He's the most overrated and overhyped player in decades..."at this stage". That all could change, but time will tell.

So far, my analysis, predictions, and overall expert baseball mind has been spot on. Predicted the slump(s), predicted the one good game a week, and have pretty much put you and others who are gobbling up his Louisville Slugger in their place, which isn't too difficult on here.

As Roy Hobbs asked Max Mercy....you ever play the game, Max?

I admire your fanship....he's exciting when he plays well, but mostly he looks like someone who just came off the bench for the Lexington Counterclocks.

Lol I was definitely not there by any means!

That same couple lives in Norton Commons and had their SUV stolen out of their driveway last night. I reckon it’s god telling them to not go to silent disco parties any more.

You predicted the Reds would be 15 games under .500 and they’re leading the division.

You said Spencer Steer wasn’t a ROY candidate despite being top 5 in every single statistical category.

You said the Reds were in trouble if they were counting on Matt McClain to contribute, and he’s hitting .310/.370 with power and plus defense.

You’ve consistently called Graham Ashcraft a bum, and despite a very rocky middle part of the season he’s put together 6 very strong starts in a row.

You’ve literally stalked official Reds Twitter accounts and harassed them about Elly countless times this season, continually insisting he sucks *** whether he plays well or not — presumably because you can’t stand others having fun this season.

But please. Share more of your wisdom. You played a little high school ball at Lafayette 45 years ago, so I’m sure you know the game better than most.

They're going to end up 74-88 so you may want to go ahead and cool the jets.

They haven't turned any corner. They will not remain consistent w/ this bunch of rec league players, daily batting order changes, and a platoon system that only Bell believes in. Throw in the "possibility" that your 2 best players are wasting away in the minors, and it is the usual recipe that is followed every single year.

75-87 is still their ceiling, and that is with excellent pitching.

India is having a "good" year so far, but he isn't going anywhere. If McClain is their SS of the future then that's a huge fubar.

Steer is NOT in ROY conversation at this time.
.

Pack your lunch...no one on here follows the Reds more than I have over the years. Sorry to bust your hype bubble with a dose of reality. If you were a Reds fan, then you would know this story has been played out many times before and it takes more than a few games to get things turned around. You would also know that Bell is awful.

If you can't accept the truth, then move on.

This is why I am right. No one is untouchable in professional sports. Players like India, Steer and Benson are a dime a dozen...nothing special about either...just solid players, nothing more.

EDC and CES...you chuck one for an ace or a 2. PePeriod.
Words of wisdom from the biggest Reds fan ever and greatest baseball mind of all time.

I thought the dork went to Bryan Station?
He did. If he'd have gone to Lafayette, I'd have been in school with him, and I'd have had to kill him. (kidding of course, he'd have no doubt kicked my *** in a fight, but sometimes, despite the odds, you have to try.) LOL

Before there was Todd Van Popple, there was David Clyde. His hype (I realize you all are too young to remember him) was ABSURD. If you like baseball oddities stories, look it up. Pretty sad stuff.

*I had only listened to the Childers song so I dont know the context of the video (aside from people either disliked it or loved it)- but thought the song was ok. It's not one of his best, but the first single is typically the attention-getter rather than the best on the album- so we'll see.

*Anyone hit King George in Nashville? Concert review?

*Not much more of a helpless situation than having a sick baby. We are on about day 4 and a couple different prescriptions. Hate seeing them feel obviously bad and not be able to do anything.

*My niece is an equestrian rider- so my sister sent us the link to watch her show online... she's been doing it for years, all she ever talks about... so I tune in, and for the life of me I have zero idea what was going on or what the objective was. She finished 2nd- but gun to my head I couldnt point out a single difference between her and anyone else. It was the most boring thing i've ever seen, and then I had to call and congratulate her for who knows what.

*I'm a cash tipper, and prefer to leave money *after* dining... so those places with the ipad payment mandating 20% arent really a thing for me. I dont know how you can gauge how much to tip, without having any your food or any of the services being completed. Has never really been an issue but did get a gal look at me and say "$0, hmm" when I finished paying for my salad and turkey wrap last week. I didnt have a response, but I have been workshopping some lines for the next time.

I see you rolled your way into the semis. Dios mio, man. Liam and me, we're gonna F you up.

Yeah, well, you know, that's just like, uh, your opinion, man.

Let me tell *you* something, pendejo. You pull any of your crazy **** with us, you flash a piece out on the lanes, I'll take it away from you, and stick it up your *** and pull the ******* trigger 'til it goes "click."

Jesus.

You said it, man. Nobody Fs with the Jesus.

* Favorite random baseball player....

link: Steve Dalkowski

- raging alcoholic
- hardest throwing pitcher of all time?
- basis for bull durham's nook laloosh
- 1960 = 170 innings, 5.14 era, 262 ks, 262 walks

* I haven't had this much fun watching baseball in decades. Certainly since the '99 season, and probably since the 1990 season. My old lady has gotten comfortable with the concept of going to bed early while I stay up drinking beer and shouting at the television.

The roster is stacked. The payroll is under control. The farm system is talented. The best is yet to come.

Sorry for having fun.

* Made the 1-hour drive over Independence Pass last night to go see Morgan Wade at Belly Up in Aspen.

- used to open for Luke Combs, Jason Isbell, etc
- paid an extra $50 for a pre-show meet-and-greet, which was really cool. short acoustic session, a little q&a, photos.
- venue probably held 2-300 people, max.
- tvs in the place were showing promos for their past shows, including.........Here Come The Mummies 🤣
- she got sober 6-7 years ago, got super into working out, and is now signed up to run her first 100-miler. that's cool.

* Anyone want to come up and hike the Maroon Bell 4 Pass Loop in August? Holla atcha boy.

* You know who's turning out to be a very fine pitcher? Brandon Williamson, who also sucks and is terrible -- but looks like he can be a really nice 4-5th starter.

* Back in the day at O'Charley's there was a regular who lived down the street in the dumpy apartments on Malabu Drive. About 5-foot-7, 250 pounds. Had a garbage job. Ugly dude. No real friends or love life. Nice enough guy but used to be a "huge UK fan," then abandoned ship and decided to start rooting for Duke. I think he had a kinesiology degree (and maybe even a Masters) from UK, and was literally pissed off that his former classmate Sean Sutton ended up with a big college coaching gig, while he made $9/hour at the phone company. He swore he knew more about basketball than Sutton did, and it wasn't even close.

So the dude walked around pissed off at the world and just loved playing the part of the grouchy *** old man who openly rooted AGAINST the Cats -- his supposed former favorite team.

Just reminds me so much of UKO. For whatever reason he's just pissed off at the world and revealed that anger thru sports contrarianism.

* Tyler Childers is just so incredibly freaking talented. So clever and smart and such an awesome songwriter. Weird stuff happens when you sign with a major label, though. So whatever direction his career takes, I just hope he's in command and not some suit in Manhattan.

* Next live show for me --> Turnpike Troubadours at Billy Bob's.

* Dry cleaners. Gas station. Subway. Retail stores.

I swear, most places just add the tipping option because it's a numbers game. SOMEONE is gonna be dumb enough to accidentally throw 20% on there. Not gonna be me, though.

-Fun Fact: If you went 2-5 with a homer and single every day, you would finish your season with 162 HR, 810 TB, 324 hits, and still end up with a lower OPS than Barry Bonds had in 2004.

-Tipping jobs that get normal hourly pay is silly, I mean do it if you want and they go above and beyond I will, but in general they’re making double digits dollar/hr already.

Moving guys and AAA guys I’ll tip.

-Sending out three letters today to GMA and family friends that we’re very close with. Just like to do that for no reason some times.

-trying this new concept of eating when I’m hungry only. Was down to #213 1.5 weeks ago with abs showing and today I was #223z 🤦‍♂️, gotta do better.

"262 ks, 262 walks"

LOL

I'd bet a fair amount of money, that not more than 1 out of 10 people in GYERO could break 60 on the gun. I'd be surprised if more than a couple could even hit 50
Only people that pitched past little league probably. Everyone else is just going to "arm" it, and it's damn harder to hit 50 on just your arm than you think.

Got a little too close to a FAFO situation Sat night. Going to see Oppenheimer (awesome, btw) and we had just got into a heavy downpour and everyone but one ******* is slowing way down. Bad enough some threw on the hazards.

Here comes some camry right at the merge to the highway and cuts my wife off, loses control trying to slow down too late, clips another car and spins them into a 360 that comes around and further knocks the camry towards the grass.

I'm looking back as the camry is now careening down the bank of the hill towards the tree and see the tailpipe from how much air they had and then my wife screams we're about to die or something.

Look at her and she's bracing for the impact of the truck behind us while the car that spun 360 is about to hit us.

Truck stops, 360 car spins past us, **** our pants and went on to have a nice evening.

My ride or die ***** is pretty solid.

-Green peppers suck unless there stuffed, they add no taste just crunch. That wrap was good though.

-Always cracks me up to come home and see what dad has found to “watch”, really he’s just sleeping or staring blankly at the tv. Yesterday it was Love Island this afternoon it was Vanderpump, he couldn’t understand anything less than these shows so it’s pretty funny.

About to turn 42 and I could still hit low 70s on the gun. Nasty curve, sinker, change are all still in the bag, too.

Brewers are a team I didn't know I hated until very recently.

6 y/o is completely obsessed with fishing. Spent hours slaying bluegill Saturday, asks to go every day, wants to watch fishing shows on TV, the works. Very glad to be well past the Blippi stage.

Undercooked green peppers are terrible. Completely ruin any dish. Need to be fajita style (cooked down, soft, charred) to be edible.

Planning on attending the UT game. Potentially 6-1, top 15ish matchup, coming off a bye week, Halloween weekend. Should be hype. Last one was nearly an all-timer. Still pissed about the uncalled facemask.

Really need to hear some high praise for Courtland Ford and JQ Hardaway this week.

I don't know if it's a controversial take or not, but Ice Cube's catalog puts Snoop to shame. O'Shea is/or was, quite substantially better.

Oh yeah, this is an awful take, unless you're talking about corny movies. Doggystyle might be the best rap album of all time, not to mention all the features, Tha Doggfather. Ice Cube doesn't compare.

LOL Doggystyle is definitely NOT the best rap album of all-time. And I stand by it: Ice Cube's stuff is world's better than Snoop. "Ice Cube doesn't compare..." absolutely absurd.
Snoop just sounds like Slick Rick on valium. Lethal Injection alone is better than Doggystyle.

It's definitely in the discussion. I prefer Illmatic by Nas, but Doggystyle is definitely the best out of the 'West Coast' rap era.

Speaking of fast food, Barleycorns is a shell of it's former self. Haven't been in at least a year. Not sure what has happened to them.
