The wife is going to have to manage that KL because I am exactly that way with my dog. And by the point I realize a groom is necessary then its another 5-6 week wait on an appt. I started doing mobile because we are an hour from Raleigh and not alot of options.

Damn a wife and kids be expensive.....

One word of warning...get him groomed more often than you're planning to. Our goes from "she could use a grooming appointment" to "she's completely matted" seemingly overnight.
My blind, now-going-deaf, diabetic, 13-year old poodle mix goes from looking sharp to looking like a methed-out homeless transient in like week 6 after grooming. And of course no one in our house has booked ahead so he'll look like that for another 6 weeks. When AI takes my job I'm going to become a dog groomer I think.

-Two tequilas last night and I woke up with a headache. I've been pretty hangover free all summer, so jarring. Definitely a sign that it's time for the annual bourbon hiatus to conclude... FIL recently brought me a bottle of Eagle Rare 10 year which will be cracked soon. I'm ready.

-Taking the fam to the St. X game tonight. Football is back, folks. The boy absolutely worships.

-We have a toy poodle, Franny Pants, that is a total cuz. Smart, doesn't shed or smell, and has been really good with the kids. She's 11 and I'm starting to realize she's not going to be around forever. My first dog. Probably won't handle that well. But poodle is a great breed.

-Buddy is in Jerusalem and I asked him to say a prayer for my late Mother. He sent me a video of him inside the Church of the Sepulchre with his hand on the Table of the Anointment doing so and saying her name, from her son SAECATFAN. Really cool.

-Nice meeting Kooky yesterday, we bonded over the shenanigans of being raised around an Italian family most of the time. Lots of cooking talk. Plus, always great hanging with Ol' Rudd. He's a vibe.

-After like 8 days of boozing in a row(after a pretty loose 6 days earlier in July), by far the sloppiest I've been in a long while, I've been cleaned up for a nice little stretch. Going to try and keep it going through the weekend. Just get **** right before tailgate season.

-Try to get WS to take a girls trip all the time. Hussy just won't go anywhere. Dad nights are run like a damn military operation. Not that it's set up for long term success, at all, but those few occasions are scheduled to the second. Tomfoolery, be damned.

-Link your Dad's piece, century. That's really cool.

-Faith Hill has been absolute smoke for what, 25 years? She's aged nicely.

-Portal is wild. Just randomly picking up P5 RBs in Mid August. Lol.

-Had a poodle growing up. Good dog, but dumb as ****. Always matted. Lots of odd maladies. Get a mutt.

Global Gaming Expo that week at Venetian. Hell, even Wynn and the Palazzo are less than what they are asking.
I think JDrum might be right with U2 at The Sphere that week, but I'd love to attend that Expo. I sold a vehicle a few years ago to an exec for Aristocrat for him and his wife who have an unreal house in the Beaumont area. Whole basement was full of the coolest arcade games for the kids.

U2 has dates before/after then and pricing for rooms is not inflated, besides, it wouldn't affect Bellagio. Palazzo/Venetian is the "home" resort for this engagement. They have a show on Friday 10/13 and the room price is half of what the Tue/Wed pricing is. It's all convention generated, which I have been to half a dozen out there before for ConExpo (150K people) and the gouging is ridiculous. Go check rates for the CES show 1/9- 1/11 which is the largest convention LV has each year.

— any of you traveling loons ever been to Yellowstone? With children? Looking for a fall trip. I wanted to fly into vegas and drive into Utah but lost that battle. Looking like it would be a flight into Bozeman. After that I have no idea what we would do.

—river festival in town this weekend. I am in the dunking booth at 10a Saturday morning. My kids and their friends will enjoy that. Got my girls softball team fired up about it last night. Every (semi) off throw I let them know I’d be staying dry this weekend.

diamond rio is also having a free concert at the. Festival on Burkesville on the banks of the Cumberland river. I had no idea who they were when first announced but I did recognize a couple of their bigger songs. That’s some of yal old heads prime right there. There will likely be as many or more people just in the park Saturday night than reside in all of Cumberland county.

The new distillery in town (Southern Kentucky Distillary) puts a lot of money into the show and they set up and sell domestos. Word around town is they are getting added to the bourbon trail idk how true that is.

backpack cooler full of old Milwaukees best ice. 16oz 5.9%. Six pack for around $5. Profit. May sneak in some secret agents and hopefully find a vendor selling twisted taters.

— back on the travel ball topic. Our “travel” team is comprised of all girls from our county. Developing a pitcher is removing years off my life. Mainly because I have no idea what to even say the majority of the time. Advice to girl dads. Start working on that motion early. May even suggest taking yourself to a camp just to pick up some things.

My boy is completely the opposite. Working on some pitching basics with him has actually improved his overall throwing. Helping him extend and use lower body. This is as enjoyable of an experience as any. I could play catch with him all day working on pitching. I’m ready to throw in the towel working on softball pitching after five minutes.

* Been a minute rand-o's.

* I've been prepping for a big work meeting, putting in long hours. I'll be glad when it is finished next week. We are having our dinner at Morton's, so that is nice.

* Teak (a fantastic sushi/thai joint) just opened a location 2 minutes from my house. Excellent.

* Hurricane Hilary seems like a nice hurricane.

* Kids' fall sports kicks into overdrive this weekend for ol' Wildcat Willy. 13yo has a soccer tourney in Batavia, with 2 games on Saturday and at least 1 on Sunday. Don't know what to expect from her squad. She was the best player on the worst team in history last year and is now one of the worst players on what looks to be a solid unit.

The 11yo kicks off her school volleyball season with 4 games on Saturday and who knows how many on Sunday. She plays at 1, 3, 4 & 5:00 tomorrow. Ridic.

Her club soccer team kicks off their season next weekend. Fantastic. She also manages to work in some open gym for basketball and the occasional training event for her club soccer team.

* Smoked a chuck roast brisket-style last weekend. Turned out great. But it wasn't that much cheaper than brisket.

* I have perfected my Kung Fu Panda chicken wings. Smoked then air fried, special asian sauce, sesame seeds. Dare I say... Wodie as F. Hopefully making an appearance at an Extravaganza this year. Maybe wcc can carry my air fryer?

* Just booked my flight for a shoot in the Seattle area next month. Gonna swing by my nephew's place in Seaside , OR on the way back and camp out on the beach and do some surf fishing. Hell yes.

* I'm excited as hell for the upcoming season for Stoops & the boys. But, man... UGA, Bama, UT, @MSU, @SC, even Mizzou has me a little nervous.

* I will be in attendance at the Columbia, SC game. Hope to celebrate a victory and not get my *** kicked at the same time.

* My hatred for the Tennessee Vols grows every touching minute.

* Finally got around to watching the latest season of The Witcher. Not nearly as good as the first 2 so far, IMO. Not nearly as many boobs, either. Which is not a coincidence.

* Been on a KY Mule kick lately. Even got some copper mugs off of Amazon. Enjoyable summer drink, IMO.

* Just scored a Weller Full Proof. That will not be going into any mules. (but it will be going into this ***).

* Friday 5

When Doves Cry - Prince
Love Buzz - Nirvana
Margaritaville - Jimmy Buffett
Fool in the Rain - Led Zeppelin
So What'cha Want - Beastie Boys

* Happy Friday, GYERO. Get your everlovin' weekend on.

Louisville kid John Marshall Butler is in the quarterfinals of the US Amateur and is two wins away from making the Masters.
Unreal overcoming that slam dunk from the opponent on 16. Then getting up and down after hitting his drive in the water on 18. Kid is a fighter.

We have an air fryer at the house and I would suggest drinking the Weller rather than by enema. Steve-O was a disaster after the vodka enema, can't imagine 130+ proof bourbon.

Enjoy it while you can because soon he’ll be throwing 85MPH from a funky arm slot with the ball moving all over the place and you’ll want no part of trying to catch it even if it’s just “light tossing”.

The day is coming when I get a ball thrown through my skull.

Keeneland track kitchen brekky… I mean, I have been off diet a full two weeks - May as well mail it in another day. 4 folks chowed for $25. 🙏🏻 I totally worship.

Dropped kid off at UK (frat). Set up his bed and computer, put away clothes, His room, predictably, sucks. Tiny and ****** and a huge step down from Haggin Hall. Shades of Kirwan Tower 1914… that was monastic. Wife cried. I looked at my watch.

Little man broke his monitor which caused a slight war on our way out. - Amazon to the rescue.

Dropped by the Baseball Stadium parking lot to look down at the live UK football practice. Heard Piglet screaming…stoked.

CampChef WoodWind Pro just usurped my beloved and unpurchased Yoder YS64Os😃 as the apple of my eye. One day, when the Egg croaks -this will be on the shortlist. This thing lays the smoke out (supposedly) as well as a Texas offset smoker. Hmmmm. Pellet grills typically suck.

I-64 is reduced to 1 lane for 15 miles, because????

Is this the one?

10 more hours in this car🙃

This may be blasphemy but I prefer to bbq a chuck roast more than brisket. A roast is much more forgiving and can be done in reasonable quantities. Unless you're feeding 10+ people, a brisket is usually a waste and the leftovers aren't that great, imo.

* If ThroughBlue avoids politics, he's a good addition to GYERO, imo. Good to see some new blood around here that doesn't suck.

* El Prez v. J. Kenji Lopez Alt -- who you got?

The Butler kid as been on a few of our local group golf trips, he's unreal. Shot 67 on our trek up to French Lick (Dye) from the special Tour Tees (8100 yds), which is absurd.

-making food for wife's b-day with my inlaws tonight...mushroom chicken piccata, by request. She's easy.

-one of our college buds (rogues laywer) set up a party at corta lima tomorrow evening for her...completely unprompted. Having "confirmed bachelor" buds to help sort that stuff out is brilliant.

-8am tennis on the docket tomorrow. *Love* starting a weekend day like that...if I'm in bed past 8am I feel gross. I shouldn't (sleep when you're tired atkot)...but I'm a 50 year old man in America, it's a common pathos.

-fighting dropping some coin on yet more guitar reverb/delay pedals...don't need them, but there are *so* many new and unique toys in that vien.

-nice and cool this morning. Football is nigh, gang.

-go cats.

I think brisket leftovers are money, but you can't just eat them like normal sliced brisket. Some options:
  1. Heat up in the oven and serve on a breakfast taco
  2. Chop them up and put in a BBQ sauce and serve as a chopped sandwich (this is the move that BBQ restaurants typically do)

Not that you care....but here ya go...

~Carson's...major reno for their new location. Hopefully they have a bourbon rewards program given it will be a 10 min. walk from the house.

~East Lake next weekend...my holy grail of courses, thank you Bobby Jones.

~Room in hand for the CBS Sports Classic...Embassy Suites beside Olympic Park is solid if you are looking around, and only a couple of blocks from State Farm Arena.

~Vegas for my 60th set a new bar for my own personal chart. Cut, Mayfair, Lakeside...all 10/10. Roulette paid well all weekend. Video poker was hot on the last day. Nelly cruising thru Palazzo w/ very large b-guards. Sphere up close is jaw dropping, and actually hurts the eyes. Can't wait until Hard Rock gets their giant guitar up. LV Speedway Tour was cool....didn't do the driving experience, but 115mph in a van on the banks was enough to get the heart jumping.

~Double or nothing, Rich? "7"

What all exactly are they doing there? I assumed they'd be using the clubhouse w/ renos, but they've torn up tons of land all around it making me wonder if that's the plan?

Place is gonna be the spot, regardless. Also, the new (original) Cocktails Reno is sweet. They took over the liquor store next door, and more than doubled their size, adding garage doors all around, a stage, & tons more TVS. Kind of a 2 separate atmosphere situation now, big fan.

Yeah. Shot 84/75 from the Blue (74.1/138/6700) several years back when i was playing a good bit, and not sure I could best the 75 with 20 more tries. Place is undoubtedly the toughest course I've ever played.

-Michael Block w/ a smooth 63 yesterday at Valhalla, tying the course record (not really, given that was shot in an actual Major w/ much tougher conditions). Pretty damn Impressive, nonetheless.

Friend on fb, who is prob 10-15lbs heavy, recently got engaged and is now posting pics of her daily workouts (sometimes 2) and meal planning.

Should I tag the fiancé and say, “I’ll give her 3 mos after the wedding before she gains it all back + another 10” or do you think he already knows?

Look pal. I'm probably Mags harshest critic when it comes to GYERO. But you gotta do better with your criticisms. KSR days are numbered bc he has maybe the largest sportstalk platform in the country to promote himself?? Uh, no.

Gracias to my favorite critic in the GYERO world. You are the best (and funniest) at it. Guilty on the humblebrag…I don’t mean to but nearly every time you call me on it I get it. I don’t do fake texts except occasionally (couple times a month) when I want to do a topic and the person that wrote it did it too inefficiently. I am not going to be Joe Exotic and I am not going to be even close to the focus of the show. But they are going to make me out to be the heel and I do have a very public seizure that the world in theory could watch if they want to. Those two things are a little nerve wracking

ESPN wouldn’t want me full time and honestly it wouldn’t make financial sense to leave. I don’t do what they do and honestly don’t know all that much about sports on that level. I do like what I do for them now though. It’s fun, especially with Myron

One more thing…the Football vibes are insanely good right now. These coaches are talking privately like Leary and Davis were the steals of the century. We shall see
