Vern getting his wish, Cubs telling teams Bellinger will not be traded.

That means they have to be planning offering g him a deal to keep him then.

I don’t have a clue what the Cubs could add that they need to make a run but beating up on bottom dwellers seems to have us in a decent spot.
Or I was just right.

I should probably know this, but I don't.
Just to break up the Sunday pissing contests, and me patting myself on the back for being such a great guy and humanitarian; who is the clear cut best golfer in GYERO?

I know a lot of you have played together, so there should be a general consensus.

I don't mean long drive champion, that's already been established.

Just hanging out today waiting for you Reds fans to congratulate us Braves fans on our sweep of the Brewers. No big deal, just keeping your mediocre team’s playoff hopes alive.

Fair enough, but my premise is we still should. A 3 series set of beating terrible ball clubs does not give me real hope.

Not to mention right after the deadline we face 10/13 games against playoff caliber teams.

Missing the chance to cash in on players value is stupid. He’ll look what the Mets got for a 39 YO pitcher, possibly the best prospect in baseball.

We aren’t making the playoffs buddy, and that’s why my strategy would be different and why I think we should trade off assets.

Goodness, this run the Cubs are on vs the reds run makes my point. We are beating trash teams while the reds beat the giants, diamondbacks, went 1-2 with the brewers and then bounced back to overall smack the dodgers in the mouth!

Talk to me next week after a 7 game stretch we are about to face.

- That said, if we are going to resign Bellinger(and we should) then I’d agree with keeping him.

Everyone’s talking about Snell, which would be fantastic, obviously. But I see Krall going for Lorenzen - would be a much smaller haul, and he’s pitching well right now. Wouldn’t mind seeing Mikey Biceps come back and exorcise some demons, frankly.

Are sports reporters being obsessed with ratings a recent phenomenon? I guess I understand some aspect of it in the abstract but caring about the ratings on games/shows/etc makes very little sense to me.

They are obsessed if it proves a point or pushes a narrative. Women’s soccer had best ratings since NBA finals, so basically bigger than all star game and early morning golf major. Tremendous ratings by any standard but it makes them tingle in their man places that they have something they can hang their hat on for a good while, equality and what not.

Bellinger is a former MVP who has rediscovered that form with us. He's in the prime of his career. We're in need of that type of player. We took a chance on him and it's paying off. Now, we have the inside track to resign him if we go that route, because he loves playing for the Cubs.

I like the message it sends to the clubhouse. When Hoyer traded away all of our stars a few years back, it was preceded by a similar stretch that the Cubs are going through now. Hoyer let the play on the field decide what he was going to do. That team responded by going on a horrible losing streak. Hoyer cleaned house and replenished our farm system. This team responded by ripping off 9 of 10. Hoyer keeps them together. I personally think he's doing a great job running the Cubs and I trust his decisions.

I agree for the most part, and 100% on Bellinger. I wish we could lock him up on a 4-5 year deal.

I just think we are a year or 2 away from real contention, but I’d love Bellinger to lead the way seeing his experience from success at such a young age and then to struggle and bounce back from that.

These next 2 series will tell me everything I need to know about this group. 4 against the Reds, and 3 against the Braves.

Had a friend and her husband go to a “silent disco” in Louisville last night, wtf is that? You don’t talk or anything you just dance around for an hour? I’ve heard of them but actually seeing it was something else, honestly looked very awkward.

I mean if you want to put headphones on and not talk to anyone for an hour just do like I do and go to the grocery or the gym.

I’m sticking to my guns: Elly De La Cruz is a damn fine baseball player.

He's the most overrated and overhyped player in decades..."at this stage". That all could change, but time will tell.

So far, my analysis, predictions, and overall expert baseball mind has been spot on. Predicted the slump(s), predicted the one good game a week, and have pretty much put you and others who are gobbling up his Louisville Slugger in their place, which isn't too difficult on here.

As Roy Hobbs asked Max Mercy....you ever play the game, Max?

I admire your fanship....he's exciting when he plays well, but mostly he looks like someone who just came off the bench for the Lexington Counterclocks.

Social media, idk if I get the question. Was my grammar wrong? If so, my apologies, if you saw the picture Wynn posted of me you’d know all the blood is in my penis.
I was confused. It sounded like you were at the club with them. Didn’t know folks did FB photos of a silent dance club. Sounds terrible.
