I think it’s cool to have a regular annual spot that you grow comfortable & fond of. Or even a few. Definitely wouldn’t be Florida, but different strokes…

Equally as cool to always be trying to hit new ones & have different experiences.

Highly recommend a minimum of 5-6 weeks vacation and doing a bit of both.

Been listening to a lot of Ole Miss stuff this week and the consensus seems to be their defense will have a big day giving Levis trouble, Lane finally unleashes 19 year old Jaxson Dart, and something like 31-21 shall be your score.

- St Augustine is our spot, but we actually stay 15 minutes away in crescent beach. Kids like a beach and it gives us a place go and visit our family in Jax, or put us close enough to anything else we’d want to do in FL.

- Looking at Ole Miss leading tacklers and 4 of their top 6 are safeties. How is that possible other than the front seven is mediocre at best.

On the flip side, they have ran over mediocre competition.

You can pick any stat you want and NOTHING says we lose.

- Strokin I’d appreciate if you start picking up Matt Ryan or Trevor Lawrence in your fantasy league. TIA

- Cinci beats Miami Thursday because that’s the NFL.

- This whole “Pay Lamar” is going to get Baltimore in a bad spot. Has Tom Brady ever been a top 5 paid QB in any season?

😂😂😂 also just noticed @Kooky Kats pic was from YESTERDAY at 7pm you know when the storm wasn’t even passed Cuba yet 😂😂😂 okay big fella, good call. It’s still not there yet but go ahead bro! 😂😂😂

Florida, certain parts saint augustine, the keys, destin, etc, are the best for every day living if you’re okay with heat which to me beats the heck out of cold for 3 months I may move back to the Keys one day but Clearwater is way more likely.

Okay I’ll leave you weather people alone now since I’ve be vindicated 😉
We get it, you lived in Florida. Is that what makes you insufferable, or is that just in your nature?

Downplaying bad storms, talking down to people that CURRENTLY live in Florida, referring to people as 'mainlanders.'

Slangin some coors banquets in the keys and killing parasailers doesn't make you an expert in all things Florida.

Maybe next time we're talking about fuzzy navels or buttery cosmos or what apps they have at the planet fitness pizza party, there's your niche.

Folks got a place in Naples back in early '20. Each time they go down they stay a little longer as they continue to get ingrained in their new community. Tons of folks from all over the Midwest, few from Paducah, Lexington and Somerset. A gaggle of Canadians who are harmless and won't shut up about their hockey, Molson and Rush and sure, some northeast bags. The later seems unavoidable as may ocean towns have been inundated with wealthy carpet baggers buying up property and raising costs/commotion from the MidAtlantic down.

I get why that place isn't for everyone but for them it's been great to create a whole new social circle in their early 70's. Not to mention the place was a beacon of sanity for about 18 months while most of the country was put in time-out.

I have lived in the Caribbean, I have lived in central KY, I lived in MA (for 1 year and never again), and I have lived in a van and traveled and seen all this country (40+ states). My wife and I love the heat and near the ocean. Wanted the Caribbean again but don’t trust the healthcare with 2 kids. That left FL for us and we love it so far.

The storm surge predictions soared overnight to 12 to 16 feet for Englewood to Bonita Bay, a forecast so high a new color was added to the National Hurricane Center’s peak storm surge prediction map.

Hurricane Ian has maximum sustained winds near 155 mph with higher gusts, putting it just shy of a Category 5, the National Hurricane Center announced at 6:35 a.m. Wednesday. To be a Cat 5, Ian needs to have maximum sustained winds of at least 157 mph.

I’m not saying I wouldn’t live in Florida, because I’m sure there are places I would, but the number of rednecks and olds and Disneyheads and losers and white trash in that state is WAY underrated.

-Jim Cantore is a bad mofo. Absolute beast.

-Buckle up Florida folks. Looks like a doozy. 155mph. Yikes.

-39 and dark af this morning. Bleh.

-Just switched from whole milk to heavy cream for my coffee. Game changer.

-New Orleans, which I love to visit, is a hell hole. Literally, just pot holes and **** everywhere. Awful crime, politics, infrastructure. And you have me defending Florida Man. Now... living in Colorado, that's dope.

-Reports that 3 head RB monster in Oxford is pretty banged up. Hopefully evens out losing 2 starters on D for us.

-I feel like this Chess drama needs more attention. 👀 Sounds like sour grapes but could also be a a guy cheating with an butt plug. So...

-I'm just a big fan of Kentuckians. We're a friendly lot. Beautiful state. Safe. Unique traditions. Good central location. Mild-ish weather.

-Lil Wayne turned 40 if you didn't already feel old.

I live in South Florida - very close to intercoastal and just south of Boca Raton. Extremely nice area. Very expensive, of course, but quality of life is good. There are parts of Florida that I would definitely not want to live in (panhandle, other rural parts of state, etc.). But I grew up in Louisville. Lived in Lexington and Cincinnati. Made the decision 20 years ago to move to South Florida for work, quality of life, etc. I love the state of Kentucky. But there is a reason why there is enormous development and construction in Florida, and there is not, say, in the city of Louisville.

Every time you guys make fun of people for liking something/somewhere I feel like Eminem during his rap battle on 8 Mile. Yes, I like 8 mile too.

Except for New Orleans. That place is a ******** for sure.

Lol, UL

Obviously Florida has a ton of nice places. I grew up going to the panhandle for Spring Break every year (The Islander FTW) and lived there for a summer in college. I haven't been back in nearly 10 years, but I still love Destin. It was a big part of my childhood.

Really liked the older part of Tampa. The neighborhoods reminded me of Louisville.

Naples is wodie. If I have the money when I'm older I'll be spending time there for sure.

But shewee, a lot of ********, too.

The last time I was in New Orleans, about 7 years ago, we went and ate at a nice restaurant and had a great meal. It was me and my wife and then we were going to meet the rest of the group after in the marigny arts district. It was only a mile away and since it was warm out we figured we’d walk. We were walking down the street and I realized it was eerily quiet. I started looking around and it was a bunch of dilapidated and boarded up houses. Litter everywhere. Just me and my blonde wife walking around like two walking dipshit bullseyes. Fast forward a block later and I’m holding my wife’s hand forcing her to sprint to the fancy arts district after the fancy dinner so we won’t be murdered. Absolutely sprinted the last .75 miles, made her take off her heels. And that was the nice part of town. Combine that with the smell of post-asparagus urine everywhere and it’ll take a lot to get me back to that city.

Levis may run for 100+ Saturday against that 3-2-6 tbh. Could look a lot like that UofL game last year (similar scheme).

Stoops has been very outspoken on the receivers needing to be able to block, and I feel like this game is in part the reason why. I doubt you'll see a ton of read progressions from Levis Saturday, but he'll have a lot of open field to work with.

If it's there, throw it. Otherwise, go.

Meh, if I’m going to Florida, might as well just hop down to the Bahamas and hang out at Old Fort Bay for the week

Oh, and I don’t even eat french fries anymore- just aligator. I also am going to have my birthday this year at the SuperDome - only as a flex.

Lived in FL twice.
PCB - ********. Would not do again but new UK graduate Justa loved it.
Ponce Inlet/Wilbur by the Sea - loved it and would do again in a heartbeat.

But FL is what it is. It's a melting pot of the elderly, NE transplants, and the worst rednecks in the country. Stay in your lane and its fine.

It's easy to make fun of destinations but really who gives a ****. If your fam likes Pigeon Forge type place and the travel is easy and within your budget then roll with it. I enjoyed it the few times i've stayed there. Mountain cabin, stuff for adult & kids to do, "decent" dining options (not upscale of course ), fairly easy drive for most. There are going to be trash people everywhere, do your thing and touch what anyone else thinks.

I normally choose other areas in Western NC but PF/Gat has its place when needed. Same with PCB, Myrtle, etc.

I’ve never spent any time in South Florida so the Lass and I went to Palm Beach for quick 4 day mid winter getaway in 2018 when she was pregnant with Lil Lass #2.

What a bizarro yet fascinating place. Just an obscene amount of wealth. All of these Boston and New York folks down there “wintering” like it’s a casual walk in the park until the Northeast warms up in May and South Florida heat becomes intense.

Hit up The Breakers for pre dinner Happy Hour cocktails at the main library bar. Some fella from Boston starts chatting it up with us at the bar. He’s a part of some real estate conglomerate in Boston and lives down there every winter. He was planning a trip to the Derby that May and we gave him some recommendations for dinner. He ended up picking up our tab, gave me his card and told me to hit him up for a Red Sox game and we could sit in his suite if we ever make it to Boston. Had an awesome meal at this Italian joint
in a courtyard off Worth Ave.

The weather was surreal considering it was 35 and cold back in Kentucky. I remember watching UK play at Vandy at the poolside bar while overlooking the sun splashed ocean.

We enjoyed the experience albeit a totally different universe than what I’m accustomed to.
