If I was a player, I'd be rooting *heavily* for Montreal. That sounds like a sweet city to visit a few times a year. I'd much rather go there than Seattle.

Re: The Pacifier
My wife and I did the "Paci Fairy" for our oldest. We told her that the Paci Fairy came around to big girls' houses at night and gave gifts to big girls who didn't need them anymore. She put her pacifier in a gift bag and the fairy left her a stuffed animal or something. She never asked for it again.
On the flip side, she now asks for random gifts for doing **** she should've already been doing in the first place. "Hey, I cleaned my room! You guys should get me a two door JEEP!"

-NCAA FBall is the one thing that could get me back on the sticks again possibly. Otherwise, I try to stay away, just put my PS4 in storage, hadn’t used it in a year or two.

No shoes to keep tbe puppy from getting sick might be the dumbest **** I've ever heard. Thing was abandoned on the street two weeks ago, and I'm assuming still goes outside to poop.
Sounds like more of a crazy wife with nothing else to worry about so something had to be made up to occupy the oversized portion of a female brain that thrives on drama.

Neither of mine ever took one. Of course my 2.5 year old still gets the boob occasionally, to which my 4.5 year old mocks out loud. “Look dada, Gunner Grace still takes boobies”.
I support my 4.5 year old in her efforts of shame.
We made our 3yo give her pacci to AP.com's newborn since she is a "big girl" that doesn't need them, but babies do. It's gone over much better than I expected.
We dont wear shoes in the house because wearing shoes in the house is f*cking disgusting. One of the most confusing things in the world to me is you white people that wear shoes outside and then drag whatever onto your carpet/hardwood floors/whatever. Makes no sense. Has to be the only culture in the world where walking barefoot in your own home is somehow weird. But it’s also all over the place because there isn’t actually a set culture in this country. Just a no man’s land free for all of different rules and standards from one family to the next like a GD circus.

-i try not to step in nasty **** and lose the boots fairly soon after entry... but immediate shoes off is germaphobic hysteria.
-made dinner for wife and 2 other couples last night (allowed them to keep their shoes on):
-Pork tenderloin w/mustard and sage. Mashed potatoes, creamed carrots w/dill and tarragon, shrooms w/ onion and garlic marsala sauce. Steamed broccoli.
-tried a new "easy/quick" chocolate pots de creme recipe... no "setting" in the oven. Fine for a weeknight, but not as good as the traditional way.
-kids are hard... I won't say it gets easier but it gets different. Good luck!

I don't typically wear shoes while I'm in the house. I do wear them to my room where I take them off and put them on the shelf. Then I'll wear slides around the house. Right now though, if I forget something inside(which is like 75% of the time) and need to run in and grab it. I'm supposed up de-shoe, go find whatever I forgot, re-shoe, and leave. Lol.
You want it to go back to the 50s Ronnie boy, just say the word!!!!!!

My step dad once asked his vet friend why he charged what he did and so on and his reply was my kids wanted Jordan's and my wife likes to spend.
We have way too many animals but whatever. At 10 small dogs, 3 horses, chickens and guineas for days and barn cats. A creek that runs thru the middle of the small farm. We administer all the first 3 boosters to our dogs ourselves after they were born and none have never been given shots for anything else ever. We do their nails teeth etc. And never had a single problem with any of them.
Animals are extremely resilient. Vets and social media will try to sell you everything.
Our horses are maintained properly by a good friend farrier and vet. Lucky there. Creek is awesome. Don't overthink animals. We are the weak ones

Rhodesian Ridgebacks are bread to hunt African wildlife. Ain't touching that.
All our dogs we raised from birth. So they let us manhandle them. How big is your puppy? A trick on smaller dogs I've seen is putting them in a body harness and hang them from the harness if you have a flower hook on your porch or similar. Throws them off. Seems weird but it's old-school.
Vets will just muzzle bigger dogs and tie them down if they are aggressive.
Also white tip nails are easier than all black because you can see how far down to go. There is a powder you can buy in case you nip them and they bleed. They are better with my wife because a woman's touch I guess
Also the horns, deer antlers, knuckles etc if you can get them to chew those are way better for their teeth than any greenies or other treats they sell ya. Helps them lose old teeth or baby teeth on their own.
Also @Wodie Sloot you have one dog, spoil it spend money on it. they deserve it. We have way too many animals and i aint rich. So we have learned how to do as much as possible over time on our own.

Get something like this from Amazon and DIY
Amazon also sells a mat that is abrasive and the dog can learn to scratch it to shorten them.
You can also frequently walk the dog and the sidewalks will handle the nails.
I like those orange handle clippers.
Use lots of real peanut butter (not organic) and stick that somewhere to distract the dog.
Start off by just handling the dogs feet and reward them with treats. No clippers at all.
Then build up to letting the dog see the clippers, touch their paws with them and reward over and over. Clippers = reward in dog brain
Then, with help, begin by clipping one nail and then reward with treats. Don’t worry about doing a whole paw. Do one nail a day.

I for one am surprised that dogs have lasted as long as they have, throughout all of history, without all of the comforts now afforded them. Brushing their teeth, stupid expensive food, anal gland cleanings. Seems like they don’t live any longer than those 50 years ago but have become exponentially more expensive.

Well if you guys haven’t noticed, we are still on Parvo protocol. But she’ll get plenty of walks soon. (Even if I make Anth take his shoes off at the door.)

Oh and I ordered one of those nail boards and she’s been working on it with her teeth instead of her paws. 
.I've heard from my vet that it's pretty bad out there now, so props to you all for being cautious. I think with Covid there were naturally a lot more dogs not getting proper vaccinations, which probably hasn't helped. My pup ended up being incompletely vaccinated and tested positive for it last Fall. Fortunately, the symptoms were relatively mild and it didn't require hospitalization, but it still scared the hell out of me. Congrats on the new pup!

Hearing all of this parenting stuff makes me really glad to be a grandparent, spoil them and send them home....
