Good luck. I've reffed the Regionals several times, and it's a really fun tournament. The opening ceremony is always pretty cool. If you want to see some high-quality play, try to check out the U-19 boys and/or girls games.Heading to St. Louis today for the U.S. Youth Soccer Midwest Regional Championships - our “reward” for my kid winning state. Playing teams from Wisconsin, Missouri and Illinois. Should be fun and hopefully we’re competitive. But maybe not so competitive that we have to do this again in Orlando in July.
Beats freezing to death or slowly running out of oxygen in a small, cramped metal tube.So the submersible exploded and they found the debris on the bottom. Damn
I get what you're saying but did they really know how unreliable it was? I'm sure it was marketed as a safe, wonderful experience. And the teenager almost assuredly did not make a truly informed decision on what he was getting into. The porthole windows were rated for 1500 feet. They were going to 4000. I'm sorry, I just don't have an ounce of sympathy for people who paid money to voluntarily get in a death trap. They had all the resources in the world to do their homework and make sure the submersible was safe, and they saw this jalopy and still got in? C'mon man.
and then deciding who you had to "remove from the situation" to try and salvage as much oxygen as possible...Assuming it collapsed immediately on the first day, they got the easy way out. It could have been much worse. Imagine:
It would literally make you go mad.
- Power goes out the first day
- Vessel sinks to the bottom at a vertical angle (as opposed to horizontal)
- 6 men piled on top of each other in pitch black in a five foot diameter tube
- Maybe they are able to get where they can all stand up, but now they are just standing there facing each other
- No hope of being saved
It's not like this was the first time it's been down to see the wreckage. I'd assume it was safe had there been several hundred trips. They may not have known by looking at it, but it seems nuts that people with that level of resource wouldn't have some underling make *sure* it was safe. I don't have billionaire money and reach and if I were going to go to the bottom of the OCEAN I'd be researching everything possible to make sure the vehicle getting me there was top of the line and rated beyond the pressures of going that far below the surface. The teenager I'd agree didn't have that level of understanding (and honestly I keep thinking of him as a little older, which is my bad).
The ceo of the sub company is the obvious first choice.and then deciding who you had to "remove from the situation" to try and salvage as much oxygen as possible...
“So obviously, you’ll all get vouchers for 50% off your next voyage with us…”The ceo of the sub company is the obvious first choice.
pretty much what I mean. The hubris involved in this incident is wild.Dudehad some serious hubris.
Clockwise from the left:
Nobody could guard Miller in college, but everyone will be his size in the pros.
I don't think Brandon Miller will necessarily be a bust, but I think he'll be a disappointment relative to his draft position. I would take Scoot or either Thompson twin over him. Nobody could guard Miller in college, but everyone will be his size in the pros.
This makes it even worse. The implosion was indeed the best way to go.Assuming it collapsed immediately on the first day, they got the easy way out. It could have been much worse. Imagine:
It would literally make you go mad.

No dipshit, I just don't think he's as likely to dominate. Toppin shut him down for a half. He'll be seeing guys a lot better than Toppin on a nightly basis. So as long as you have someone the same size as your opponent, they won't score....cool!
Not even trying to be mean guy, but why do any of us actually care about these five people? We didn’t know them before and we won’t care about them in a week.
It’s not a “tragedy”, just like dying on Everest isn’t a tragedy. You put yourself in a horrible position and it went south.
1000s of people are dying from a million different things every day but we don’t care about that.
Just find it interesting how into this everyone is.
Also, is there something we’re being given the Kansas City Shuffle to not pay attention to something else?
