No, I just don't blame everyone else for my problems. From the beginning I said she shouldn't have used cuffs, but I'm not WHOA super offended. Much more offended that people are passing ADHD off as a mental disability like it's freaking downs. My primary care pediatrician that was my doctor for 18 years, actually. Took 3 different consults and 2 evaluations. Took meds for a month, didn't want to take meds every single day to be normal even though they worked. It wasn't adderal. So yeah, I absolutely have it. It's not debilitating but to this day it still takes work to control. It's absolutely over-diagnosed and over prescribed and also a crutch for ****** parents to blame something else for their child acting out.
Of course the people who use their child's issues to play a victim are idiot ********. But sometimes the kid actually is a victim.
Like when an 8 year old is bicep cuffed by a grown man wearing a badge and gun. The boy also has a history of trauma so no telling what's in his past. More than likely he's suffered some type of mental or emotional abuse from an adult, and now he's being cuffed by one of the few types of people he's probably been told his entire life are there to help and protect people.
That dipshit cop also handcuffed a girl of similar age twice, so it sounds like a repeating pattern.

You dont put kids that small in cuffs. Theres a reason why handcuffs wont fit kids. For Gods sake they cant even apply restraints to kids that commit felonys and are in juvenile facilities! I had some friends that started out their careers in juvenile facilities and kids under a certain age (maybe 12 or 13) can only be physically held til they get themselves tired out and under control. They could be placed in padded rooms but the door couldnt be secured only held shut til the kid tired himself down. Those guys were covered in scratch and bite scars! Its sad what some of them little fellas had to grow up in that made them go off the way they did.
I've worked with special needs, there absolutely are cases where the ADHD is a major disability...to the point that the student cannot function in a classroom setting. Even one on one is difficult with their mind constantly jumping, the attention span is literally a couple seconds.

Every school should have trained staff in restraint and seclusion, usually Special Ed. teachers and administrators. Unless the kid had a weapon or something, nothing like that should have happened.
I've got 3 touched up kids who were in the foster care system. One has severe ADHD and OCD and is medicated and this was due to her mother being on drugs while pregnant with her. She should be OK but school was a struggle her first year.
My youngest one has PTSD and that is far and away the hardest to deal with. You cannot handle discipline with him the same way you deal with a "normal" child. The story about that kid in Kenton County says he has PTSD so the cop putting him in handcuffs is really going to touch him up. The school system should have a Individualized Education Program (IEP) for that kid to deal with his behaviors. We had to pull our youngest out of school Kindergarten last year because the IEP was not ready and he had violent behavior. So I know first hand how this stuff happens. I certainly do not think putting that kid in handcuffs was correct and this story is somehow putting me on the same side as the ACLU which is polar opposite of what I believe.
I'd be willing to bet that kid came out of the foster care system or had some sort of traumatic situation in his life. He most likely did not have a normal family environment like most of people in this thread.

Handcuffing a 3rd grader - any 3rd grader - is f***ed up beyond belief. I'm not even sure how this is debatable.

* Not to be too Adrianesque with all of the food talk and a little hip hop thrown in, but I'm actually pretty excited for the new Dre to drop on Friday. The NWA movie trailer looked good, too.

If there was any significant buzz that Skal would be a no go we would've heard about from Biancardi, Katz, Greenburg, or maybe even Bilas.

If there were really anything of substance to worry about over the eligibility of any UK player, you'd have Thamel, Goodman, Forde and Parrish all over every available medium with their torches and pitchforks. The fact that the usual suspects aren't really making waves about it speaks volumes.
