Booked our first kid free trip for the end of summer. Nice long weekend on the Cape. Still feel that "guilt" about leaving our daughter, but a break will be nice.

I got an invite to teach a little mini-term course next May at Oxford. Involves taking some students from our program over for a few weeks. Thats coming a long way from being a study abroad student who was dismissed from his program for not showing up (hungover, got lost- was the official reason I failed to appear).

-our guide was a great kid. Guides elk/mountain lion hunts in montana...guides in Alaska in the summer. Hard work, but not a bad life for a 20 something.
-scenery was incredible. The place(lake creek.. 80 miles N. Of Anchorage) is lousy with bald eagles...really cool to watch fly/fish/rustle other bird jimmies. Plenty of moose and the odd beaver...no bears.
-minimal hiking ...but found quite a few morels...one of our group found a shed moose antler.
^yentna river and various tributaries, Chugach range on one side...Alaska range on the other. Truly breathtaking.
-float plane to/from Anchorage to camp was really cool.
-my buddy decided last minute that we'd take his plane which was incredible...got to stop in Great Falls Montana and Bismarck, ND for gas and such.
^because of that I have some Alaska Air credits that I *have* to use by next May, shame.
-3ish hrs of dusk per day...the rest is daylight. Fishing at 11pm was as bright as 4pm...not sure I could ever get used to it.

-Man I love everything that's happening with the SEC and UK Football right now. That schedule is dope and is only going to make the league more dominant. And no more divisions? -Dry needling and electric stim are amazing for pain. Slapped my TENS machine on my shoulder last night before bed because it was too much to sleep. Hit PT this morning for dry needling with stim. Shoulder pain is gone…for a few hours at least.
