Wynn, if you’re just going to utilize the boat on a small lake you’d be better off getting a 8-10’ plastic boat with a trolling motor. Easier to maintain and store plus you can get the whole setup for around a grand or less. You also don’t have to license it if you own part of the lake.

I have 4 boats and 2 of them are the plastic ones that I can easily get in places you can’t get with a Tracker. Just use my 18.5’ Tracker with a 90hp on the river or medium sized lakes.
If you do get a Tracker don’t get a flat bottom or you’ll get beat up by the waves. The coast guard front end V hull is the only way to go. My 21’ Ranger splash with a 225hp is just for larger lakes. Makes it easier to get to different areas faster plus there’s the adrenaline rush of running 70mph on the water. The downside is that you’ll burn through a couple of hundo in gas a day but you’ll blast through 4-5 foot waves like they’re nothing.

Who is your favorite baseball team, UKO?

Reds...since my first WS game in 72 against the A's.

You need to accept reality and quit living in dream world. Oh but wait....they have many prospects and the chances of a division title in 2038 looks promising!!!

The Reds have played *20* rookies this year and despite being projected to lose 100 games are still tied for a Wild Card spot right now, with 38 games to play.

I know I shouldn’t be surprised but I am. Die hard fan for 5 decades who is desperate to prove how right he is that his favorite team sucks. Just bizarre. This season has been incredible and I’m so excited for the future (and present).

Reds' season comes down to the next 10 days, the dreaded August West Coast trip that has sunk many a promising CIN campaign. Gotta be at least .500 on it. If they can, I think they'll be in it thru September. If they turn in one of their common 2-8 trips out there, it would be hard to recover.

Brewers, Cubs, Giants all winning/won today.

I *believe* the Cubs have the easiest schedule coming down the stretch. 1 game up on the Reds/DB’s and only .5 game behind the Giants.

That 3 game series in Cincinnati the first weekend in Sept. with the Cubs could be a big one. I may make the trip up for a game or two in that one. Regardless of who your team is it sure is fun to be in the chase on the 3rd weekend in August.

🤫. Miller High Life cans is a secret shame. Out here on deck, draining a 12 pack.

🤮. Chinese lantern flys are f*cking everywhere. I mean, f*ck China. They drive like Asians too as they randomly dive-bomb onto us.

🐶. My Ridgeback was at neighbors’ house as we galavanted for two weeks. She is done moping and has been super clingy and lucky. Poor girl, musta been shook. Best breed.

🏋️‍♂️. Went to gym both yesterday and today after 2 weeks of debauchery. I am set back 2 months. So out of shape already. I reckon older people have to work harder to maintain previous gains.

🚙 Washed all three rigs, went to church, then pool. Full day to avoid impending tomorrow.

🕶️. Perfect weather, but with baseball being an embarrassment, I want football to be primo.

🐓. Chicken Marsala perfectly executed thighs, seared last night over jasmine rice.

🎂. I have a tough time reconciling the fact I’m turning 54 in 3.5 weeks. Trying to be in RFK Jr shape by 55.

Trying a new format. This post sucks, move along.

Giants are 65-59 but they suck. Ok then.

Cubs face 6/8 teams in Sept currently in position for playoffs. Not sure how that schedule is easy even though we have a few against the Rockies and Pirates.

With Stroman out again I sure hope we get to that last week in position to clip the brewers.

16 games against Colorado, Pittsburgh and Detroit and 10 against SF/AZ. 3 of those teams suck and the last 2 are not better than the Cubs. 12 with Milwaukee, Cincinnati & ATL which obviously are tougher. Should be a fun stretch.

Has nothing to do with a road trip. This is who they are....14-19 and .228 ba since the break. They haven't won 3 straight since 3rd week in July. As long as you get umpteen lineups from Bell, and he continues his sexual fantasy with Cruz, then this team has no shot. They screwed the pooch royally by not chucking a few of their platoon players and either Cruz or Enc-Strand for a top arm by the deadline. But let's pay Todd Van Poppel millions to pitch BP today.

Did this *** clown suggest trading Cruz for a rent-an-arm?

How can you in the same post mention the .229 avg since the break, and then suggest they needed to trade for a pitcher?

I don’t disagree about the pitcher, BUT to be fair after Verlander and Scherzer there wasn’t an arm too much better than Greene/Lodolo coming back healthy.

- So 22/38 against playoff caliber teams. Granted if we swept the cupcakes I’d say it’s favorable. We won’t, therefore it will come down to our series vs the Brewers and Reds.

Do some of you all really think the Reds are a pitcher away from being a favorite for the pennant? Let’s say you were able to get the best pitcher of all time having the best season of all time. If you got him at the trade deadline the analytics prove out he’d give you about 4 additional wins over a replacement player.

So maybe you’d win the division and be in the wild card game.

Oh, and by the way, that guy wasn’t available. The best available might have landed you one or two extra wins. That wasn’t going to make that big of a deal.

The Reds are doing the right thing. Their window is 2024, maybe. But definitely 2025-2027. And they are right on schedule.

I thought the same thing but just assumed that most were just excited about the train barreling down the tracks at one point. I’ve never thought the Cubs were in contention for anything but the horrible NLC and even that was a shot in the dark.

I think that’s true as how many said well it was a good run until football started now we don’t care anymore.

The thing is several teams have jumped the tracks when young and got hot at the right time.

I’ve said this before but your Braves did about 2 years ago when all these players they have now were 24/25 or so. Yea they had a vet in Freeman at 27, but the core was young up and coming.

The Royals did on their run, the Cubs, the Astros etc etc.

They did have a little more veteran presence than the reds, but the old saying applies here get in and get hot to the point the kids don’t know they don’t belong, yet! Or something like that.

The Braves won the division in 2019, and they were in the NLCS in 2020. The Royals were in the World Series in 2014 before winning it on 2015. I don’t think any of them sold the farm the first year.

I've never in my life seen a group of people temper their expectations while remaining excited for their preferred ball club like I've seen in GYERO for the Reds this year. As PTI said, they were supposed to be dismal with hopes for the future and here they are late into August still competing for a playoff spot.

Elly is a lot of fun to watch, has certainly helped the team and they are playing an absurd amount of Rookies all the while.

I swear UKO just fills his internal emptiness with perceived schadenfreude. It's no wonder he's ate up with politics.

* The missus and I watched Predator last night. It is easy to forget how great cheesy 80s action movies could be -- and how little they cared for political correctness. About 10 minutes into the movie, Jesse Ventura offers a plug of chaw to his fellow Green Berets and when they refuse, he drops the line "Bunch of slack-jawed f*****s around here. This stuff will make you a g-d sexual Tyrannosaurus, just like me." 🤣

My personal favorite is the Indian tracker named "Billy" who carries an M-16 with a shotgun comically strapped to it.

Bill Duke steals every scene in the entire movie, even dominating Carl Weathers at Carl's roided up prime. Pinnacle 80s awesome.

* I wonder how the BBN will remember Oscar Tshiebwe in 20 years. He might have the biggest difference between individual accolades and team wins of any player in UK history. Dude was a national player of the year who put up epic stats and yet his teams, frankly, sucked and had to scheme around his deficiencies. He's basically Anti Wayne Turner.

* Speaking of Predator, I did not know that Jean-Claude Van Damme was originally cast as the predator but he kept passing out in the suit so they eventually recast Kevin Peter Hall -- the dude who also played the sasquatch in Harry and The Hendersons.

Kevin Peter Hall later died of AIDS that he got from a blood transfusion. His real life wife played Gordon's sister on Sesame Street. The 80s were a trip, man.

* Has Ron recovered from *** to mouth disease yet?

Oh the Royals and Cubs were this before that………yea well both team were 16-18 games below .500 the year before. Hence they jumped the tracks which is why they catapulted to success and it all went away within 1 season or 2.

The Braves though, Wayne was correct were a steady and continued progression.

-When we visited the University of Alabama they proudly stated their out of state % was 58%. Saban really has changed the total dynamic of the school with out of state tuition.

-My oldest is has track/cross country official visits to Bellarmine, Lipscomb, EKU and Lee University this fall. Secretly I am hoping for EKU/Bellarmine due to being close to home and the costs. We are hoping to get a 1/4 athletic scholarship and some academic. But track has only 12.6 scholarships for the entire 40+ man team so there is not so much to go around. There is a huge fallacy about college athletic scholarships. For boys it essentially is only basketball and football. Everything else is partial. Golf is 4.5, Baseball is 11.7, Soccer is 9.9 so basically no full rides.

-It seems that High Point is now off his list thankfully. It is apparently a beautiful campus and he visited a year ago but it is very expensive and they do not let you stack academic/athletic scholarships.

-I think he wants UK to offer an official visit but from a distance standpoint EKU is the best in the state. UK seems to focus on sprinters and hurdlers so they do not put much toward distance. Also UK is so huge now. The current freshman class is larger than Bellarmine and Lipscomb's total enrollment.

-Week 0 College football this week. LFG.

-Zero rain for the next 2 weeks?

HPU is a very nice campus. Unfortunately its sandwiched between the 2 shitholes of NC, Greensboro & Winston-Salem.

Wake and Duke are in same boat. Beautiful campuses in complete garbage towns.

Getting started on college visits and planning. So far we’ve walked around Michigan and NYU. NYU got knocked off the list because “no football games”. Michigan was nice, but “too big to walk around in winter”. University of Chicago randomly keeps sending a lot of mail but loses on the whole “football game” condition.

So basically what I’m saying for all of these schools touting academic programs and bucolic and/or urban campuses, etc. they need to focus on having big football games on small campuses.

-I don't have access but CL Brown apparently doesn't think UK(or UL) is safe in conference realignment. Lol, we're a charter member in the top conference in the country. I think we're pretty safe, buddy. Sorry, UL is on a collision course with the Metro Conference.

-Chili crunch. That **** is so fire. Added to beef and broccoli last night. Shewdoggie.

-Love all the experience the young Redlegs are getting. Patience.

-Kooky with the old CMD style post. Miss CMD. 😢

-2.5 year old is turning into a real person. That's fun to watch. Until he throws a tantrum because we gave him the wrong color plate.

-Didn't booze Friday or Saturday... felt weird. Good to clear out the old system though. Nice, boring *** weekend. Big highlight was cleaning out the garage and a couple nice lil rides.

-BB King/Eric Clapton channel on Pandora slaps for family dinner night ambiance. Of course you can barely hear it over the 2 undomesticated wild banshees we have living in our house but those few breakthroughs are nice.

-Been working on my overnight oats game. Any swear by recipes out there?

-Soccer match Saturday was entertaining. Lol at Messi just casually walking around most of the match until he gets the ball and turns into a superhero. He has to be the most unassuming GOAT athlete of all time.

-Billy Walters book shipped yesterday, leggo.

Winston-Salem is garbage for sure. I didn't have the same opinion of Durham. Thought the whole Research Triangle was a pretty nice college town/area.

Was planning on checking out Cutter Boley and his waders Saturday, but got offered some good seats at GABP. Sounds like I missed one hell of a HS football game. Still, Elly made the drive up and back worth it. Caught a vid his little league HR on my phone. Place was erupting.

Reds borderline tanking but still in it. Plenty summer left to get this turned around. Might just take one more well-timed win streak.

IDK what to make of Stoops' confidence. Dude sounds dang near giddy in press conferences. Or, at least as giddy as a fall camp Mark Stoops can sound. Are we that good, or is he entering a fat-n-happy stage?

So Deone Walker had to be kicked out of the scrimmage just so the offense could get a play off? Good for D, bad for OL?

1000% agree on chili crunch. Goes on just about everything. I've made the mistake of liking it a little too much a couple times. Paid the price the next day.

Love oatmeal, hate overnight oats. The texture is off.

Hot take but if (when?) the time comes for a college football super league, I don’t think UK’s status as a charter member of the SEC gets us into it. I think the eventuality is an SEC/Big 10whatever merger/contraction with a few others (Notre Dame? Clemson?) thrown in if they haven’t joined already into a 30 team league with divisions, etc- basically like the NFL.

I don’t like it but I think that’s where the TV money is pushing it.

Speaking of Indians named "Billy" brought to mind Billy Bear from 48 Hours movie (1982 - Eddie Murphy's movie debut, IIRC), which I watched with my son last week before he left for his senior year of college.

Eddie was only 21 then, same age as our son 🤯.

Anyway, that movie is a lost classic that they seem to have buried and never air on cable. Lots of un-PC stuff in there. Great movie, the bar scene is still 🔥 One of the original crime thriller /comedy / buddy cop movie classics.

Underrated fun part of kids getting older is showing them some of the standout movies from my era. I have a list that we chip away at every time my son comes home. Rites of passage.

Also watched Dead Poets Society, which personally I didn't love when it came out, but is in fact pretty awesome.

Overnight oats when done correctly are delicious. However, they can go horribly wrong also. I’ve done both ways so I’m not the person to ask.

I don’t see Stoops as the type to be fat-n-happy, unlike the thief that roams the sidelines at Rupp. I get the sense the coaches have a certain confidence in this team and I’d wager he gets stiff just thinking about his defense. Any semblance of an offense and 👀 out.

Buddy of mine that lives in FLA has season tix and only makes it up for a game or two. Guess I better put in a call as it looks like tix are going to be hard to come by. Looking forward to getting back in town for a few games.

Not that it is much of a stretch but I really prefer going to the Kroge for a football game much more so than to Rupp these days. Even the EKU’s of the world are a better time.

The Triangle area as a whole is very nice. They have done a good job with infrastructure, hiding neighborhoods from highways etc. And Durham has had a revitalization in some of the downtown area. But the majority of Durham I would not want to break down thats for damn sure.

Made an Animal House reference at work and the 4 "kids" I was talking to had never seen it. SMH.

Dead Poets Society is an awful film. Funny guys, like Robin Williams, trying to act serious, and rockers playing only ballads, see Sting, grind my gears. When they fall in love with their own voice or think they are Brando it's time to check out on them.

Hovland 61 is one for the books. Low man gets $500k at the tour final this week.
