Matt just caught a stray. Damn!
Not sure Matt has said anything that isn't accurate. There is zero doubt that Tucker has been fed the type of info Jones used to get in the past from the staff/Cal.

The fact that Tucker allowed himself to become Cal's mouthpiece and viewed as being soft on him is the price you pay for accepting the forbidden fruit.

I think Matt's shots were directed at everyone except Kyle. He mentioned over and over again that Kyle and Pilgrim are the only people traveling with the team anymore.

It's the on going thing in journalism. One can't just report. That person has to editorialize everything. Tucker is not different than Goodman, Borzello, Norlander or Parrish. He's elevated himself from beat reporter to basketball savant and therefore has the "knowledge" and the stones to write a critical piece of Cal that is his own voice and not the voice of legit basketball experts. Taking someone else's knowledge and critiques and passing them off as his own.

The criticism is valid, but give credit to where you got the criticisms or become a columnist instead of a beat reporter.

Isn't he essentially the columnist for The Athletic that focuses on UK?

Thought it was funny when the female sideline reporter announced early on that Bale told her that "we are not afraid of the US". As if Gareth Bale, one of the best and most successful players of his generation, would be afraid of the US soccer team. We looked like we were afraid of him in the second half.

I really don’t like how soccer fans refer to teams in the plural - “Chelsea are favored today” as opposed to “Chelsea is favored today.
I think it's euro thing as opposed to soccer itself. I have a buddy originally from Ireland who says things like "UK are favored" and such as. And if any native born murican futbol fans do that **** then they should be nut punched.

There was a time when the plural team name thing was being pushed by ESPN personalities like Linda Cohn. Bilas did it several times and I think that's when I turned on him.

SEC football necks like to talk up their home crowd energy/atmosphere, but nothing compares to soccer. When Wales scored, that "neutral site" went absolutely bonkers. People were crying, barfing, speaking in tongues, levitating, kids were being conceived.
