guys I'm going with will want to stop for the game.

It's hard to describe how wodie this time of the year is. Woke up Saturday and crushed a 9:00AM workout. Swung by the church to vote for my favorite Republican and then strolled down to Rupp around 12:30. Landed free lowers and hospitality room passes. I'll be damned if I haven't been going to Rupp Arena for 9 years and never knew those little rooms existed. Free bourbon and a spread of food made the Rupp pregame experience a hell of a lot cooler. Swung back in at half to slam another bourbon and grab a few more chicken wings. Awesome day to be in Rupp.

Was feeling a little down last month about bailing on the dessert to head south to Nashville..... False

Next 3 days of work will be fun. Focus will be thrown out the window by Wednesday.

Can't imagine the NCAA is happy with that fact that the school is attempting to keep their coach who oversaw a multi-year sex player/recruit scandal in his program.

Pretty much says to the NCAA they haven't learned a thing.

The great thing about all of this is it doesn't really matter if Pitino leaves or not. If he does, we'll lol for eternity. If he doesn't, it'll be used against him at every turn, he'll never be given the benefit of the doubt again, his reputation has been permanently tarnished, and we'll drive him further into insanity by pounding his anus every December.

That, fellas, is what we call a win-win situation.

Had to listen to that 2001 Round 2 game against Iowa on the radio as we were driving back from Spring Break in Florida through the mountains with a 6-day compound hangover. That was fun.

I also doubt the NCAA has forgotten that Louisville kept a coach that had a show-cause from a different school.

I kind of want to see Pitino fired, but I also think it would be funny the shame the Louisville program would have nationally keeping this guy with two sex scandals hanging over him. How could anyone take that program seriously?

zero point zero chance of that. Unless Brax is 6'5" or something

B Rax is probably 6'3" or 6'4", I bet. Like Tomma J, he's a big boy.

Great time last night catching up with the people I've already met, and meeting guys like Pope, Cricket, UCL, B Rax, Jayroon, etc for the first time. Good dudes, all. Think we add Adam and Transy next week.

Was a little surprised to show up the church and see that they had a full 94 foot court. Was definitely hoping for a little more of an elementary school sized court, to save everyone's lungs. Ran the first game full court, but had to take a media time out at 5-2. [laughing] The baskets were temporary, so we moved them up for the next few games.

We may not have much depth, but we've got some good players. Geese is very solid. Best looking J of the crew, good passer, moves well without the ball. His buddy Joey is probably the best overall player. Also a good shooter, and very strong on the drive. Jayroon was the revelation. Kind of a weird looking stroke, but he was probably the leading scorer of the night. Was pouring them in for a while.

Boat liked to rely on the three a little too much. A little "Demarcus Cousins in high school" with his game...get inside and bang, big fella. Cricket was the best post scorer...space eater with good touch. UCL was clearly in the best shape. The rest of us are way past our prime, so to speak.

No injuries, but I'm definitely feeling it today. Don't know how much Advil is too much Advil, but I'm probably going to find out.

-Love most of the blue hairs. Have 2 that sit next to me. They're great. Know basketball as well as 95% of this fan base, get up and cheer, scowl at people showing up late. One of my favorite parts of Rupp is the little old ladies that understand the difference in block/charge/player control.

-Meh, Louisville doesn't exist.

-This needs to be a 2011 style SECT. Man, that was fun. What a roll that team got on.

-No students will ever go sidelines. Especially low. The very last lower temporary seats on the sideline are currently 600k+ donation. That is the worst of the sideline seats in the area you would want students.

-This ******** about UK's game atmosphere being poor is just that. Yeah, we don't go full boner for 1 game every 3-4 years. We just show up in thundering force EVERY SINGLE GAME, including scrimmage, TWENTY FIVE THOUSAND strong. In snow, rain, storms, heat, preason, practice, ****** games in ice storms. Duke and Kansas may have better atmospheres. That's it. We know when to get up and we do. Kentucky has one of the best home court advantages in college sports. Period. Stupid conversation.

Oh so we can just stock the team with "friends" that otherwise have no involvement with Gyero?

We needed the bodies and they're competent basketball players. Do we need to get registration forms made up with IP address/board handle and birth certificate? Assuming the Lex/Lou showdown will be GYERO 1st degree of separation but until then? Just let us get our legs under us.

Grief.

I mean, everyone apparently sucks but your friends and now with them it's "going to be a great game!"

K. Sounds fun! Interesting to see Cal's rent-a-player strategy employed at this level, I guess. We'll remain L1C4, keeping the true spirit of pickup basketball in tact.

Yet, still a majority of their fans act like nothing ever even happened. This weekend I got the pleasure of hearing several of my buddies at UofL/numerous other random people share their thoughts on the current state of their program. They seemed to all agree the violations didn't bother them and didn't see the harm in keeping Pitino. Like, they were completely clueless that the entire college basketball realm is collectively laughing in their program's face. Heavenly, host.

Don't care who the Louisville has playing with them because the chance of a Lexington/Louisville showdown is about <2%.
Ha yeah, that's what they said about a gathering like the Olympics for years on here.

Not that hard to do if people take about 30 minutes to find a spot and date and go with it.

Will everyone make it? Nope. But to think that finding an afternoon one weekend to play a few games of pickup ball, grabbing a couple frosties at hOOts before heading home is some monumental task is just wrong.

But I commend you for throwing that notion out there as a defense mechanism to try and stave off that inevitable *** whipping.
