Anybody who thinks this is on Humphries can go get pumped. Seriously, if that's what you think of this, eat my ***.

Haven't seen one person say it is.

I got ran for talking about the refs after the KU game, now it's the catch phrase, name another sport where the officials effect the outcome of a game more then college basketball, worse then Euro Soccer, best refs are the ones whose name you don't know.

Seriously, on a scale of 1-10 redass, I'm a forty. I left the house and I'm in a ******** parking lot so I don't scare my son and my 13 year old sister in law who we're watching tonight. I just set Owen down gently and told my wife "I'm gonna go somewhere."

The idea that anyone, let alone an official who should know better would think this was the right way for this game to go, makes me want to quit the whole ******* thing. Kentucky made the plays, but they didn't celebrate correctly. Why are we even doing this? Seriously, why are these guys working so hard? Do we need to practice how to celebrate? Because that's more important than boarding and blocking shots? Alright, I'm taking a few plays off. Sorry gang.

You know what drives me nuts? Shot clock violations. And how many did we have? At least 3 by my count.

Reverse affirmative action Bristol.
I'm not gonna get socio-political, but you're not wrong. It's only human nature for these 5'10 rejects from their high school team to subconsciously favor other less athletic dudes and to secretly resent 6'11 freaks of nature who almost literally fly around smaller players.

Tonight sucked for sure but this team is completely different with/without Willis. Gonna be holding our breath seeing how long he's gonna be out.

Was it even clear that Humphries meant to throw the ball? Seemed as if it came out as he began to throw hands with his team mates and didn't keep it. But I only saw it once and walked away before doing something to scare the kids.

I'm not trying to excuse the blatant upholding of the rule in a bad spot, but by his reaction immediately after it seemed he was aware of the rule.

I agree 100% on this, but I wonder if we see more of Briscoe running the show with the only two shooters on the wings. Also a healthy dose of Humphries could help to with possible inside/outside play.

I think we can get by 1 game w/o Willis, but we will look a lot different.

Willis barely sprained his ankle. Didn't even roll it over all the way. If he misses a game I'll be surprised.

Then again I just watched a ref call a tech with ten seconds to play for a player slamming a ball out of joy.

Is that T called at Rupp? I mean, if we're going by the letter of the law, Patty has to call that at Rupp. . .

*He wouldn't call it there.

I have sufficiently cooled off. I do think we have turned a corner, but now we can't seem to shake the injury bug. Did not like Bilas' description of Poythress barely being able to move at practice. Willis was becoming a key cog in the offense and has a nasty sprain. We have to get these guys back and healthy to have any chance at making a real run.

And yeah, I know that's not revolutionary ****, but I'm just frustrated that they seem to have finally figured things out and can't catch a break because of all the injuries and ******** officiating.

Maaaaaan, that **** happens and it sucks. Not mad at all anymore. In fact, I think in the long run that helps Humphries. Learning and all that. It's an insanely stupid way to call a game and possibly cost a game for a team but what are you going to do? We have turned A corner and I'm hoping its THE corner but that remains to be seen.

Keep calm heads and this March should be really fun. I have faith in these guys. Between this game and the KU game, we know we're better than most every team out there. It's wide open and if we can stay injury free and give effort, we're right there with everyone.

Here was the real lock. I knew as soon as Humphries was out that this would come down to an offensive rebound and that Skal would be there but be too weak to do anything. Sure as hell, he's out of position and then tripping and falling the lane as TAMU scores. The Aussie better get every damn second that Skal was supposed to get.

Katz overhead Jones bragging about thanking Humpries for the game. Hope there's payback in Nashville for that fvckboi.

Funny that even most rivals are pretty much agreeing what a horseshit call that was on Twitter.

Hard to imagine a scenario where NCAA violations would have occurred, but it certainly looks like there's a good chance university violations occurred. How much more can Turtleneck absord?

Morally bankrupt is putting it too mildly for those dirtbags. Most corrupt athletic department ever?

If you look at it as a whole, during that time span, I think there is a very good possibility that you can say its the most morally corrupt, win at all costs department in sports history. It's almost like they've tried to get the title. If all this happens at UK, I would be all in on cleaning house and saying, "Damn that was a good run." but we did some awful ****, time to move on, take the punishment and rebuild. Because if you don't.....

UK has to be a little careful. Redneck Potsie could have gotten them in some serious trouble last year if the rumors are true.

I don't understand, isn't KY a no fault state so what does it matter dragging people through the mud in a divorce? What's the advantage?

Yes. But I've never seen 2 people in a knock down drag out divorce bringing up things just to be nasty. I'd say 70% of my family is divorced and actually still friends with their ex. My parents weren't able to be friends after their divorce but they were civil during it.

Hell my wife and I filed but after getting some space we grew back together.

My point was more about what advantage is there to attacking someone's character? A money grab? Custody? I don't see where it benefits either side in KY where it technically doesn't matter. Or am I not understanding "no fault"?

Most divorces aren't like that. In most divorces the "advantage" to dragging the other person through the mud is that you hate that person and want to ruin their life.

Speculation here. He's very successful in business and has contributed the majority of the assets and would continue having a significant income in the future. She wants half plus serious alimony. He says nope, here is what you'll take. She says nope I want more. He says "fine, let's depose Strong and your other boyfriends and let the world know who you really are". He decided to go full nuclear option on her.

Fault can very much play a role when it comes to maintenance/alimony, plus custody is being contested, so both parties' lifestyles are relevant.

How awesome is Humphries? So much improvement since the beginning of the season. Kid is a gamer, and a hell of a rebounder. Gritty, scrappy...gives us a lot of toughness. Last night was a great step for him and his maturity process. He'll grow from his mistake, and just keep getting better. Love that kid. He's earned a lot more PT.

~ Bristol: GREAT post. All-timer. I love college basketball. I love the players. But it isn't a player's game anymore. Not sure if it ever was.

~ I go back to the 2014 SEC Tournament, Florida vs. Tennessee. Pat Adams calls a pretty dicey moving screen on Jeronne Maymon. Call could have gone either way. Adams calls the offensive foul and then doesn't take his eyes off of Maymon. Stares him down as if to say "I dare you to say something, anything." Sure enough, Maymon opens his mouth, technical, fifth foul, game effectively over. And in that particular situation, a player has to try and keep his cool. But it remains the only time I saw a referee goad a player into a technical foul.

Pat Adams inserted himself into what had been an otherwise good game and made the game about him.

Yeah.

There's more accountability for officiating in football. Officiating stinks in football too, but I've at least seen crews get suspended for it by their respective leagues. Adams and Doug Sirmons have worked the Final Four. Multiple times. You get there based on merit. Shew.

~ Dumb game. I'd like to think that towards the end of the game, Cal would have stuck with Humphries if the game had gone to 8 overtimes. I'd like to think that. His rebounding was too good for him to come out of the game without fouling out. Played his balls off, and thank goodness I haven't seen many folks making him out to be the goat.

~ The context of Skal being in the game at the end should be the context of Skal being in any game in any situation - multiple injuries and foul outs. When he makes a good play at Rupp, the crowd pops like he's Todd Svoboda or something. That's bad. He's bad. He shouldn't play. I'd take Todd Svoboda. In 2016.

~ Consider...

* True road game
* 2 injuries
* 2 foul outs
* That dumb technical, a turd cherry on top of a poop sundae of bad officiating both ways

...lost at the buzzer. If that's what it takes to beat Kentucky at this juncture of the season, fine. I can live with that. You have to. Hopefully by the NCAA, there won't be any true road games and we'll heal up, decreasing the likelihood of foul outs. That just leaves officiating, which is always what it is. Whatever.

If you weren't exaggerating above, you're a loser and need help.
