-So malls are still a thing. People everywhere on a Tuesday morning/afternoon half of them just sitting in chairs playing in their phones.

Like you drove through traffic to go to the mall and just sit in a chair? You had nothing else you’d rather do?

-Also just onry right now. Somehow my IDs and 3 cards fell out in the parking lot I’m guessing. Didn’t realize til I drove back across the bay, so turned around and drove back to the mall 30 mins away only to not find my IDs and cards.

Flying at 6a on Thursday will be fun.

Almost should just leave stuff if you find it because if it was still sitting where I parked, I’d have it. When you turn it into the mall, it could be at any store.

Security didn’t have it either. F***********k me.

ESPN getting in the gambling game taking over all of the Penn Barstool Sportsbooks.

And Portnoy apparently making out like a bandit by getting Barstool Sports back for nothing.

He had previously sold 50% of Barstool to Penn Gaming (my buddy moved to Philly as VP of compliance before this went down) and he just bought it all back. Not given it back for nothing.

Penn is now in bed (gambling wise) with ESPN instead of Barstool.

Just seemed like Barstool was a natural fit for expanding gambling, but maybe not.

Back to School Obs:

- Trying not to whine like other school teachers (I'M BUILT DIFFERENT!!!) but this may be the least energy/positivity/hype I can ever remember from a faculty and staff for the lead-up. And this will be year 25 for me.

* Our building is undergoing a reno, My room was apparently Ground Zero for demolition. Dust and debris everywhere. Generally speaking, demolition folks are horrible people with little concern for their fellow man. You can read this thread and pick up on that.
* Our central office has had some big retirements and job changing going on at the last minute. That crew felt like they were scrambling on Opening Day.
* The population here has absolutely exploded and we are now the most diverse district in the state.
* That's all fine, but it seems like this school district's resources are stretched to the max. Like this has all crept up on everyone and now we're like . . . YIKES! Here we go! HELLLPPPP!!!!!!
* ^^^Is probably happening all over the US in public schools.
* But I'm ready. LIke I said, BUILT DIFFERENT!

- Give me Michael Hutchence from INXS as the most underrated voice of new wave pop. Too bad auto-erotic asphyxiation took him outta here.

Allegedly.

- Target has the Cadillac of shopping carts. No other box chain department store comes close. Comfort. Consistency. Smooth. Luxurious.

- What’s the deal with weather apps and websites these days? Between the pop up ads and unreliable info, it feels like I’m in some sort of portal that would give my device a virus or put me on some kind of FBI watchlist. Get it together, Cantore!

- For some reason, it has become increasingly difficult for me to type the word, “on.” Pm, in, kn, jb. All of these are produced more than “on.” Drives me crazy.

- After watching Quarterback on Netflix, here are my takes:

1. Mahomes is a little douchey. Also, no telling how many pain killers were injected into that ankle last year.

2. Brittany Mahomes is the definition of insufferable.

3. Kirk Cousins is weird. Good dude, but ranks at a 0 in the “It Factor” category.

4. Mariota seems incredibly soft/fragile/feminine. He also seems like a genuinely good dude, but there’s just a reverence quality missing.

5. It’s as watered down of a production as you would imagine a Peyton Manning/NFL product would be.

Stu Jamison Fairchild with an inside the park home run to take the lead.

*There is a link to the MLB rulebook on the web. You may want to read it.....or just continue to blabber about things you truly have no clue about. Or send me a message about what you want to talk about, and I will write it for you.

*triple w/ an error.

People always talk about the big boys of '80's music being U2, MJ, Madonna, Prince, Springsteen, Van Halen, etc but if you were around in 1988 when "Kick" came out, INXS for that year may have been the biggest band in the world.
U2 was the biggest band in the world in 1988 IMO. The Kick album was huge for INXS and their concert at Louisville Gardens that year was a big event for local high schoolers like me. On the other hand, they were a bit too "lightweight" compared to U2 and REM, for example.

- Put down the hype pipe on INXS. Now, REM - that was a great band.

- You could argue that pound-for-pound, Strokin is one of the Top 5 posters in GYERO.

- Caught the first 45 minutes of the Johnny Football doc and it was outstanding. For as much of a F-up as he was, his teammates always seemed to like the guy. That usually says something- although teammates tend to like Kyrie Irving too.

- I don’t much like him but Mahomes seems like an all right guy. His family sucks, though.

- Seems nationally, no one knows quite what to make of Calipari’s Wildcat squad this year. I’m with them.

- Wednesday has to be the most productive day of the work week for GirlDad.

- I never feel very good about myself watching fighting and mayhem like that Montgomery brawl. Those people who immediately get their phones out and start hootin and hollerin aren’t as bad as the brawler, but they’re awful too.

The water - mostly rivers and lakes - tends to draw a suspect group of people…generally speaking.

The impulse to film mayhem is repugnant, too. If things pop off and you decide to pull out a cellphone to film rather than either scram or intervene ----> f*** you.

* In Rogan's pod with Patrick Bet-David, Rogan insinuated that he might be having Trump on as a guest (after Rogan has previously said multiple times he would never do so). Kim Kardashian may think showing her **** broke the internet but I've got news for her, Trump on the Joe Rogan Experience would be the most must-see of all time.

* People may forget that Devin Leary broke some of Philip Rivers' records at NC State.

'Kick' is a top 10 80's rock album, no doubt. That sound just fits the era to a T. One of the last of that era before the grunge scene exploded.

And Hutchence had an 80's murders row of split tail. Here he is waiving to fans before heading off to a threesome with Elle Macpherson and Klylie Minogue:

Add in Belinda Carlise, Helena Christensen and a slew of other exotic minxes from that decade and he's on the Mt. Rushmore of groupie killers.

* REM is wrist-slittingly awful. Worse than your most morbid rock bands. Stipe's voice is that of a whiny queef.

Dennis Leary said it best - "Shiny Happy People? Pull that bus over to the side of the pretentiousness turnpike, pal!! I want the shiny people over here, and the happy people over here! I represent the angry, meat eating gun toting people!"

Once again... chad starting these conversations.

Chads ilk's obsession with guys like Rogan and Portnoy is hilarious. Before every click bait article I can already guess how many times I'll read, "mansplain, conspiracy theory, toxic masculinity, bro-, alpha" or whatever the latest Hollywood tag line is making the rounds. Mention either of their names and he's on here instantly to let you know how against them he is... a transcendent virtuous. Just ask or read his yard sign.
