So when does this kid strikeout?

I know guys can get carried away, but when a gamer like Votto mentions we haven’t seen a talent like this since the Mick you sometimes have to do your best to understand what it is you might be witnessing.

The Braves, Padres and Dodgers are proven over the past few years but if Cinci can sustain any kind momentum into a playoff run here you have to be excited as a baseball fan knowing those four teams could really bring an exciting buzz baseball hasn’t had in awhile.

Edit to add, the Angels are doing their part to make Trout/Ohtani relevant past August!

Elly doesn’t even have to hit to have a huge impact the game.

Earlier this week he had a sequence where he hit the ball directly to the pitcher, who rushed the throw to first, so Elly was not only safe, but advanced to second. Same pitcher threw a pickoff attempt into centerfield, so Elly moved to 3rd. Then he scored easily on Rake Fraleys base hit.

Almost any other player in baseball would have been thrown out at first. He scored a run.

Playing well and they don't quit...props for that, but you are way out over your skis with the accolades. That said, Bell's ignorance, their overall inexperience and lack of quality SP will catch up with them. They will be fortunate to finish no worse than 10 games below .500 come season end. If they finish .500 then Tony's on me next time you are here.

Also....your boy EDC has had 1 EBH in his last 41 AB's w/ 15 K's. That isn't going to cut it in the 4 hole.

You don't want to debate me on this, because you will be out of your league as you know, so I will just watch and see what happens.
Debate these stats, *****.

Sitting at the SJC airport waiting for my 8!!!! hour delayed flight. Witnessing a classic Hot Russian Daughter/Ugly Mom scenario a couple of rows over. Daughter is a 9+. Mom is a solid 5 but was probably a 9 at one point. It’s amazing how two people can look completely alike and different at the same time very far apart on the hot/not scale. I’ve also noticed this phenomenon in a lot of Asian cultures. But Eastern European is where I think one notices it the most

The EDC hype is wayyyyy over the top. Pump the brakes on the HOF comparisons and generational talent ignorance. Exciting player with a lot of talent, but the one month accolades shows nothing but how baseball ignorant people are. No one on this board knows baseball better than I do so just chill for a while and enjoy his great moments and realize the bottom will be coming and will be tough. How he responds will be test #1.

I read on ESPN where he's the youngest to hit for the cycle in 51 years. And I thought to myself, "Man, that hasn't happened since like the 50s." Then they said it was 1972, and I remembered that I'm old.
What was ‘72? The last reds cycle or someone so young because I saw that Eric Davis had the last reds cycle in ‘89.

Just confused which stat you were commenting on.

I’ll take EDC’s future over Hubert. You would think you would be a fan of EDC, especially since he sports the gold chains.

I got the Reds tickets through work and there’s a clear policy about not selling them to a third party. But gd there’s no way they’re gonna know and have you seen the secondary market prices for the game this afternoon? Four club seats will go for like $500 a piece. If I didn’t have to go beat the piss out of Wynn tonight I’d definitely be moving these.

Check out some of the names of the six players in Reds history to hit for the cycle. From Redleg Nation:

Elly De La Cruz is the first Reds player to hit for the cycle since June 2nd of 1989 when Eric Davis did it. It was only the 6th cycle in Cincinnati Reds history. Long John Reilly, who is not related to Long John Silver, was the first to accomplish it back in 1890. Tom Parrot did it four years later. Then the franchise went 21 years before Heinie Groh had one in 1915. Harry Craft got it done in 1940. Frank Robinson then picked up his cycle in 1959.

Being in the company of Long John Reilly….rare air indeed.

Meh - He's a flash in the pan. He'll be out of the show in 2 years. LOL

Cracked a molar tooth grinding at the gym this morning… emergency dentist visit at 3. The pain is sumfin. Mercy me. I’m onery.

Newark Airport is the epicenter of the seventh circle of hell. Wife’s flight was cancelled due to ‘weather’. ********. Light drizzle. Hour there. hour back, only to uturn and pick her up again. Shitshow for no reason.

Not a fan of the suit/sneakers combo. Maybe for a prom, but not a wedding.

Hopefully, will be making lasagnas and chicken parm after my dentist fest

I just think UKO is totally committed to his gimmick. He’s a Memphis wrasslin’ villain and lives in kayfabe. It’s like the Christian Bale twin in The Prestige. It’s a lifetime commitment to performance art and it can never be compromised.

Only problem is his schtick is played out and lame.

He is no Bill Dundee.

-I wasn’t sure if he meant the cycle or the age of the cyclist. Got it now. Although I’m sure none of you have ever been confused about anything.

-So annoying with the Reds being hot is the bandwagoners that inevitably come out when any ****** team is finally doing well. One of my buddies for 20+ years has never once mentioned the Reds. Asked him if he wanted to grab some lunch.

“Sorry man, my Reds are on, my guy Elly is raking lately and Votto might be second half MVP.” 🤦‍♂️

-Finally sold my boat in KW. Sad but necessary. Turned around and used the profits for new fridge, range, over range microwave and dishwasher. All were super old and needed an update. Dishwasher barely cleaned anything. Will throw all the old ones on marketplace and profit.

Scooter too 😢 but will for sure be buying a new one in St Pete.

-Unhooking the LAST pipe in my bathroom last night and this old corroded garbage snapped below the shut off valve. So no water at the house til Monday when my plumbing buddy comes over.

Dad texts me every time he tries to use water that there’s no water “at any of the places”. Read your texts from last night big fella.

We’ll hit up Planet Fitness before church tomorrow so he can shower. I’ll just use Proof’s showers til then.

Second you on Newark. Every time I’ve been at that airport, some ******** has occurred.

Had 4 gal pals flying from Lex to Laudy yesterday on allegiant. Told them to pony up and go delta, way more reliable. They said no Mark allegiant is great and super cheap and most of us have kids so don’t want to spend the money.

6 hour delay later and losing a full day of vacation because you wanted to go cheap, I told them allegiant was Italian for not worth it.

I mean, so you saved $2-300 but you ended up drinking $100 worth of beer in the LEX airport and losing a full day… that is not okay with me if I only have a couple weeks of vacation a year.

I see him doing the same stuff on LEX18 Facebook posts. So if he’s committed to it he’s truly committed to it.

Or he does really suck that bad. Occam’s Razor and such.

I personally think it’s kind of weird that anyone is reading, much less posting on LEX18’s FB page but I don’t even watch the news except on occasion to see my buddy Pax up there killing it.

Posting on a news FB page is like a huge flag saying HEY IM REALLY OLD AND BORED, I WEAR WHITE ON CLOUDS WITH KHAKIS w/ TUCKED IN POLO ON A TUESDAY AFTERNOON TO PUBLIX & THE BLACK MERMAID MAKES ME ANGRY!!!!!

Rogue, I have a buddy(per se) who spends his whole day M-F posting nonstop on internet message boards. Then, oddly enough, he does the same on Saturday and Sunday as if he literally has no life.

Got any advice for this guy? I just figure since you seem to have so much life experience to guide everyone that maybe, just maybe you could help my buddy out.

TIA

Says the guy doing the exact same thing 😆.

Yeah I’d say your buddy is killing it. I mean, maybe he doesn’t work like me? Maybe he has lots of free time and very little social life besides the gym because he’s dementia-riddled dad is sitting in a recliner at his house smacking his gums all day?

Also, who the TOUCH cares who posts what? You people that say that stuff are touching hall monitor nerds anyway. You’re life is so exciting you’re posting on a message board dogging me for posting on a message board.

You know what irony is krazy?

-mimi's was solid. Greens were really good...salmon croquettes were a bit dry, nice to visit with rogue IRL.

-25 years in Nov. Looking at a Montreal/Quebec City trip to celebrate with a few friends. Rec's appreciated as always.

-handled some fools in dubs this morning. Nice dip in a cold pool afterwards is always a good thing.

-nabbed a new pair of Mizuno court shoes when I dropped off Segunda for her tennis clinic...grabbing her up in a bit...

-then it's the couch/reds for the rest of the day...lasagna for dinner tonight.

^best part about starting Saturday early/clocking some dad duties is that the late afternoon/evening can be spent in leisure with no nagging feelings of being unproductive.

-re: reds. Enjoying the moment...neither thinking about the past nor looking to the future. Soaking it in. This is the key to contentment, if not happiness. In all aspects of life. In my experience, at least.

-administering parallel parking lessons for some hours tomorrow...wish me luck.

-just received my copy of the new qotsa album: "in times new roman", pre-ordered in silver vinyl.

^did not disappoint. absolutely the best rock-and-roll band of the last 20 years, imnsho. Josh Homme is that guy.
