She and Fast Car were nominated for and won multiple Grammys in the 80’s (which is definitely a less accepting time than current)

People are dumb.
Even Freddie Mercury was afraid to openly come out at the time Chapman was nominated for Fast Car.

I'm nearly 100% certain Chapman kept that **** as ambiguous as possible in order to avoid the "cancel culture" that existed during that time.

I would argue the late 80’s and 90’s were peak times of racial fairness, and much more accepting than the current period where everything has become examined through the lens of race.

To be honest, I don’t believe I’ve ever heard a Jelly Roll song.

But I already know I’d hate it.
I bet if you heard it and didn’t know it was jelly roll, you would actually like it. I don’t know you or your music but just have a feeling it would be similar for a lot of people.

Give me one reason > fast car

Both are great songs imo. I thought combs did a good job covering it and I downloaded it on Apple Music which made it my first luke combs download. I’m not a big country music fan but I can appreciate good singing and he sang that song as good as a cis white male could.

Don't know where I saw this posted yesterday but it's funny and I miss In Living Color. Kim Waynes as TC

On that ILC note, it was the only show that me, my brothers and dad all watched together. My dad loved it so much that he was willing to put up with his 3 kids beating the snot out of each other with socks screaming "Homey don't play that" and whatever inappropriateness we picked up on and repeated out in public.

Well, if he wasn't "trying to write an anthem to last for eternity," then good news......MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!

Because he didn't write the song at all.

I think you meant your above diatribe while opining about Kurt Allison, Tully Kennedy, Kelley Lovelace, and Neil Thrasher.

No...you get the point but are just being....you.

Strait didn't write Run or The Chair but who effin cares. You go off when he sings it in concert?

See how that works.

Love the song but isn’t it weird to have a wedding song about attempting to break an addiction? Kind of like people using “I’ll be watching you?”

I’ve been to see George Strait and no one “goes off” during any of his songs. It’s sit there and watch him slowly play hits on a stool.

He doesn't sit on a stool, for one. And two, the crowds are into it.

*will be at Nissan Stadium on the 29th watching him "slowly play".

I’m in Seattle. Going to the Mariners game tonight. People are living all the throwback unis out here. You know what else they seem to love? Burly looking dudes dressing like pre-teen girls. Ugh.
-Bummer you don’t get to standout there like you’re used to…

I’ve been to Seattle twice and I never saw anything out of the norm but that was before Covid and this society collectively losing their minds over the last 4 years.

-For the life of me I don’t understand why every time a gal is in a bathroom they need to post a pic. It’s basically saying hey this is what I look like after relieving my bladder and/or bowels.

A friend just posted one from the cardinals baseball game so it’s not like it was even a nice bathroom…

Also ladies, taking a pic from above isn’t fooling us anymore, that’s basically saying I have a nice face and breasts but I’m thickkkkkk down low(not in a good way).

Finally, selfies. Why are we still doing this? Just a pic two feet from your face? Every day? We know what you look like, show me something fun or cool you’re doing, thanks.

When Whitney Houston had the year's best selling song with "I Will Always Love You" , and was #1 on the pop and R&B charts, I know the question I had is when were big breasted blondes gonna get the credit that's due to them or were we gonna make this all about Whitney.

From that highlight mixtape of Leary's, he throws a really good jump ball. Bet Dane Key already worships. Hope we give this dude time to pick people apart. Extremely accurate.

- Went to a bachelor party this past weekend on Lake Norman outside of Charlotte. Nice little place. Tons of cougs. Big Nascar spot, apparently. @RibsAndWhiteBread told me Spake lives on the lake, too. Day on the lake and a round at Mooresville (super nice public track). Buddy tore his achilles playing volleyball in the back yard. Thought we were gonna have to put him down right there. Didn't move for 10 minutes.

- This year's Foursquare Rum Release (2010) is dope. Total Wine has several fwiw. Recommend you degenerates grabbing a bottle if you're into high proofed expressions.

- Summer has been awesome weather-wise. Especially when you have 30-40 evergreens that don't handle drought well. Good for the water bill too lol

- Speaking of, my panicle hydrangeas are just now flexing. Mine have been slower to bloom than other areas. Still don't know what I'm going to do with my boxwoods. Some are fine but a couple are super rough.

- Encouraged by the Canada trip, maybe most of all how mature Tre Mitchell plays. Very saavy out of the high/low action. He's not super athletic, but never seems to be in a hurry. Doesn't get too high or low. Pick and pop nightmare. I think he's a perfect compliment to the young guns at guard. Pray to God Cal can keep this lighthearted version of himself up. His demeanor is the biggest make-or-break piece to the season, IMO.

Whoa, small world. I live near Lake Norman and my mother in law lives on the lake right next to Indy 500 winner Will Power. Tons of racing down here and a pretty decent lake to boot.

Glad you enjoyed your stay.

I just don't miss my hair as much as I thought I would. I never have to style my hair. It takes 3 seconds to dry my head. I can wear hats all the time and not worry about losing my hair. I get a wonderful breeze over the top of my head when I roll a window down. It takes 10 mins to shave down and another 2 for my wife to straighten the back. And, bald is beautiful so you hairists can get pumped.

<-- could easily have a full head of hair, but has been buzzing since before Jaimanthony even met. That's like 17 years. Hair kinda sucks. So happy to have a maintenance free head. And I look damn good, of course.
You had such a fantastic head of hair though.
