Think officiating overall in college basketball is really bad. There's not much consistency and it's laughable how much they are affected by the human nature element of the home crowd.

To be fair, the Cats benefit from this as well at Rupp.
Exactly. It's not about bitching about getting screwed over. It's about being able to use your eyes and your brain and seeing that these guys aren't good at what they do, and they're not consistent.

The bottom three teams in this conference are a combined 34-55 in conference. At home? They're 12-13. The top three teams in the conference are 12-14 on the road. You don't have to be a genius to figure out that's a mess. Being at home provides an advantage, but this year in the SEC it has meant that if you're one of the best teams playing one of the worst teams, it's irrelevant if you're on the road. Good and bad is interchangeable with home and away. That points to bad officiating.

For comparison's sake, the top three teams in the Big 12 on the road are 15-11. The bottom three at home are 8-16.

But if it makes ABH feel like a sports genius to act like officials are never an issue, and that you can't observe the glaring problem without being a homer-idiot, he can have at it.

I mean, I thought it was well-established that NOBODY IS ANY GOOD this year, so the "top" teams losing on the road at a high clip would make sense to me. Not sure how one would draw the conclusion that officiating somehow caused it?
I wondered the same thing, which is why I provided a comparison to another league. I'd have done more conferences but I don't have time. A mediocre season is why the best of the Big 12 are only 15-11. But the SEC is worse than random. Homecourt should and does mean something, but talent should win at least a little better than .500 vs. Home and Away.

I have no clue the point you are trying to make about home and road games. Here's a thought- the SEC is fu*$*%g awful this year, which is why its highest ranked team is 22nd in the country and only 1 team is ranked. Nooooo, it has to be the conspiracy of the refs out to screw the SEC because they are good in football and everyone hates Cal!!!! K.

College hoops reffing has always sucked, this year is no different. Watch any game, its not just UK. Its everyone. Also, the product and quality of team and player on the floor in the NCAA is complete dogshit this year, the worst its ever been in the history of the game honestly. There are ****** players everywhere who arent good enough to play decent defense, or offense for that matter. But that probably has nothing to do with it either. Its the refs!!!!!!!

People like you and UL fans cry over the refs this year because weve lost 8 times, you arent used to losing and you need someone to blame, when in reality the makeup of this team is what determines the amount of fouls. You should make one of those posts like the UL fan did with all the different pictures of UK fouling them in our FF game against them. That is exactly what you sound like.

College reffing has always sucked, its very arbitrary. It always will be. Deal with it.

BBdK, I tried to reach out to you on gchat, but you are ignoring me. So I will ask all of GYERO.

any lunch suggestions tomorrow in Louisville?
i'm going with a client who is letting me pick this time. In the past, they have picked O'Charley's and Aspen Creek.
oh and we've also been to Ditto's.

I would like something a little less in the chain food vein. Any part of town is okay, but their office is sorta south of the Watterson in the Fern Creek area.

Hey SAE, it's okay if you "post at me" if you aren't being mean.

Thanks for the suggestions GYERO. It doesn't HAVE to be in Fern Creek, I was just giving a little reference to where they will be coming from. Sake Blue sounds good if my compadres will eat sushi.

Said they are resuming work on underground parking garage. Emphasized hole will not be an amphitheater or park (ball pit, apple bob, dungeon lair, etc), it will bring jobs to Lexington!!!!!! DAMNIT

Sloot,
Hop in the car and head on down to The Table in Portland. It will show you're unafraid to share a meal with the common folk while providing you with some street cred at the same time.

With the trucks and heavy equipment in there it looks like the perfect place for a Twisted Metal style vehicle combat arena.

What I'd like to understand is how are the UofL rings not a violation? Remember when the athletic department talked about doing rings for the football team under GuyMo when we were on probation and the NCAA said absolutely not. I assume it's because UofL isn't officially on NCAA probation right now, just self-imposed.

Work 1 day on The Hole, take next 89 off. Then 1 day on, 89 off. Prevent city takeover for perpetuity.

in 1991 the SEC threw a hissy fit at the idea of tourney-banned UK putting up a banner or in any way recognizing our team has having the best regular season record in the conference (WHICH WE ACTUALLY DID). Wonder if Floyd St. U even bothered to check with the ACC if they were fine with all aspects of this "championship celebration".

How'd Florida beat anybody? That's my only real takeaway from tonight. Gosh, they stink
Florida was a tourney team, at home in a must win, with their best player on senior night. Why are we diminishing the W? It was really good win for us and really for the rest of the teams around us. Lots of good from last night. We do match up well with UF, tho.

- I liked the confidence, energy and rebounding from Big Skal. Unlike Redass, I still think he can give us something. Do you start him again Saturday? He responded last night.

- I think we end up 3-seed, but I'm curious if we win out, can we grab a 2. Doubtful and those losses to Tennessee and Auburn are killers.

- How good is Murray? It's ridiculous. Let's just ask it...is he better than Booker? 9 straight with 20 or more. I think every shot is going in and he gets it up likethat.
Marcus give him the start. I'm down, he earned it.

Don't forget there are a lot of loses coming in the top 20 over the next 2 weeks. Field should keep coming back to us. The computers like us.

He's unreal. In college he's absolutely better. I mean he's having a top 6 Cal player season. Davis, Ulis, Wall, Knight, Murray, Cousins. I would probably put him behind Davis, Wall and Ulis. NBA, man I don't know. I'd go booker if I absolutely was forced but I dunno. Murray is going to play for a long time.

We had the resume of a 2 Seed/3 Seed in 2011, and were rated the lowest 4 Seed in Ohio State's bracket. .
Much more structured top 25 that year with some good teams. This year is really murky from top to bottom. I do not envy the committee deciding on the bubble line.

ABH finally having some actual takes? Interesting.. and he's dead on. :100points:
He's in a Reggie Miller zone. Having a solid day. I agree on fouls except -> KU. I think we got jobbed there.

We got some big snows here in Lexington, maybe you just live in the wrong place.
Don't forget we have better food, booze and WAY less random bullets flying through the air. Also, we only have one pit. Cincy is basically a massive **** hole pit with 2 or 3 little pockets of green.

Fern Creek is more Snyder to Hurstbourne as opposed to Watterson. If closer to the Watterson, I would say Yummy Pollo but the inside setup is probably not conducive to selling.

Fern Creek is pretty much the ******* of Louisville. Hard to reach and a lot of **** there. Hate going out that direction.

You can get over to Mussel Burger pretty easily.

-I love the bow and arrow. Much better than the arm reload. [laughing] at watching and teaching clumsy Sloot how to do it. She just couldn't get it down.

Apple potentially deciding to ditch the headphone jack in favor of using the lightning cable is the dumbest GD idea in the history of phones. How about you don't make the already thin phone 7mm thinner and you leave it right where it is? Is there anyone really clamoring for a thinner phone? Don't 99% of people put their phones in a case anyway?

My father lives out there- and its the worst. I've tried for years to get him to move, but he cant fathom living too far away from wildwood.

Shout out to one Fern Creek family in particular that recovered my dog who ran away when my wife left my dad's back door open (which prompted a comment on "You expect me to believe you'll be a good mother and you cant even take care of a dog?" which led to some other comments) over the weekend. She called the number on his tag after he got about a mile away or so... show up to their house, she's outside with a few others, burning a few heaters and enjoying the sunshine. Good people, but yeah FC is not desirable in the least.

This is where it sucks that the town doesn't have a Jerry Tipton. His *** would be on the phone with the NCAA.

The NCAA does allow for rings to commemorate league championships, final fours etc. I don't see how it isn't a violation to hand them expensive jewelry for doing nothing. Why not an envelope of cash?
