This guy from The Princess Bride has always reminded me of Bobcat.

-My sis was not amused that we skipped my nephew's 2nd birthday party this year. The party was at 5p when tip-off was 4p.

"UK has lots of games every year, but he only has one birthday. I guess I just don't understand because I'm not a fanatic." We made up for it by visiting the next day.

-I walked to the game on Tuesday night behind a dad with his two boys as he said to them "look up there, see that sign? It says Rupp Arena!" and then the boys started skipping and so did the dad. It was really cute.

-I'm thinking about taking G to a non-UK game at the SEC Tourney to see his reaction to everything. I think that's easier than dealing with an 8 month old during a UK game. Somehow all the road games have timed out where bedtime/naptime comes at halftime. that happens this Saturday as well.

-I love the KSR podcasts and the Matt Jones podcasts, but I can't seem to keep up listening to them all these days. Guess I should walk around the world with headphones in my ears all the time.

OK, game on the line. UK down one with 15 seconds to play- what's your play call (BESIDES posting Sheray up on the block)?

If down one, I think I do the Murray backscreen for the lob. I think that either gives you Marcus for the lob or Murray for the top-of-the-key three.

If down three, I like the little play where Murray or Willis gets open on the wing, depending on either Willis or Murray popping out of the double screen. (does this make sense?)

Briscoe Jumper.

If that's not open though, give the ball to Ulis, let Murray run the baseline looking for a good screen. If they sag off Ulis, he pulls up, if they guard him close, penetrate and kick. Maybe look for a lob to Lee if they leave him.

The lob to Lee we ran out of the timeout against A&M was a thing of beauty. But with only 15 seconds left, I like Ulis pick and roll with a healthy Alex (no dickfingers please!) and/or running Murray off screens for a good look.

A big sets a screen for Ulis and he drives and makes whatever read he needs to. Whether its a pull up j, an oop for a dunk, or a kick out to the wing for Murray or Willis. My hope would be he keeps it and takes a shot or gets fouled and wins it at the line.

High probability Lee gets fouled and do you really want Marcus Lee going to the line down 1 with seconds left in the game?

Easy -----> Ulis 1-4, to create & likely pull up jumper...with options to dish if needed.

Pretty much where I'm at. I honestly didn't HATE the play against Kansas. I just think Murray messed up by not going to the corner and Ulis noticed that and lost his concentration.

I'd feel comfortable with Ulis or Murray taking the clutch J.

Keep it simple.

We ran it to tie A&M. I would say Lee converts the dunk 70% of the time... I will take it.

But I do like the 1-4 to keep it simple. I expect them to double Ulis though... and maybe even Murray, so someone is going to have to take a rushed shot, I think.

Wonder how WCC is gonna pop the question. I'm sure it will be lovely, however she has programmed him.

Worst story ever was buddy who had the ring in his pocket, trying to think of the right way to do it. Ended up going through a metal detector with her standing right there. Busted. Instead of just going for it, he did some other stupid attempt later that day...Fast forward, she ended up cheating on him, got divorced two years later.

So don't screw up the proposal pal!

I always wonder if there is an age you just say screw it and stay single. I.E. my roommate is 50 and single. If I hadn't figured it out by then I think I would be done. Seems most of the girls he dates have banged half the city of Lexington or has winy kind who don't accept him.

Puppies to the old singles

So the invitation offered a "or just visit the next day" option, or you all just felt your company was that valuable?

Thursday Takes:

- @B Rax how did the little dude's first UK game experience end up? My cousin just took his four year old last week. Gotta admit- those are the kinds of things that make you jealous of parents. Still remember my first game at Rupp with my old man and Uncle Davey (who passed away last summer). Have the pennant Dad got me that night hanging on my wall.

He had a great time. Seats were terrible, and I knew that going in, but didn't know how he'd react to sitting in the clouds. He didn't seem to mind it at all. (The extra room the back wall provides let him have some room to fidget, 6 year olds love to fidget) But he really enjoyed it. We'd been to BW games and the final four shoot around last year, but he'd never experienced an actual Rupp crowd. Did a lot of people watching, was really into all the videos, started hollerin' when Marcus lee dunked the ball. Got some pepsi's and nachos and watched the cats put away a fiesty 'Bama team that was fighting for their tournament lives. Awesome experience. Get to do it at least 2 more times, too:sunglasses::basketball:

50 year roommates consume 87% of the world's supply of Chick Fil A Polynesian sauce.
I changed up my order this week because of you guys. Tried the cheese on spicy Monday - it was ok. This morning I went honey on spicy instead of Polynesian. Thought that was better than both options tbh. Stuck with Arnold Palmer though. That's a hell of a beverage.
