Honestly- solo parenting IN SMALL DOSES NOT AS A LIFESTYLE isn’t too bad. We pretty much leave each other to their own devices and eat pizza and wings. Tell ourselves we’ll “clean up” before Mom gets home and it’s a wink and a nod of understanding anything (within reason) goes.

Any of you dog dads have a Bernedoodle? Looks like I will be getting one this weekend. We have a 12 yr old collie/shepherd so getting another to help bridge when the inevitable happens.

I had a lab picked out. The other half wanted a doodle mix so we decided on the Bernedoodle.

- NashVEGAS tomorrow. We could be going to Calvert City and I’d be just as excited. I should be in the bag by 3-4 pm. Wish me luck.

- I’m sure he’s a nice guy in person but I can’t handle Jack Pilgrim on podcasts. I find him very off putting.

- Not unlike Jaimanthony, I also live close to a major D1 university. Warmed my heart seeing all these NKU students getting ready for the fall semester. What a time to be alive for the young.

- I’ve had several friends and family members chase the small school “playing college ball” dream - baseball, hoops and football. I’m all for love of the game, but have never understood it.

- Like most rants on here about how things are done today, I’m sure our views toward modern youth athletics age us. We’re not wrong though. Fall ball WTF. If your name isn’t Julio or you’re not a 27th round draft pick, you don’t need to be playing fall baseball. Turn the page. Baseball szn is over.

- From. what I understand about girls trips, often the destination city is not prepared for the oncoming presence of the girls involved. This is usually stated loudly and enthusiastically by the women on the trip. Although it makes little sense to those on the outside, even popular party destinations such as Las Vegas and Miami apparently aren’t ready to handle the vigor of these groups of females - even though this would be a surprising claim to anyone who knows them at all. Again, I am just going by what I have heard as I have never attended a “girls trip” but apparently they also boast about drinking rose’ wine all day. They even like to dress similarly in matching t-shirts with dumb F’ing **** written on them. I’ve been told these trips usually weirdly revolve around brunch - even to the point where many of the attendees become so intoxicated they don’t make it past brunch. Peculiar, I know. These “girl” trips have also been known to ruin friendships with the main culprit being accusations of a attendee being “drama” - and yes, I know drama’s not supposed to be used as an adjective.

Usually when a Duke/UL play each other I don’t care much and just happy one will lose, and cheer for it to be in embarrassing fashion.

Tonight though, it’s Dodgers/Brewers and I hate the Dodgers but I sure hope they crush the brewers so bad they lose all confidence and get swept in the next series too!

Wait? What? You could at least hit up the Drive-In. The burgers are good and “Dazed and Confused” is playing. Win/Win

I meant that comment in offense to neither Nashville nor CC. Point was as married dudes, we’re going to more or less doing the same thing wherever we are - drinking, laughing, telling stories. Haven’t seen these fellas in years.

I just found it odd that was the city you picked. Rather obscure reference

It just so happens I have a girls trip in NashVEGAS this weekend. And by girls trip, I mean a work conference Monday/Tuesday with a Sunday arrival.

Let me tell you, that city is not ready for the level of silent hotel room I’m about to rain down.

Good thing it’s a work trip, because Nashville couldn’t handle you, Sloot and Carla!!!!

I have no idea. Haven’t been in years. I just assumed the new owners were smart enough to learn the tricks of the trade from your relatives.

Well as I understand it the old food vendors went out of business while the place was shut down.

That’s why I asked because I’m curious. We meant to head down and check the place out but didn’t make it.

Several friends have Bernadoodles and I know a breeder. Great dogs. No shedding, friendly, love attention.
The shedding is huge for us, my collie/shepherd drops a pound a day so that’s the main reason going with doodle.

Got home tonight and kids had picked out a name already. Duke. Nope. Told the wife I love em but that ain’t happening.

Know who also sheds a lot? Three GD bloodhounds.

I haven't listened to his podcast but he wrote a very respectful and well-researched tribute to my dad last month on KSR, and was very kind and gracious upon my follow-up, so he is A-OK in my book.

I’ll have to look that one up, buddy.

Sounds like 99.9% of the people on here. Everyone I have met and had a cold one or played golf with are good hearts....their words on the web come across different (there are exceptions)

Global Gaming Expo that week at Venetian. Hell, even Wynn and the Palazzo are less than what they are asking.

Girls trip update: they are meeting up with one of our good college buddies I didnt realize lived in DC, however, he’s gay. Not just any gay mind you, but very fit and good looking, with wild energy and says “YAAASSS” a lot. ITS ON FOR BRUNCH GIRLS!!!

Dad weekend update: It appears, after careful consideration, my children preferred the nesquick strawberry syrup over hersheys in the strawberry milk taste test and the raos frozen pizza tasted better than the Costco but ironically didn’t have enough sauce. Also we had our inaugural family sports night and dodgeball may have been a bad choice on my part. Their heads are practically impossible to miss.

That's what we've got. I thought I would only *tolerate* the dog, and that she was primarily just for our daughters. But I absolutely adore this dog. As loving/loyal as it gets, and while you might find the occasional small clump of hair, nothing like the shedding that most breeds do. One word of warning...get him groomed more often than you're planning to. Our goes from "she could use a grooming appointment" to "she's completely matted" seemingly overnight.

But a Bernedoodle is a great choice, IMO. Love ours.
