Running is great for you but it shouldn't be your only exercise. Especially if your main goal is to lose weight and be tone. I'm actually pumped I have my back in shape to do some light yogging. However, resistance training is far more important for longevity and overall health. Good functional resistance training is completely different than body building. Run 3 days, lift 3 days.

-first, i thought strokin was calling Anth a classy working mom from chevy chase...which would been a lot funnier/hell of an escalation.

^also...I thought it was Mt Vernon, not Chevy chase.

Peach easy #1
Pineapple
Grapefruit
Lime/Lemon

...have nothing for the rest. Need to find the 'Happy Dad' Death Row Records Grape.

-The Eubanks story is really cool. Tennis definitely needs an American jolt.

* Nice little lineup this week. Get a little extra payback for starting WW2, then abuse our socialist COVIDIOT neighbors to the north, followed by the racial undertones of beating an entire continent of dark skinned people.

* 5 years ish ago I was in my prime.....

- 40 miles/week running (2 of those hard/fast efforts)
- nice mix of yoga/trx/spinning

At 44, I listened to too many running friends and ramped up to 60 miles/week with way less cross training. I'm 20 pounds heavier and pretty much rocking the skinnyfat bod.

So everyone is built different (hash tag SEC), but I certainly can't be at my best with just cardio.

* Some Jimmy Buffett tunes this week....

- Scarlet Begonias (cover)
- Semi-True Story
- The Weather is Here, Wish you Were Beautiful
- Cowboy In the Jungle
- Miss You So Badly
- Tin Cup Chalice

* There's two gyms in Leadville. The "traditional" one -- the owner is a pain in the *** and makes it hard af to even join, and that's after a lengthy discussion about your vaxx status. So I joined the Crossfit gym. I'm anti CF (because it's almost a guaranteed devastating injury), so I'm trying to learn how to modify/scale but still take advantage of the training I desperately need.

* Just officially made my first hire, 4 years into business. Can'twait (/bart scott voice). Take some admin and marketing/presentation work off my shoulders. Friend of the lassie, and someone who really needs a little boost in her own career. Hoping this turns into a full-time gig by early 2024.

* Remember, for those of you who are married, Amazon Prime Day means you HAVE to go buy stuff. Doesn't matter if you need or not, of course.

* MLB All Star game was blacked out here (one of those DIrecTv contract disputes). Ugh.

I'm rock hard just thinking about the 2nd half of the season. Email me if you'd like pics.

* Has the My Pillow guy died of a crack overdose yet?

* I wouldn't be too nervous about giving Darryl Isaacs head and neck injuries. He's just a marketing/advertising executive, so no biggie.

* Justin Edwards and DJ Wagner should be a complete joy to watch this year, but I'm having a hard *** time getting too excited about the rest of these guys.

* Penis.

Well apparently there’s a crack in our foundation so the buyers backed out - back to re-listing 🤢

Excited to scream at my children for touching the walls with their hands, eating any food that can spill, playing with their toys, going outside without shoes on, coming back in the house without shoes off, and generally existing until we sell again. Makes for a real chill, low key environment.

I’m just completely burned out of work and I’m not sure there’s any coming back from it. Just working on an exit plan at this point. My wife is completely over her job as well.

All I seem to look forward to is getting hammered on the weekend and drinking coffee on the weekend mornings anymore. Guess I’m into liquids.

Test drove some cars for my wife last weekend - cars are apparently spaceships now. The amount of technology was staggering as was the price tag.

I’m really loving this phase of life!!

-Just hit this badass gym in Clearwater called Gorilla Bench. Place is just legit. Felt like I had soy in my veins instead of test though as they were all going H.A.M. and I was like I’m on a deload week 🤓.

Checking out Barbell Barbell in St Pete tomorrow for back day.

-Gal pal is off work tonight, hitting Hoots with my little bro about 5:30, then she said well just bring your stuff, we’ll go out and you can stay with me tonight…🫡 aye aye Captain.

Will hit Florida mom’s pool for an hour or so, smash a pub sub and get ready for all that shortly.

St. Pete bar/restaurant scene is full of service industry smoke I’ve never met, should be fun.

-Childhood bestie went and had a liver biopsy Friday as they’re worried he has metastasized cancer. Shows up yesterday after fretting and no sleep all weekend just for Hardin Memorial Hospital to say, “We’re too busy today, come back tomorrow.”

No problem, he’ll just suffer not knowing if he’s going to have chemo or die for another 24 hours. That’s really touched up, they wouldn’t have done that to any nurse or doctor in that situation. Just heartless.

-If you haven’t fallen asleep stoned in high school or college to Dark Side Of The Moon and the violently awoke to dozens of clock alarms going off when Time comes on, did you even live?

So raw and disjointed. Not surprisingly...but getting torched by a bunch of undersized and overweight Krauts doesn't instill a ton of confidence.

- @Wodie Sloot the Granddam messed those shrimp up. Those royal reds are fantastic but lose all appeal when you just batter and fry them, they just taste like just anything fried. Steamed and old bay’ed up and they’re sweet and delicious.

- @Strokin_Bandit running is definitely good but nothing replaces a little strength training man. It increases bone density (so when you inevitably fall at some point you won’t break in half), increases muscle mass so you hopefully can stop yourself from falling in the first place and not so unsteady, increases ligament and tendon strength which also helps the falling and brittleness.

Lifting isn’t just to get jacked and be a meat head. Same goes for girls scared to train chest/arms, you’re not going to get “jacked” unless you’re trying to, that’s not how it works.

If I’m at a hotel gym or any traditional gym and see an older gent come in neck hunched over and poor posture I know for sure he’s heading for the treadmill/elliptical. Poor posture from not fighting against gravity and nothing to speak of upper body wise.

Just my two cents.

Seafood- breading is fine as long as it does not overwhelm the shrimp/calimari/Oyster etc. Usually, it is to mask lack of meat, but done right, breading is great.
Lifting- old man here, walk everyday when wfh, weights on arms, upper body to keep muscle on as I age, exercises to keep pinched nerves in check.
Attacking rim, playing above glass, hitting 3's, let's do it.

European pros are good at shooting 3s.

Bradshaw is gonna catch a thousand lobs from Wagner, Dilly and crew. That'll be a big part of the offense and it's missing today.

No USA unis?
FOH!!!
They said on KSR they’re representing the USA but can’t wear the jerseys.

-Yeah breading CAN be fine but with royals in particular they taste completely different from normal pinks. She. You slap breading on the and fry them, well they taste like fried shrimp.

We owe Huggy an expensive bottle of brown water for giving us Mitchell.

Hope you mean fancy tea or something because he doesn’t need any bourbon.
